Men at Work...Colin Hay gigs @ Fremont Street Experience! Free! July 2nd!

Under the auspices of the "Absolutely 80's" summer concert (free) series on Fremont Street in Las Vegas, Colin Hay (Men at Work) is slated to gig for tourists (and locals alike) on Saturday, July 2nd!

In addition to the live! stage show, there will be thrills-a-minute to delight to on the Flightlinez amusement ride which soars above the crowds on the eclectic downtown strip, and by virtue of dazzling light shows on-the-hour which feature tributes to the ultimate hedonist rocker - Jim Morrison (and the Doors) - KISS - and many more!

See 'ya there!

Happy 4th of July, eh?

Flightlinez...Fremont Street zip-line thrill ride a hit with tourists!

Since my last trek to the desert a wild thrill ride has been installed high above the street level on Fremont Street in downtown Las Vegas.

Nightly, tourists -and locals alike - are plunking down big bucks (day passes are 50 smackeroos) to hop on a high-wire contraption (about 850 feet in length) to slide the-light-fantastic at 30 mph underneath a $70 million video screen as ecstatic friends and family cheer 'em on from the packed street level below.

“They’re like rock stars!” one excited regular blurted out to all within earshot one heady night, when the conversation turned to the subject of the ballsy-nerve of the adventure-seekers.

Uh-huh!

And, pity the poor devil who happens to be standing directly beneath an intoxicated dude, when he unexpectedly spills his guts after a bout of motion sickness suddenly sets in.

Great photo opportunity, though!

See 'ya there!

Mayor Goodman...Vegas politician send-off par-tay! Fremont Street Experience!

Mayor Goodman - the head honcho at City Hall on his way "out" - does not intend to end his long stint in the "hot seat" with a whimper - or without a King-size Martini or three in hand!

In fact - handlers at the Mayor's Office have just announced - that the man with an eye for pretty showgirls - and a no-nonsense approach to desert politics - is tossing a kick-off party at the Fremont Street Experience tomorrow night at Stage 1 in downtown Las Vegas!

Locals - and tourists alike - are invited to celebrate with His Honor between 7 p.m. - 9 p.m.

See 'ya there!
