Lady GaGa...slated for Dave Letterman tonight! Diva chats up BORN THIS WAY release!

For Lady GaGa - of late - it's been a non-stop swirl of frenzied show-biz trailblazing!

After a triumphant guest appearance on Saturday Night Live, the Pop Diva's sizzling hot new release - BORN THIS WAY - was unveiled on iTunes at midnight last night amidst a lot of fanfare.

The Queen of Pop's little Monsters will be thrilled to hear that the fabulous hit-maker and artist extraordinaire is slated to splash across television screens this evening at the witching hour on the ever-popular Dave Letterman Show!

The Grammy Award-winning multi-platinum selling pop star is making her first appearance on Dave's hot seat, and the much-anticipated interview is expected to be a ratings monster.

At Press time Dave's handlers confirmed that Lady Gaga is expected to sashay on to the stage at the Ed Sullivan Theatre and hunker down for a chat about her new album "Born This Way", her eye-popping fashion choices - and ultimately - reveal what life is like in the dizzying fast lane of the Pop stratosphere.

And, now - it appears from a flurry of cyber attacks last night on the Internet - that the "Bieb" has a gang of those die-hards, too!

Uh-huh!

On the heels of a loss to rising young Pop Star (Esperanza Spalding) in a much-coveted Grammy Award category broadcast live last eve - wacko dedicated Bieber "fans" swarmed the pervasive World-Wide-Web - and took matters into their own dainty highly-polished hands!

Within minutes of scooping up the prize, authorities - and webmasters, too - reported that a glut of irate "Bieber" babes launched a nasty assault on Esperanza's Official web site to utter up their disdain.

There outta be a law, right?

Needless to say - the "Bieb" was most apologetic - in the aftermath!

In fact, in the glitzy environs back-stage a few moments earlier, Justin was inclined to be a good sport about it all.

Golly!

The polite Pop Icon (from Stratford-on-Avon) even gushed congratulations to the talented young musical beauty who scooped up the Golden Trophy many thought was the "Bieb's" by birthright!

Hell hath no fury like a Bieber fan scorned, eh?

As Christina Aguilera recovers from the humility of screwing up big time with the lyrics of the National Anthem at the Super Bowl last weekend, "Babs" is forced to reconcile the fact that her once-golden pipes have lost their silky-smooth tones!

Uh-huh!

When La Streisand wafted onto the stage at the Grammy Award celebration last night in Los Angeles - gussied up in a dowdy purple frock (with frightful frizzy out-of-style "do") - it was evident to all within earshot that the funny gal was straining to hit the high notes of the tune she attempt to croon.

Even still, the nostalgic crowd was inclined to send off the Pop Diva in grand style, with a standing "O".

The fact there were no "close-ups" - said it all - in my estimation.

Barbra Streisand gave one of her last bows, without doubt, so cherish it folks!

Lady Gaga, undoubtedly America's top Pop Icon, made a big splash across the pond last night at the celebrated Brit Awards.

The outlandish style fashionista struck a chord of a different kind around the world when she strode onto the stage in an exquisite lacy face mask coupled with a drab ball-gown-style outfit that lacked any imagination whatsoever.

The "look" - topped with a headdress - hinted at a bygone era where Maria Antoinette once reigned supreme at the Royal Court.

For good reason, the much-lauded Diva has now been crowned the Queen of Pop by many!

The avant garde stage and media circus performer nabbed coveted Brit trophies for "Best International Female Artist", "Best International Break-out artist", and "Best International Abum".

When the talented Gaga strode up to accept her 1st award, she graciously thanked her English fans.

 "Thank you so, so much. I love my fans, my fans in the UK."

 "And thank you to Lee McQueen.' she added, as her voice noticeably cracked with emotion.

Of course, Lady Gaga was referring to good friend Alexander McQueen who passed away to spirit last week by his own hand.

Some may have been disappointed that the musical wonder didn't perform her big hit - Poker Face - but were content nonetheless to be entertained impromptu with tunes such as "Telephone" and "Dance in the Dark" which featured high-energy back-up dancers.

Other winners included U.S. rapper musician -  Jay-Z - for "Best International Male artist" and Kasabian for "Best British Band".

The Brit Awards are on par in stature with the annual Grammy awards which are bestowed on musical artists on these shores amidst a lot of hoopla and glitzy fanfare.

Aretha Franklin...Divas clash! Sour notes amid cries of dis-R.E.S.P.E.C.T!

Lordie, that scrawny little songbird said what?

Either Aretha Franklin is paranoid or she's under the mistaken impression that all the stars in the firmament orbit around her global figure.

A case in point.

After Beyonce called her duet partner Tina Turner "the Queen" on Sunday evening's Grammy Award Show - the celebrated chanteuse not only threw a hissy fit - but allegedly issued a press release about the slight to boot.

Had that young upstart Beyonce lost her musical senses?

In a nutshell, Ms. Franklin not only felt "disrespected", but surmised there was a plot underfoot to topple her from her throne!

"I am not sure of whose toes I may have stepped on or whose ego I may have bruised between the Grammy writers and Beyonce," the hefty vocalist lamented to startled guests backstage.

Well, she's not very adept at the English language, for starters; but, we get the drift.

The moody Diva proceeded to opine that the whole fiasco was a sinister plot - "a cheap shot" - to stir up controversy.

It wasn't one, until you opened your pie hole, Ms. Franklin!

Aretha - did you ever consider the possibility that Beyonce acted innocently - that the comment slipped out in the sheer excitement of the moment?

Notwithstanding, why should she kow-tow to you?

Gosh, your ego is bigger than your record sales; and that's sayin' somethin'.

Natalie Cole...misguided comments, bad girl rant!

Natalie Cole lashed out at Amy Winehouse and the Grammy Officials who voted the "Rehab" warbler a handful of Awards this past weekend.

"I don't think she should have won," Ms. Cole lamented at a press conference after the high-energy extravaganza came to a close Sunday evening.

Miss Cole allegedly sniped to anyone within earshot,

"I think it sends a bad message to our young people who are trying to get into the business, the ones who are trying to do it right and really trying to keep themselves together. We have to stop rewarding bad behavior."

If anyone is acting out-of-line, it's you, Ms. Cole.

Natalie, the awards are given to artists for their musical talent, not for their behavior - on stage, or off.

Notwithstanding, for your information...throughout history, artists have been known to struggle with private demons.

In fact, many of the troubling encounters have not only resulted in self-discovery on occasion, but - more-often-than-not - fueled the creative muse, as well.

Your goody two-shoes attitude is not only misguided, but laughable at best.

Grammy Awards...50th Anniversary show! Justin Timberlake & Bruce Springsteen nominated!

The Grammy Awards sauntered into middle age this week.

A staggering 50 years of musical innovation is cause for a special celebration, indeed!

Not unlike the Oscars in many respects, the Grammy Awards are the top glitzy glamour event of the year - albeit - solely in the musical arena.

Without doubt, there will be quite a bit of wild cheeky fashion spirit on display this year.

The award-getters are determined by 12,000 music industry professionals who belong to the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.

Only albums released between October 1st (2006) and September 30 (2007) are considered for the Awards.

Kanye West heads up the nominations with a staggering 8 in total.

Amy Winehouse - amid a swirl of publicity over reports of drug abuse - will appear via satellite telecast from London due to the controversial denial of a Visa.

Understandably, because of the logistics and time constraints involved, Winehouse handlers were forced to offer up the next best thing.

"I'm raring to go and really excited to be performing at my first Grammy Awards," the vocalist gushed at a recent press junket.

"I'd like to thank everyone for their support over the last couple of weeks. I'm really sorry I can't be there, but I appreciate that I'm being given a second chance via satellite."

She will take a brief leave from her drug rehab to rehearse Friday and Saturday and be rarin' to go Sunday.

Many will tune in on the old boob tube, nonetheless, to catch the much-anticipated performance, if only for curiosity's sake.

According to producers, the ratings-grabber is expected to grace the airwaves on Sunday Night without much of a hitch. (CBS 8 o'clock)

The final lineup of presenters and performers for this weekend's Grammy Awards has been set, according to the producers.

Despite speculation, the organizers have vehemently denied that the much-loved "Gloved One" or a former Beatle, will show despite planned tributes to the legendary work of each.

There will be a few high-wire hairy moments, though.

For example, performers from Cirque du Soleil's Grammy-nominated - "Love" - have scaled down a high-flying stage act (normally performed at the Mirage in Las Vegas) to fit the comparatively narrow confines of a circular stage at the Staples Center.

But, the heart of the event has always been the music.

The 2008 Grammy Awards will not disappoint.

On hand to perform live will be the likes of Feist, the Foo Fighters, Carrie Underwood, and Aretha Franklin.

John Fogerty - who has waited awhile to perform at the Grammy Awards - will realize his dream to strut his stuff on stage in front of peers. At 62, he'll finally step out of the wings.

Fogerty, the former frontman for Creedence Clearwater Revival, will be part of the show's - "Cornerstone of Rock" tribute - with Jerry Lee Lewis and Little Richard.

The old-timer won a Grammy in 1997 - and in addition to singing Sunday night at the Grammy show - will be considered for rock album of the year category with his recent offering "Revival."

How apropos!

The Golden Anniversary show is sure to entertain - what with the likes of A-list presenters like Prince, Ludacris, Bonnie Raitt, Miley Cyris , and Kid Rock - on tap to perform.

There will definitely be an '80s flashback zest to the Sunday Grammy Awards when Jimmy Jam revisits his musical roots in a one-night-only reunion with the musical band "The Time"

"We can't remember the last time we all played together," the 48-year-old record producer said.

Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis (former high-school classmates in Minneapolis) formed a band called Flyte Time that evolved into The Time.

In 1981, they were joined by Morris Day and toured with Prince as Morris Day and the Time.

Pop hits included "Cool," "Get It Up" and "The Walk."

By the end of the decade, Jam and Lewis moved on to produce a string of hit albums for Janet Jackson.

Jam, chairman of The Recording Academy, is working on new albums with Usher and Jennifer Hudson, currently.

Jam rehearsed Wednesday for the Grammy Show.

"I'm shocked at how quickly it all came back," Jam said.

"We're having a great time. We're getting along so good. We're just soaking up the whole atmosphere."

An alleged rift with Prince has been mended, he noted on an upbeat end note.

In spite of these look-backs at the Industry, and a few gem performances, Grammy producer Ken Erhlich assured industry-professionals this past week that his creative team was doing their utmost best to avoid a show that was too nostalgia-inclined.

"We made a conscious decision back in November not to do so much looking back but to stay current. Give it a touch of connecting," he said.

"You got to connect the dots in music, as you well know, and that's what we're going to do on Sunday."

Yes, while it is important not to forget the musical roots of the great industry - first and foremost - it is essential to surge forward.

Especially in view of the fact many new and exciting talents on the turf now, are wallowing in innovative trends, with the advent of a myriad of rich media proliferating on the Internet and elsewhere.

Now, for a look at some of the vote-getters

Best Album nominees include "Foo Fighters" for "Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace"; old-timer Vince Gill for "These Days"; and Herbie Hancock for "River: The Joni Letters." Rounding out the category are vocalists Amy Winehouse and Kanye West for "Back to Black" and "Graduation", respectively.

Heading up the noteworthy list are Feist, Ledisi, Paramore, Taylor Swift, and Amy Winehouse.

The song of the year includes recordings by Carrier Underwood (Before he Cheats), Plain White T's (Hey There Delilah), Corinne Bailey Rae (Like a Star), Amy Winehouse (Rehab) and Rihanna (Umbrella).

In the hotly-contested record of the year category the musical choices are "Irreplaceable" (Beyonce), "The Pretender" (Foo Fighters), "Umbrella" (Rihanna) "What Goes around comes around" (Justin Timberlake), and "Rehab" (Amy Winehouse).

Rock album of the year nominees include "Daughtry", by Daughtry; "Revival", by John Fogerty; "Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace", by the Foo Fighters; "Magic", by Bruce Springsteen; "Sky Blue Sky", by Wilco.

For the first time in Grammy Award history, the pre-telecast awards presentation will be broadcast live online on Sunday, February 10 at Los Angeles' Staples Center.
