Monster Light...energy drink for what ails 'ya! Hip container signals trend!

I was strolling down the street today, when I spied a couple of dudes on the back of a pick-up truck (which looked like it was pumped up on steroids) handing out free samples of Monster Light.

If you’re unfamiliar with the thirst-quencher, it is considered to be an energy drink which packs quite a wallop.

Unlike most “sodas” and “juices” which relegate the ingredients to small type on a less noticeable part of the trendy-looking container, Monster light screams out the exotic contents around the top rim of the disposable can.

Maurine! L-Carnitine! B Vitamins! Ginseng!

For those who are health conscious, and quick to gulp down muscle-building body-boosters and electrolyte replenishers, the ingredients are inviting when it comes to a delicious pick-me-up.

But, the differences in packaging does not end there.

No, Sir!

Shortly after I took a respite from it all, and plunked myself down on a retaining wall at Union Square to take a refreshing sip amidst a flock of excited tourists, I noticed the nifty fastener unique to the product right-off-the-bat.

Instead of having to snap up a tricky metal ring to get at the contents (and break a nail in the process), consumers need only remove a seal, then twist a plastic gizmo to one side to open up the lid.

Neat!

If the drinker opts not to chug-a-lug all the contents in one fell swoop, they need only twist the cap back into the first position, to save the tasty drink for later.

Or, use the container to bottle water or juice (or what-have-you) in the refrigerator for later.

But, it is the hilarious blurb promoting the popular-selling product on the side of the decorated can, that is really a hoot.

In the disclosure, the makers delightfully note all their delicious intentions in a pleasing scroll on the side.

“Looks like Monster Imports is a big hit since we can’t make enough at our plant in Holland and have now started up production in scenic Cold Springs Minnesota to meet demand."

"Our Taurus competition covets the cool re-sealable can, but won’t get it anytime soon since we bought the entire European supply.”

Ha!

“Now the gym rats (moi?) and calorie counters at HQ are on our case to make a low calorie version so they can imbibe fashionably and guilt free."

"To keep the peace, we worked overtime on Monster Light, with its own unique flavor of only 25 calories per serving and enough of our Monster energy blend to get the job done.”

“If you’re down on calories and carbs but still crave that infamous Import Buzz and cool Euro can."

"Grab it!"

"Import Light. It’ll do you right"

You betcha!

I’m hooked!

Too bad it’s carbonated, eh?

But, bottom line, that’s what give it the kick, eh?

Illegal Immigrants...GPS cellphone used to locate water! Transporter Immigrant tool...

High-tec cell phone locates stored water!

When I first caught the flash on Transit News, it struck me that the device (which uses a Global Tracking System to locate water for parched immigrants illegally crossing into the U.S.), might actually encourage treks across deserted sections of the border.

Ricardo Dominquez vows that he invented the compact cell phone, with the leading-edge technology, with altruistic motives.

Aware that illegal immigrants might literally die of thirst in barren regions of the desert, he conjured up the idea to store units of water in the desert, which could be tracked by what he innocently refers to as a "transborder immigrant tool".

In the final analysis, he asserts that it is not a political device - but rather - a humanitarian one.

However, critics like myself, have quickly pointed fingers at a couple of the features which suggest otherwise.

For example, the phones are encrypted to avoid electronic detection by the border patrol.

An innocent invention for the benefit of all?

Hardly.

In addition to locating the "hidden Oasis", the cell is capable of detecting the nearest border patrol outpost stations, too.

Yup!

The immigrants have been tipped off where to tread softly to ensure they are not detected by the border patrol's electronic surveillance equipment.

The communication tool will also be loaded with haiku-like poems "with a welcoming theme".

That one's the tip-off.

Folks, this guy is not only walking a tightrope, but is downright wacko!

I expect a host of INS Officials, Federal Agents, and Border Patrol brass will be hot on his tail.

This convoluted charade should be up-and-running about two seconds flat, if that, before the powers-that-be shut the Professor's a**-backwards operation down.

Does Mr. Dominquez think everyone has "stupid" written on their forehead?

Steve Wynn...Encore owner stingy with cocktails! Big bucks go to dog & ex-wife & heck with customers...

Last night I sauntered into "Encore" on the Vegas strip after capturing a few picturesque video clips of  the Gondoliers on the canals at the Venetian  (check out my YouTube site for exclusive videos).

OMG!

A short gambling streak later, a handful of us slot-players thought we would just die of thirst!

Without a waitress in sight, and suffering from a nasty bout of parched mouth, we were scheming to call out to a bootlegger for some demon rum since the house was obviously dry.

A gander around the room signalled the obvious.

Old money bags, Steve Wynn, was obviously keen on holding onto his loot!

Or, too budget-minded  (mean) to employ another server to lend a hand to the two over-worked bimbo babes who were struggling to keep up with frenzied requests on the Casino floor.

Just maybe, the multi-milliionaire is a cheap-skate when it comes to "watering-down" his paying guests.

Curious, that!

I just read in the morning newspaper (in "Norm's" column, if  I am not mistaken)  that Wynn has his much-coddled puppies chauffeured around in a pricey limousine (worth half-a-million bucks).

Looks like all the moolah he's raking in at the Hotel & Casino (off  the backs of gamblers like toi & moi)  is being  pressed into the sweaty palms  of  handlers for dog upkeep and canine pampering.

Maybe it's time we cut up our blood red Player's cards and slouched off  to an establishment that appreciates our biz, eh?

Maybe then, the liquor will flow freely!

I got to thinking today, though, that there is a solution to the problem.

Since Steve  loves doggies so much, maybe he should spring for a couple of  St. Bernards - and likewise - strag a keg of beer or two around their furry necks.

Yup!

Whenever a patron cries out for a drinkie-pooh for medicinal purposes, at least, the winsome Wynn just has to send in the dogs (and a clown or two from his management team) to facilitate a life-saving chug-a-lug or two.

As I headed out the much-foliaged front doors, I couldn't help but also notice that Wynn is making a killin' elsewhere on the prmieses, too.

Golly, the letch with a penchant for bimbo babes,  is also charging guests ten smackeroos ($10.00) to take a gander at parked Ferraris on the lobby floor in a fancy-schmanzy showroom a hop-and-a-skip away from the Casino floor.

I guess I'm jaded  'cause I would'nt  be caught dead forking over one thin dime for the privilege.

I ain't no wide-eyed kid,  with his nose pressed up against the glass of the candy-store window, after all.

Ferrari's are a dime-a-dozen in Beverly Hills, Steve-o!

Bottom line?

You're not really part of the tony elite in BH or Bel Air 'til a Ferrari hangs a sharp turn on squealing wheels and annoints your leg with a spray of run-off designer water the locals use to perpetrate the green on their well-manicured front lawns.

By the way, I couldn't help but notice that at - "Blush" (the Nightclub boutique) - a crush of of young trendies began to queue along a bank of the spanking-new slots as the withcing hour approached.

Just beyond that permieter, natch, Wynn's security gooks in goon suits, were eyeing up a handful of dubious characters to shadow as the bustling eve wore on.

Judging from the smug looks on their mugs, I expect the whole posse of 'em thought they were being remarkably discreet.

On the contrary, they exhibited all the subtlety of a herd of pink elephants in heat!

Losers, one and all.

Ironic, in a gambling hall, don't 'ya think?
