Barack Obama...Boys night out! Suspicious to Tattler readers!

When I logged in today, and checked for responses to posts, one got a rise out of me!

A "Tattler" reader was quick to highlight an ABC News headline, utter up an editorial (comment), and fire it off to moi!

ABC News

"And what do make of today's ABC News online headline: "With wife and daughter away, Obama has his boys over."? Not the Globe or Tattler, ABC News?!"

For starters?

This is what I think:

"Boys night out!"

In fact, according to the brief (very brief) ABC snippet, Barack will savor a round of golf with buddies early in the afternoon, and later the 1st Dude's closest circle of buddies will satiate their hunger - off the green - with a barbecue (with all the trimmings) on the White House Lawn.

What, no poker (five card stud)?

http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2010/08/with-wife-and-daughters-away-obama-has-his-boys-over.html

As to the part-tay, this inquiring mind wants to know - at a minimum - if there will be any drunken orgies in the pool and sauna cum - um - around midnight?

If so, will Secret Service let me pass through the side gate at the beguiling witching hour?

As to the "Globe" - that giant of the Literary world known for its excellence in reporting -, well, it's pretty much a given what their ballsy reaction will be.

The week-end will - undoubtedly - warrant a two-parter rife with all the juicy details!

According to the titillating gossip rag, these kinds of drunken romps (when Michelle is out-of-town and-out-of-harm's way) ) are nothing new.

In fact, the lusty (suspicious) editors have hinted that the President oft takes these footloose and fancy-free occasions to dabble in a litttle erotic "homosexual" fantasy leisure activity.

Surely, folks caught the screaming headlines of one particularly eye-catching issue, at the supermarket check-out which alleged that the President is "gay"?

In closing, I'd like to thank the "anonymous" individual who posted the comment!

I can't always keep track of the nefarious sexual antics of all of the debauched Politicians on Capitol Hill, let alone the chi chi get-togethers hosted by a healthy black man (who has chosen to exercise his power and authority over the social planner at the White House) when Michelle is out spending the coin of the realm.

Shades of John F. Kennedy?

You betcha!

Oh, Daddy, the silver hair is a turn-on!

Ricky Martin...to star in EVITA stage production! Tour on horizon...

Ricky Martin will be starring in a Broadway production of - Evita - which producer Hal Luftig promises will be a true Latino effort.

“All major roles will be played by Latino actors,” he boasted.

Martin will tackle the role of Che in the Frank Lloyd Webber revival.

Elena Roger - who was previously lauded for her performance in a London production - has also been pacted.

Actors take note!

The role of Juan Peron is yet to be cast.

Ricky, who came out several weeks ago (he was allegedly the last person to recognize he was “gay”), is no stranger to the boards.

The effervescent charismatic Pop Icon previously crooned and danced on stage in the popular award-winning hit "Les Miserables".

A slew of fans are chomping at the bit, no doubt, to catch Martin in concert live when his tour revs up in the fall.

Is there a marriage on the horizon, too?

News at 11.

Ellen DeGeneres...Miley Cyrus niave! Fibber at it again...

Shortly after I published a post yesterday afternoon which focused on Miley Cyrus's growing lack of credibility (she's a teller of tall tales, after all) I found myself yelling at the old boob a few minutes later when Miley trotted out on the stage of the "Ellen Show" and proceeded to chat up a storm.

"There you go again."

In a post last week, I reported that Miley shut-down her twitter account, because she alleged threats were received from users who were angry with comments she made in support of Gay Marriage.

http://ijulian.blogspot.com/2010/03/miley-cyrustweet-or-twit-gay-marriage.html

Since that time, Miley has been reluctant to confirm those shocking events on-camera, unless cornered to do so.

For example, when Jay Leno quizzed her about the twitter incident, she tried to change her story.

"Oh, I quit because twitter-users tweet about stupid things, like going to the bathroom," she chided in so many words.

Leno appeared to be taken aback.

"I thought it had to do with the fact you supported Gay Marriage?"

Perhaps it slipped Miley's mind?

After all, the excuse about the "Gay Marriage" comment, is the one she offered up to Parade magazine a few weeks ago.

Miley got a little flustered for a sec, then fessed up that Jay's take on it was correct.

Did she wise up to the fact that - once a comment is made on the record about a particular subject - it's probably best to stick to the original story for credibilty's sake?

No!

On Ellen's show yesterday she claimed there was another reason why she quit twitter.

Arghhh!

The perky talk show host (herself gay) probed further.

"I heard it was because you supported Gay Marriage!"

Good one!

Go in for the kill, Ellen.

In the aftermath, Miley scrambled to sort-out the dilemma she found herself in.

"I was asked a question. So, I gave my opinion."

But her naivete really charged to the fore when she quipped:

"They were saying that love was wrong. How could love between two people be wrong?"

Huh?

Ms. Cyrus has obviously not mingled much with folks in the mainstream around the country - or for that matter, given the issue much thought - otherwise she wouldn't open her yap and make such a silly remark.

The argument for gay marriage does not hinge on the question of "Love" per se.

Contrary to what Ms. Cyrus thinks, the people she was complaining about, don't believe that love is ever "wrong".

Christians in the heartland, for instance, tend to take a cue from scriptures that teach that homosexuality - "a man lying down with another man" - is not only sinful but goes against the laws of nature.

There is a better argument to pursue that has a lot more bite in respect to the issue of "gay marriage".

For instance, there isn't any proof that the passages in the Bible Christians refer to in support of their position, are - in fact - the word of God!

Over the centuries the scriptures have been revised - and quite possibly rewritten - to  meet a specific agenda of the day (or the powers-that-be).

Elsewhere in the scriptures, another passage underscores that when God calls on an individual, it is not necessary for that person to change.

The Lord accepts the individual as they are.

Miley's on the right track in many respects, but needs to step out of her protected shell - get real - and spout off accordingly.

To quote myself:

"If your actions are pure of heart, there is no harm."

Amen!

Proposition 8...trial begins amidst fears of favoritism! YouTube broadcast "stayed"...

Judge's impartiality in question?

Yesterday, the Federal trial began on matters before the Court pertaining to the isssue of same-sex marriage.

At the heart of the legal proceeding rests Prop 8 - a voter-approved measure - that holds that a bond through the act of marriage is a holy union reserved exclusively for a man and woman.

The issue was hotly-contested in lower and upper State courts - and in the process - nearly tore the California apart politically and socially (and otherwise).

When gay activists lost the their last battle in the State Supreme Court arena, two lesbian couples proceeded to file a lawsuit in Federal Court, in a bold-faced effort to overturn Prop 8 on the gounds of discrimination.

In sum, they argued in their briefs that the ballot initiative revoked the marital rights of one disfavored group of California residents and - thus - was unconstitutional.

Not true, argued their strident opponents, who put forth their legal notion that anti-gay bias was "off point" since the State already legalized same-sex domestic partnerships.

The basic underlying arguments sounded reasonable; unfortunately, they tended to splinter off and get shriller and shriller.

For example, opponents to the gay right to marry insisted that extending the privilege to same-sex couples would redefine marriage, weaken biological parents' connection with their children (!), tell men they don't have any significant place in the family life (!), and force many religious Americans into choosing between being a believer and a good citizen.

What a load of hogwash!

If you ask me, both sides are a little hysterical at this juncture.

But, the judge presiding over the case - Chief  U.S. District Judge Vaughn Walker - is a bit of a wild card, too (if you read are inclined to read between the lines).

For example, Prop 8 supporters have lamented that the Judge's rulings to date in the preliminary phase of the trial,  have tended to favor the gay lifestyle advocates.

Couple those allegations with Walker's decision to go forward with a non-jury trial - and its easy to fathom why all parties to the proceedings (and fascinated curiosity-seekers on the sidelines) - are all keyed up with emotion.

The bench-warmer's  decision to broadcast the proceedings on YouTube didn't sit well with me.

On one hand, ensuring that the proceedings are transparent is of the utmost importance, but my concern is that the whole proceeding will be trivialized in the process.

The integrity of the court may be at stake.

Fortunately, as I was putting the final touches on this post, news came over the wire that the U.S. Supreme Court "stayed" the Judge's ruling to allow the trial to be broadcast on the pop culture site until Wednesday (and until such time as the Justices have the opportunity to review briefs and make a final determination).

The only way to view the proceedings currently is by dropping into Judge Walker's courtroom on the 17th floor of the Federal Courthouse where thirty-six seats daily await lucky individuals who manage to  maneuver their way into the proceedings.

Another one-hundred-and-fifty seats are available in an overflow courtroom on the 19th floor where the trial is being broadcast on close-circuit television.

However, I gave the Judge a thumbs up when he explained the reasoning behind a trial process he intends to follow to the "t".

"A trial is needed because critical facts are in dispute - for example, the extent of discrimination against gays and lesbians, the possible effects on same-sex marriage on opposite-sex couples, and the intent of Prop 8."

Legal analysts argue that the intent of the measure may be the decisive issue.

Attorneys for Prop 8 proponents underscored in their legal brief that the traditional defintion of marriage does not reflect any animus against gays and lesbians.

"It simply reflects that the institution of marriage is, and always has been concerned with promoting and regulating naturally procreative relationships between men and women to provide for the nurture and upbringing of the next generation," he added.

If I wanted to be Devil's advocate  - I might argue on that premise - that gay couples who have naturally-born offspring (with a former spouse, let's say) or adopted children be allowed to marry for the same beneficial reasons.

If barred from doing so, under the circumstances, wouldn't that be discrimination?

In addition to this issue, the court intends to also probe the history and meaning of marriage, the adequacy of domestic parnership as a substitute, and the social political status of gays and lesbians in the community-at-large.

Say, whatever happened to the transgenders?

The searing glare of the spotlight has been on gays and lesbians primarily.

Are they out of the loop, I wonder.

The Prop 8 supporters, in the final analysis, are expecting the worst-case scenario.

For this reason, a rep from Protective Marriage, chided the naysayers.

"Forunately, the last word will come from the nine Justices in the highest court of the land," he smugly noted for the record.

Maybe he needed to do a bit of legal research before opening his yap.

After all, in 2003, the U.S. Supreme Court struck down laws against same-sex sodomy.

As far as legal eagles are concerned, any hint at what action the Justices may take on the issue of same-sex marriages, is blowing in the wind.

Today?

Day two of the controversial trial will shortly be underway at the Federal Courthouse.

See 'ya there!

Bill Clinton...wishy-washy & lacks integrity! Former Prez ignores Prop 8 protests slated for San Diego

Another testy moment for slick Willy!

In spite of the fact Bill Clinton has stated for the record that he opposes Proposition 8, the former President has refused to cancel a speaking engagement ($$$) at a San Diego Hotel on Sunday - owned and operated by businessman David Manchester - who contributed $125,000.00 in support of the anti-gay marriage initiative in California.

Opponents to Proposition 8 have been boycotting the Hotel - in a vocal strident action - which has allegedly resulted in a revenue loss of over $2 million to the smug Hotelier.

Although reputable organizations such as the American Association of Law Schools, the California Nurses Association, and the International Foundation of Employee Benefits have honored the boycott in the recent past by foregoing on following through on events booked at the Manchester, the California State Bar - who have invited slick Willy to elucidate his thoughts on the holiday weekend - won't budge.

A Clinton lackey informed Associated Press that while Clinton's views have not changed on the issue, he intends to honor his commitment to speak.

Of course, this is from the man who has always been wishy-washy to begin with.

Slick Willy was the ingenuous dude who admitted to smoking marijuana - but, not before asserting first - that he did not "inhale".

The former PREZ with the active libido also conjured up a curious slogan for the military when the issue of Homosexuality reared its ugly - um - head.

"Don't ask. Don't tell."

I guess the Lewinski affair inspired that one - at least from Hillary's point of view - I'd speculate.

And, if I am not mistaken, the flim-flam man also also had the audacity to stoop quite low and split hairs when it came time to fess up about his infidelities.

"It depends on what "is" is," he conjectured, with an awkward "caught with his di** in the wringer" sort-of expression on his naughty little school-boy face!

If Mr. Clinton took a defiant stand, instead of sitting on the picket fence once again, he might effect some positive change instead of the same old tripe.

In fact, I just betcha that if Clinton backed out of the commitment this late in the game, while the spotlight is so intense on the issues, his sponsors just might re-think their stance on Proposition 8, don't 'ya think?

But, since the man has no integrity?

Won't happen.

He'll just slink away with his di** hanging limply between his legs, as usual.

"You don't have any ba**s either, Bill."

homosexuality...quote!

Homosexuality used to be the love that dare not speak its name.
Now it is the love that won't shut up!
