Proposition 8...protestors ignore truth. Until role of "blacks" is acknowledged movement is discriminatory in nature!

The other day I penned a post in which I noted that a blogger (Monster 62) alleged in a comment on my blog that 70% of the Black Community voted "Yes" on Proposition 8.

In addition, "Monster 62" proceeded to accuse gays in West Hollywood of being racist, and asserted that it served them "right" for having their bid for "same-sex" marriages denied.

In my response, I put the issue of racism to rest, when I stated a number of facts for the record.

In the final analysis, I also pointed out that - in retrospect - the "black" community apparently stabbed the "gay" community in the back.

As the protests began to heat up in the streets this past week, I continued to report on the issues.

For instance, yesterday I posted a report in which I noted that the "boycott" appeared to be working.

El Coyote restaurant - a target of protestors twice this week - rustled up $500.00 to donate to the cause to overturn Proposition 8.

Today, I was quite appalled when I read in the Los Angeles Times - that at a rally at City Hall yesterday - organizers for the event urged protestors not to blame the black community!

Notwithstanding Monster 62's comments on my blog, exit polls verify that "blacks" voted 2 to 1 in favor of the passing of Proposition 8.

As far as I am concerned, the proposition 8 movement made a turn for the worse yesterday, when their idiot organizers uttered up those comments at the event.

If you ask me - those dim-witted misguided individuals should be strung up by the ba**s (or ti**ies, whichever applies) - and hung out to dry.

If the anti-prop 8 protestors aren't going to recognize the role that blacks played in the passing of the ban on gay marriage in the State of California, then the grass roots movement has suddenly taken a nasty turn for the worse.

In essence - their protests against Mormons (like the one levelled at an El Coyote employee for donating $100 to the Proposition 8 initiative) and Evangelicals and businesses they choose to focus on based on a secret agenda they've mapped out for the cause - amount to outright acts of discrimination - and ultimately - the wrongful harassment of a select few.

Until the anti-prop 8 protestors and organizers recognize the role that blacks played in the passing of Proposition 8 - and place the blame where it rightly deserves to be placed - the movement is not only misguided but a mean-spirited witch-hunt with no credible legs.

Until the organizers (who obviously have sh** for brains) announce their intention to include blacks who voted "yes" on proprosition 8 in their protests along with the others they are currently seeking to openly tar-and-feather in the streets of Los Angeles (and elsewhere) I don't intend to give any more coverage to the ugly meaningless cause.

A number of my friends - and contacts in the media - agree with the stance I've taken, too.

As Merry Browne once noted:

"Preconceived notions are the locks on the door to wisdom."

Barack Obama...to vote down Prop 8?

The other day I was strolling along the strip towards the doughnut shot when I happened to gaze into a store front and came face to face with Barack Obama!

Well, actually, it was a life-size cardboard cut-out of the Presidential hopeful.

I hope that was not a hint, at what is to come, by the way.

After all, American voters need a leader with depth and substance right now.

Obama supporters have set up shop in a comfy space (at Crescent Heights and Santa Monica) with the specific aim of signing up voters - and ultimately - tooting Barack's horn.

Gosh, those gay boys sure know how to decorate on a budget, don't they?

What struck me most about the temporary camp for "The One" was a sign hanging smack dab in the middle of the squeaky-clean picture glass window.

"Vote No on 8"

Does that mean that Barack is supporting the gay community in their cat fight with religious fundamentalists and Evangelicals over the right to marry in the State of California?

Personally - I thought one of the good things about being gay - was that you didn't have to get hitched.

But - for those who pine for the security, comfort, and equal status in the community that tying the knot brings - I'll ask it flat out:

Obama are you going to put out the word with all your supporters that they should Vote No on Proposition 8?

A simple "yes" or "no" to this post will suffice!

Or, are you afraid that if you're caught mingling with homos, Palin's camp might spread a rumor that - in addition to being a "terrorist" - you're a commie fag as well?

Do tell!

Bush Impeachment...approval rate low

Headin' home the other night, I spied a rag-tag band of protesters on the corner of Robertson and Santa Monica Boulevard waving banners high urging that George Bush be impeached...

The rally was strategically-placed, what with Hollywood's Power Brokers supping just down the street a hop-and-a-skip away at the trendy watering hole, The Ivy.

Spies inform me that somewhere down on Crescent Heights, just off the Boulevard, there's also a fresh gang of anti-Bushers ready to sign you up for the push towards impeachment.

Well, it's a last-ditch effort to out the President from the Oval office on the heels of a recent poll which indicates that Mr. Bush's job approval rating is the lowest point in his Presidency to date, according to Associated Press.

Ah, there's always someone around to seize the day!

According to the pollsters, if you look into the mirror and staring back at you is a white, conservative, Republican - an Evangelical who faithfully attends Church Service each week - then you are a George Bush supporter.

Frankly, I'm always amazed when I am out in public and all around me voters are complaining about Mr. Bush - whether it be in respect to the troops in Irag, his alleged corrupt cronies, or abuses of the Patriot Act.

Someone voted for him, I expect. After all, he's in office.

But who will admit?

The poll states that among all age groups the Prez's highest approval comes from the 40's set (that lets me out) and from those who are White and Hispanic (ya got me there).

And, rural folks (nay) warm up to him more than the City Dwellers do.

When it comes to the individual, those who have coupled are more fervently in support.

But, from a territorial perspective, voters in the South and West like the man better, though just by a sliver, or two.

Overall, just one in three Americans give him the thumbs up for a job well done.

Hands down, though, he is experiencing a crushing loss of support with respect to job approval in the political arena: although two-thirds of the Republicans support him, there are no Democrats left waving the Elephant flag.

What will George W's legacy be?

The Jury is still out...
