The Republican Tea Party...a dismal turn-out in San Francisco! Movement on ice...

Sarah Palin has a cowboy mentality @ heart!

The Tea Party's head honchos were anticipating a huge turn-out in San Francisco this past weekend.

Instead of the thousands of innocent lambs expected to meekly show up for slaughter only a couple-of-hundred curious locals drifted into a near-empty foot-ball-sized park in the picturesque Bay area.

Embarrassing, eh?

Had the tea totlers known voter support  had cooled somewhat - and that potential swing ballotters were  inclined to stay away or attend other more entertaining cultural events around town - maybe they would have chosen a venue that was more appropriate - and in particular - capable of at least visually cloaking the awful truth.

The Repupublican Tea Party has lost  steam.

And, he shine is off the once-gleaming "tea" service, too.

What happened?

It appears that the rag-tag gang of upstarts may be capable of boosting the morale of the republicans, but pundits are scratching their noggins and wondering aloud, what good is that?

The tea party has transformed - rolled over, if you will - and become a-bit-of a paper tiger.

Their roar can be heard, but it is doubtful that they will have enough influence to steer voters in their direction.

An old truism applies here:

"You can lead a horse to water, but can't make him drink."

Even Sarah Palin - who attracted crowds on a novelty basis once - is facing a backlash now in the cold hard light of day.

She's a hoot to egg on, but not a candidate worthy of their vote.

After all, Palin  can't serve up any change, fresh leadership, or what-have-you.

A reality check, perhaps.

What America needs is a bright star with the wherewithall to move the country in a spanking-new direction.

In the final analysis - Palin and her hapless cronies - just can't cut it.

Levi Johnston...Bristol Palin to wed! Sarah's Presidential bid...

And, baby makes three!

Levi needs re-programming!

A couple of tabloid news shows had a field day last night - speculating on this 'n that - on the heels of an announcement that Levi Johnston and Bristol Palin are reuniting as lovebirds.

In fact, one insider hinted that wedding bells were about to ring out in the Great White North!

Just a short while ago (in-between stripping down to his skivvies and conducting sly cat-and-mouse interviews with trendy rags for the check-out counter at groceries around the country) Johnston was at the Tea Party Queen's throat going for the jugular.

Why the sudden change of - um - heart?

One pundit's assessment was hilarious.

"Levi is sort-of-a - "Jason Bourne" character - a loose cannon about to go off. He needed to be brought in and fully re-programmed for the next phase of the Sarah Palin agenda."

What might that be, pray tell?

A run for the Presidency, natch!

Maybe, Bristol's recenthigh-profile appearance on a popular reality soap, triggered thoughts of following in her pampered foot-steps by virtue of an in-between-the-sheets co-habitation?

Or, just maybe, Levi pined to be to the manor born when he caught site of Bristol's comfy new digs?

Except for his teen sweetheart, there haven't been many prospects for the plotting Lothario, except for a handful of offers from gay magazines - and horny dudes - anxious to get into his scandalous pants.

Some hint that he's been paid off to toe the Palin line.

Inquiring minds want to know!

News at 11.

For her sake, hope he's got a big one!

Punch but no panache!

Joe Sestak...quote of day!

If you twist it this way...

In a bull sesssion this afternoon on a Network tabloid-style news show - pundits were tossing around their thoughts in respect to the Sestak dilemma and the issue of quid pro quo - when one correspondent had a sort-of Eureka! moment.

On the heels of a remark or two about Bill Clinton's alleged "overture" to Joe Sestak - the clever reporter offered up - what was undoubtedly the quote of the day.

"I guess the offer wasn't inhaled."

I did not offer that man a favor!

National Republican Committee...swing state factors won Tampa bid! Boycott irrelevant...

Opponents of the controversial Immigration Reform Bill in Arizona - spearheading a boycott against the state - were back-slapping and claiming a victory when Republicans announced that Phoenix was passed over in favor of Tampa for the upcoming political convention.

But, the losers jumped-the-gun!

A representative for the Republican National Committee pooh-poohed the notion that the controversy over the illegal immigrant issue figured into the equation.

A panel of committee members chose the swing state with the underlying hope that Florida (with a little arm-twisting) may help them defeat President Barack Obama.

Florida boasts 38 electoral seats, and thus, has a lot of clout in the grand scheme of things.

In fact, because the Sunshine State was the deciding factor that put George W. Bush in the White House, Tampa was the logical choice noted Chairman Michael Steele.

“It was purely a business decision.”

TMZ...Harvey Levin to vote tea party! Octomom triggers switcherooo...

The glare of the spotlight turned on Harvey Levin tonight on TMZ when the O.J. Simpson afficionado lamented that he was going to go with the Tea Party!

Has the gossip referee on the popular mud fest finally warmed up to the swag-loving Queen of the party - Sarah Palin - or what?

Nope!

When a bit of scuttlebutt over Octomom's pending foreclosure became the subject of a gossip segment  - and some theorized the beleageured mom behind the eight ball might go for a bank loan to get herself out of the financial fix - he was livid.

The government bails out the banks with 1 Trillion Dollars.

Then, she gets a hand out?

"No way," he wailed in so many words.

"I'm going with the tea party," he exclaimed with a smug look of satisfaction on his face.

There must be something pretty potent in Harvey's cup to make his brain so fuzzy, eh?

Maybe he'll sober up in the morning!

Me?

I take a wide berth around the political terrain whenever possible.

In fact, when folks ask me if I am a Democrat or a Republican, I quip:

"I'm Canadian."

I'd rather focus on entertainment news (&  titillating gossip) - and grace my web pages instead - with sizzling hot bodacious babes (like super model Heidi Klum) and studly dudes like Kellam Lutz.

How 'bout you?

Sarah Palin...racked up big bucks on shopping spree! Repubs paid through nose...

Republicans had designs on Palin!

She's gonna put us in the poor house!

When the scandal brought last year about Sarah Palin's celebrated make-over (courtesy of the party) - it was assumed that a fashion expert keen on the Republican "image" - rustled up a few select wardrobe pieces for the campaign trail (at which point the parcels were summarily delivered to her Hotet suite in NYC).

On the contrary!

According to John McCain's campaign Manager - Steve Schmidt - Palin was under the impression she was given carte blanche to zip around town to all the toniest boutiques and simply charge away at whim without any budget constraints.

"If Palin's spending on clothes had been  accurately reported during the campaign, the country would have been in an uproar," he sniped in so many words.

At a recent chi chi soiree at the Cut steakhouse( Beverly Hills Wilshire Hotel)  - where celebrated guests included Dolly Parton, Governor Schwarzenegger, Willie Brown and New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd - everyone was all ears when he spilled the beans on Palin on the heels of spiteful comments she made in her book about McCain's right-hand man.

According to Schmidt, her account of things was 100 percent fiction!

Maybe the former ice Queen should be penning dime-store novellas and purple prose?

"She would go into a store, buy everything in sight, and have the bill sent to the Republican National Committee.

"I stopped counting at $250,000.00."

If the clothes were "borrowed" (as the party claimed in their defense) - and turned over to a "charity" -  then some lucky street folks are looking pretty spiffy on the mean streets of the city these days, eh?

Lush scandal kept under wraps!

Levi Johnston...gay Icon according to Behar! Book to reveal Palin lies...

Republicans spring for duds at the Gap

Joy's lack of fashion sense strangles her!

Joy Behar’s interview with Levi Johnston started off innocently enough - but once the young buck established that he was unwilling to dish up a salacious snippet of gossip or two to feather her notorious nest – the treacherous red-head (who brags about being a Bette Midler look-alike to everyone within earshot) was inclined to twist the knife in.

Ouch!

It was painful to watch.

In spite of the vicious attack mode – launched without much provocation out-of-the-blue – Levi kept a cool head.

No innuendo, honest!

In fact, the hapless hottie barely twitched a muscle, when it became quite evident Joy was raising the stakes in the hot seat.

The handsome young woodsman from the wilds of the great white north managed to sit confidently, with hands intertwined on the table top in a manly manner, as a jutting chin underscored the hard veneer beneath the Tinseltown spit-and-polish phoniness beguiling the surface.

Right off the bat, the pushy (classless) talk-show interviewer, questioned the truthfulness of a handful of Levi's mean-spirited takes on the VP hopeful – which ultimately – catapulted the mouthy lad into the International spotlight.

How do you know for a certainty that Crystal was left to her own devices to raise the kids, so that Sarah could selfishly devote herself to the task at hand on the campaign trail?

Levi calmly shot from the hip.

“I stayed at the house for three years and was a witness to what went down," he quipped in so many words.

Turn-about is fair play, so Joy proceeded to broadcast a clip in which perky Palin pointed an accusing finger at Levi for being an absentee father.

In the short interview, the gun-toting mama, accused Levi of being away on his media junkets, pursuing modeling gigs, and appearing for interviews when he should have been more mindful of the burden he was placing on Crystal and their child.

But, in a deceitful effort to avoid giving the appearance of being an interloper and a muck-racker, Palin assured her interviewer that she and the 1st Dude never intervened or harped at Levi over the issues.

"We let them work it out themselves," she noted, as she patted herself on the back.

While that clip was wrapping up on air, Levi reacted with a grunt in the shadows, if I am not mistaken.

At this juncture, the tongue-wagger steered the conversation down a potentially devastating path for Levi – if he took the bait (jail bait?) - that is.

When did the two of you first have sex, she quizzed her startled guest, without blushing.

Levi was nobody’s fool, though, and instinctively sensed it was a loaded question.

After collecting his thoughts, and accessing the situation, he softly noted she was 18.

Good answer, Levi.

When Levi refused to reveal where their first spell of passion took place, Joy tried twisting his arm to wrestle the top secret information out of him.

But, to no avail.

I don't kiss and tell, either.

When it came to the topic of Levi’s upcoming book, the VIEW  hen was shaken (not stirred) by Levi’s inference that there were more delicious revelations on the horizon which may get Palin's t** caught in the wringer.

Because Johnston was tight-lipped – and refused to ferret up any titillating tidbits - Joy went for the jugular out of spite.

So, let’s get to this playgirl thing.

Why didn’t you bare all?

The studio camera focused on racy photos of Johnston off-set – at which point – a handful of crew members and guests let out a few wolf whistles on the sidelines.

“I’m just 18, and I thought I should rethink it, and not do something I’d regret later.”

Of course, there was an easy way out of the fix.

Because he has a child, he could have argued that he didn’t want to pose nude and run the risk of having his child happen across the racey stills in the future when least expected.

At this point, it was pretty obvious to moi that Levi is a pretty smooth character with an innate sense of self-preservation.

Obviously, this was apparent to the hostess (without the mostest) who must have been seething inside; after all, the naive punk got the best of her.

Frustrated,  she proceeded to go for the low blow, and took a swipe at his manhood.

You realize that you’re a gay icon now, she retorted in a slightly derogatory fashion, to a genuinely surprised Levi.

"How does that make you feel?"

Is he less of a man, because of it, Joy?

Unlike the former, Ms. California - who stepped in sh** more often-than-not on the subject of gay issues - Johnston was quick on the uptake.

“They’re people, too. They’re all fans.”

One for Levi, dudes!

His clever response reminded me of an old saying.

“There’s no such thing as bad publicity. All publicity is good publicity.”

Though many Queens might think Levi a cad, it is doubtful they’d kick him out of bed for eating crackers.

Levi may find himself on my worst-dressed list at the end of the month, though.

For starters, the tips on his shirt collar were too large, and out-of-style.

Even still, kudos are due.

The conquering hero sat up straight and confident in his chair and effected a strong masculine presence.

In fact, the Palin black sheep didn’t even twitch, when Joy rolled out the big guns.

"What makes you think your penis is so great that it should be photographed," she asked with all the delicacy of a common street whore.

“Interesting question,”  he responded without blinking an eye.

But a ridiculous one!

An offer to pose nude doesn’t always signal a lone interest in getting a peak at a he-man’s co**.

To many, it’s the overall package (including how a man uses the - um - tools at his disposal)  that is the measure of the man, in the final analysis.

Joy’s focus on di** revealed what a size queen she is.

A large sausage would substitute just fine for her on cold winter nights when the old cougar’s dance card is empty (without doubt!)

It’s doubtful many men (gigolo or not) would go for a cold-hearted bit** like her if they had their druthers anyway, just betcha, folks!

By the way, Karma works in very mysterious ways, Ms. Behar.

Last night, it jumped up and bit you on your righteous a**, and you didn't even see it coming.

In the final analysis, Levi was more skilled at laying traps, than a jaded old city slicker like you, darling.

Palin Lesbian rumors persist!

Barack Obama...heckled by Congressman during Healthcare speech. Insurance for Illegal immigrants? Not...

Barack is no Martin Luther King Junior, Sir!

In the wake of a rude outburst by a Congressman during Barack Obama's much-anticipated speech to the Nation last night on the Healthcare issue - today, in the cold light of day - Republicans and Democrats alike are denouncing the impromptu rebellion as an "extraordinary breach of decorum".

In the midst of asserting to critics that under his intended plan, insurance would not be available to illegal immigrants, the President was cut-short by Representative Joe Wilson who taunted from the bleachers below:

"You lie!"

For Obama-haters, it was a precious moment.

Caught off-guard - and in the obvious throes of mixed emotions - the President had no other recourse but to react with a hilarious "classic" double-take.

Nope, it wasn't a "say what?" moment, at all.

Imagine that, Barack Obama - "old diarrhea mouth" - at a loss for words!

Not a problem for Joe Biden, though, who issued a statement on the heels of the controversy.

"I was embarrassed for the chamber and a Congress I love," Vice President Joe Biden said Thursday on ABC's "Good Morning America."

"It demeaned the institution."

Meanwhile, House Minority Whip (Eric Cantor R-Va)  was quick to stress that the rude interruption was inappropriate and did not reflect the sentiments of the party.

"Obviously, the President of the United States is always welcome on Capitol Hill. He deserves respect and decorum."

Rep. Joe Wilson contacted the White House in a bold-faced effort to apologize to the President personally.

When Obama failed to take the call (for reasons undetermined at press time) Wilson managed to get a word or two in edgewise with the White House Chief of Staff, Rahm Emanue.

According to sources, he apologized.

When asked about the mea culpa, Biden said Thursday, that he hadn't spoken with Obama

"Knowing the president, I'm sure he accepted the apology."

The Republican rebel released the following terse statement to the media.

"This evening I let my emotions get the best of me."

"While I disagree with the president's statement, my comments were inappropriate and regrettable. I extend sincere apologies to the president for this lack of civility."

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, a California Democrat, appeared to be the only sensible politician with her wits about her in the aftermath

"It's time for us to talk about health care, not Mr. Wilson," she quipped to anyone within earshot.

On a nightly news show, an English pundit from across the pond - not only laughed about the incident - but shook her head over the way politicians, the media, and Joe Public alike reacted to the alleged controversy.

"They're always heckling the Prime Minister in England," she giggled.

Hear! Hear!

Well, at least Wilson didn't toss a shoe!

The ultimate insult, eh?

Sarah Palin...white trailer trash! Letterman incident a fiasco...

I'll give that toothy guy my best shot!

Well, the brouhaha over a remark David Letterman made about one of Palin's rat pack last week, appears to have finally blown over.

If you recall, on the late show Letterman uttered up an off-the-cuff quip about Palin's daughter getting "knocked-up" after a brief fling in the big bad city with some high-profile dude who chases skirts.

Palin was allegedly offended by the so-called "crude" remark and demanded an apology.

Initially, Letterman scoffed at the idea of retracting the unflattering barb.

Then, TV's resident late-night bad boy proceeded to play up the brewing controversy, as the ratings revved up in the heat of the nasty spat.

Over-night, though, his cushy world turned upside down as a handful of spiteful Palin followers turned the screws.

Bowing to pressure from CBS higher-ups, and with an eye to squelching impending protests in the mean streets of NYC, Dave finally relented.

However, instead of accepting the apology with little more ado, Palin's handlers seized on Dave's mushy moment to rush in for the kill.

"See, he apologized," they lamented in so many words.

"We were right. Letterman admits what he did was wrong."

Some silly a**hole then made a pitch that Letterman be suspended or fired over the incident.

Talk about petty!

In a turbulent time when banks are failing, unemployment is high, and people are losing their homes, Palin's pack of pit bulls have nothing better to do than focus on such silly piffle?

The truth of the matter is that Palin brought all these woes on herself for failing to implement sex education in the curriculum in Alaska .
Indeed, she never even taught her own children about the birds and the bees, much to their detriment.

In the final analysis?

Sarah Palin and her clan are white trailer trash, no bones about it.

I expect they'll be turning up as guests on the Jerry Springer show any day now the laughing stock of the Nation.

Sarah Palin...butt of RSVP joke! Revolving door politics don't fly...

Something fishy goin' down in Wash DC

According to Jon Vogel, DCCC Executive Director, Sarah Palin is a Capitol Hill joke, again!

"Sarah Palin. She's In, She's Out, She's back in, " he chortled with glee in a dismissive missive the party (Democrat) fired off to fundraisers and supporters bright and early this Tuesday morn.

After all, there was much to celebrate!

A whirlwind (mostly wind) of activity at last night's "big money" fundraising dinner with Newt Gingrich, kept key players dizzy playing the guessing game.

How much moolah would they rake in?

Naw, that was neither here nor there.

The tongues were wagging over Sarah Palin - the Ice Queen - once again!

Palin - after being invited, then disinvited, then re-invited (not re-invented, though) - back-biting pundits were inclined to hold their collective breaths on the sidelines.

Headline or by-line?

Would the Dragon Lady from the (uh) frozen white North manage to manipulate her way into the big top in spite of her fall from Grace way back when?

Yup!

The corridors of power swung the doors open wide for her.

But, why?

Were the power-brokers behind the scenes desperate for a distraction in the wake of the Newt "Sotomayor" debacle?

News at 11!

Barack Obama...last chance to dine with President June 18th! Contribute 5 bucks or more...

Looks like some of the Clinton "style" has rubbed off on the Barack Obama team!

Like slick Willy & wily Hilly before him, Barack is now rustling up campaign schemes to generate big bucks in the Washington arena.

Why not a chance-in-a-lifetime opportunity to dine with "King Tut" himself?

And, on this occasion, James Carville has been trotted out to orchestrate the fundraiser - natch - on the democrat-favored World Wide Web.

Here's a peak an e-mail invitation I just recently from the Obama camp (verbatim) to get you up-to-speed.

Dear Julian,

Just when I thought I've seen everything...

The Republicans have dragged out Newt Gingrich to headline a fundraising dinner.

President Obama and the Democratic Party are leading this country into the future.

Let the has beens and never weres in the Republican Party fight among themselves.

We want you to join us for a different kind of dinner.

No Newts allowed.

There is less than a week for your chance to win a free trip to Washington, DC on June 18th to meet President Obama, have dinner and go home with a photograph with him.

The dinner is on June 18th and the deadline to enter is less than a week away.

Enter now - the more times you give the more chances to win.

Contribute $5, $10, or more and be automatically entered for a chance to win a free trip to Washington DC to join President Obama on June 18th, and go home with a photograph with the President.

Sincerely,

James Carville

P.S. Even if you don't win coming to Washington to have dinner with the President, if you contribute $35 or more, you get a free "Proud Democrat" eco-friendly grocery tote. Act now - the deadline is less than a week away!

A tote that's eco-friendly?

Golly, you suckered me Barack, hook line & sinker.
Count me in!

Oprah, better pass on this high calorie pig-out!

Gay Marriage...legalized in forward-thinking New Hampshire! I do! I do! But, not in sunny California...

As Gays in California languish in the political arena and continue to worm their way through the judicial system over the controversial issue of same-sex marriage, their counter-parts in other states celebrate joyous news!

For example, New Hampshire just became the sixth State in the Union to legalize gay marriage!

It was a tough row to hoe, nonetheless, as activists scrambled to get all their chicks in a row in the final stretch of the "I do!" game.

In spite of the fact Governor John Lynch opposed the move towards same-sex unions in New Hampshire originally, he was inclined to sign the legislation into law once the Senate and the House passed key language on religious rights (hear that, California?).

In a surprise political turn, Lynch stated for the record:

"Today, we are standing up for the liberties of same-sex couples by making clear that they will receive the same rights, responsibilities - and respect - under New Hampshire law."

Analysts on the sidelines speculated that the nod from the State reflected a changing demographic from one that was once Republican and conservative in stance to that of a more liberal view held by younger constituents.

The forward-thinking States of Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, Vermont, and Iowa now allow same-sex marriages recognized by law.

On the heels of the affixing his John Henry to the historical documents, Lynch opined for the record that it was time for the Federal Government to extend full equal rights to same-sex couples around the Nation.

The New Hampshire law goes into effect January 1st (2010).

Happy New Year!

Sarah Palin...owes back taxes! Told 'ya so...

When Sarah Palin first breezed into Washington during the highly volatile presidential race last year, bloggers rubbed their hands with glee!

The frigid Alaskan's stance on the environment, gay marriage - and a myriad of political issues - were so off-the-wall that the wild fodder was inclined to fuel enough tawdry tales to spin into the blogosphere ad nauseam until the next political fool sauntered into the Republican landscape.

At that time, I noted in one post that - in addition to gracing her lithe little beauty Queen bod with fashions funded from her political party coffers - that it was alleged, too, that the wily broad wrongfully billed the Government for expenses with the specific aim of pinching a greenback or two here and there.

Well, contrary to the cries of foul from her supporters, it has just been announced that the little spitfire engine - that couldn't - did cheat on her taxes at the expense of the public purse.

In a nutshell, Palin must pay back taxes on expenses she charged the state while living in her home outside of Anchorage instead of at the state capital.

According to state policy and federal tax laws, per diem payments must be treated as income.

Palin conveniently failed to acknowledge this glaring fact when she filed her return.

Commissioner Annette Kreitzer (Department of Administration) has confirmed the Vice Presidential hopeful's unscrupulous attempt to avoid payment of tax.

Emphasis on "Vice".

The feisty little upstart from the frozen north collected nearly $17,000.00 in per diem payments before she was named McCain's running mate in the 2008 political race.

The expenses were racked up when Palin spent three hundred nights at her home in Wasilla (with the 1st Dude, presumably) - and commuted forty miles each day to her Anchorage office - instead of taking advantage of living quarters provided for in the Governor's Mansion in Juneau.

Don't feel too badly, Sarah!

There's an Obama administration pick on Capital Hill right now who got caught neglecting to fork over scads of bucks to Uncle Sam, too.

Maybe you should have warmed up to old big ears instead of that war-monger born with the silver spoon in his mouth.

'Ya live and 'ya learn, eh?

Bill Cosby...got votes in Presidential race! Will run in 2012?

Well, sure Bill, I'll vote for 'ya...

A few weeks ago, I penned a post on the heels of an e-mail a friend forwarded to me, in which the originator claimed to be Bill Cosby and a write-in candidate for the Presidential election.

In that cheeky post, Bill (?) recited his campaign promises.

After the post was published, it continued to receive quite a few hits as the campaign antics of - McCain, Obama, Biden, and Palin - played out around the country.

In fact, there was an ongoing controversy.

Was Bill Cosby going to be a sign-in candidate, for real?

Or, was it a hoax?

Well, I laughed-out-loud today, when a woman by the name of "Shannon" hastily noted on my blogsite that she did the dastardly deed.

on November 5, 2008 at 8:53 pm shannon

I DID VOTE FOR BILL COSBY AND PROUD OF IT!!!

Do you suppose that when that vote was cast, John McCain began to have his first doubts?

Sarah Palin...shopping scandal! Off with her elephant head...

Last night I was trekking down a side alley heading home just after nightfall when a SUV unexpectedly backed in from the street oblivious to me.

I side-stepped the vehicle just in the nick of time - and waited patiently to one side - for the driver to either continue backing down the lane or surge forward into the street after another automobile passed.

Nada!

The vehicle just sat there - so I was forced to step around it - and venture on to my destination as best I could in spite of the glaring obstacle in my path.

As I maneuvered my way to the front of the vehicle I spied the driver - a woman - applying lipstick in a small pocket-size mirror in the mostly dark interior.

Ah, the female sex. A rare breed, aren't they?

The incident got me to thinking about a screaming headline I caught on the Internet, just before logging off.

Another Palin scandal, of course!

Word leaked out yesterday that the Republicans tossed a staggering $150,000 into a special wardrobe kitty - so that the VP hopeful (and husband Tom and the kiddies) - could wrap their fresh-from-the frozen north bods in designer duds with the specific aim of wowing America with their stately presences.

Golly, am I missing something here?

In defense of the outrageous shopping spree - at the expense of the Republican party - McCain supporter Christy Harbor of Omaha asserted the splurge on high-end fashions was necessary.

"If she had worn crappy clothes, then everyone would have made fun of her."

Gosh, I thought stumping on the campaign trail was about values - not appearances - honey!

Notwithstanding, clothes do not "make" the woman.

Although the Republicans would have you believe they're in touch with the common "Joe", their actions reflect a different reality.

Indeed, the whole vulgar scenario amounts to a slap in the face to most Americans, in view of the financial hardships that have been foisted on them in recent days with the banks and stock markets failing.

It's a sad commentary on the likes of McCain and Palin, too.

What was it that Marie Antoinette cried out just before they cut off her head?

"Let them eat cake."

Yes, history repeats itself.

Vulgar indulgence not in Vogue, Sarah...

Barack Obama...to vote down Prop 8?

The other day I was strolling along the strip towards the doughnut shot when I happened to gaze into a store front and came face to face with Barack Obama!

Well, actually, it was a life-size cardboard cut-out of the Presidential hopeful.

I hope that was not a hint, at what is to come, by the way.

After all, American voters need a leader with depth and substance right now.

Obama supporters have set up shop in a comfy space (at Crescent Heights and Santa Monica) with the specific aim of signing up voters - and ultimately - tooting Barack's horn.

Gosh, those gay boys sure know how to decorate on a budget, don't they?

What struck me most about the temporary camp for "The One" was a sign hanging smack dab in the middle of the squeaky-clean picture glass window.

"Vote No on 8"

Does that mean that Barack is supporting the gay community in their cat fight with religious fundamentalists and Evangelicals over the right to marry in the State of California?

Personally - I thought one of the good things about being gay - was that you didn't have to get hitched.

But - for those who pine for the security, comfort, and equal status in the community that tying the knot brings - I'll ask it flat out:

Obama are you going to put out the word with all your supporters that they should Vote No on Proposition 8?

A simple "yes" or "no" to this post will suffice!

Or, are you afraid that if you're caught mingling with homos, Palin's camp might spread a rumor that - in addition to being a "terrorist" - you're a commie fag as well?

Do tell!

Sarah Palin...guilty of "Abuse of Power". Yup, I feel vindicated...

Lethal dose of Kryptonite (truth) topples Palin...

Yesterday, Fox lodged an in-depth report on the Palin "incident" on their website - and consequently - a post I penned on the Sarah Palin probe based on allegations of "abuse of power" was linked to the Fox Network site.

As a result, there was a big surge in traffic to my blog at wordpress yesterday, as intrigued voters sought out clues on the Sarah Palin fiasco.

One whacko Palin supporter zipped off a message to me - obviously triggered by the fact he was angry with my searing criticism of the VP hopeful - and asserted in that communication that because Palin's camp rushed forward this past week (when all else failed to block the investigation) to conduct their own analysis of the events - that somehow - this established Palin was eager to resolve the issues.

"Don't you feel foolish now?" he snidely remarked in his skitzo communication.

Boy, does that guy need his head examined!

Especially in view of the facts that have unfolded.

On the contrary sir, I feel vindicated.

Since day one, I have been following the Palin story.

Weeks ago, I reported that Palin initially agreed to cooperate with the Legislature's investigation into the matter, until John McCain plucked her out of obscurity to be his running mate.

At that juncture - the stakes got higher - so Palin was obviously forced to re-think her tenuous position.

Then, Palin maneuvered her first flip-flop.

On the grounds that the investigation was turning into a political witch-hunt - manipulated by a handful of democrats with their own agenda - Palin began to vigorously resist the investigation.

When her aides - and husband Todd, too - were served with subpoenas to testify, for instance, they thumbed their noses at the proceedings and defiantly refused to obey the legally-binding court orders.

Desperate - her legal eagles scurried to file a lawsuit in Superior Court in the State of Alaska - in a bold-faced effort to block the proceedings.

Unfortunately (and no doubt due to the glaring facts in evidence) things went seriously awry for Sarah, thereafter.

For starters, the court dismissed the legal action filed by the stalwart Republicans, on the grounds that the Legislature was vested with full jurisdiction to carry out their probe on Palin.

On the heels of this ruling, investigators vowed to surge on with their fact-finding mission, interviews with key witnesses, and what have you.

Yes - it was made crystal clear to the Palin camp - that the investigation would go forward in spite of Palin's deceitful efforts to conceal facts and evidence - with the specific aim of saving her political reputation.

Today, it comes as no surprise, to hear that Palin has been found guilty on all the charges of "Abuse of Power."

First, it should be noted for the record, that investigators acknowledged that Ms. Palin had the authority (as Governor) to fire a State employee.

But, that was never the issue.

However, Palin supporters will put their own spin on that in the next few days, in an underhanded effort to effect damage control.

Ignore it, 'cause it amounts to a lot of smoke and mirrors.

No, it was the manner in which the "firing" was handled, the specious grounds on which the dismissal was undertaken, and the attempted cover-up afterwards that is the real crux of it all.

Right off-the-bat, it's obvious that Palin was guilty of distorting and misrepresenting the facts, in a dishonest ploy to validate her inappropriate unprofessional (illegal) conduct.

For example, from the get-go, Palin plied the bald-faced excuse that the Trooper was ripe for firing because he shot a female Moose without a license.

The investigators determined, however, that Palin did not disclose all the facts regarding the incident.

Palin neglected to point out that the Trooper was in the presence of his wife (who held a license)when the Moose was shot.

One of the investigators noted for the record - that if the Trooper was guilty of some illegal act on that occasion - his wife would be, too.

But, the woman in question was Palin's sister, so the Gov conveniently witheld the information.

That is just the tip of the iceberg, as they say in Alaska, when it comes to the kind of hypocrisy Palin is inclined to daily engage in at whim.

The former beauty Queen often utilized snatches of information to sway public opinion, but often held back on pertinent facts that would clearly establish the opposition's allegations of wrongdoing to be true.

For example, Palin was on-the-rag a lot over the Trooper's alleged misconduct, and gave the impression his wild unpredictable behaviour warranted a "firing".

On this premise, Palin took a leap, and asserted no wrongdoing for her attempted intervention.

However - the nervy little broad neglected to note for the record - that the Trooper had already been investigated - and summarily - disciplined.

In a nutshell, the issues she raised were neither here nor there in the grand scheme of things.

Notwithstanding the foregoing mind-boggling deceits - it was also determined by virtue of the full-scale investigation into the events - that Palin deliberately partook in actions officials warned were illegal.

For instance, Palin installed her husband (Todd Palin) to handle communications over the State Trooper matter, in spite of the fact a State Official made no bones about the fact Todd's dubious involvement was unethical.

That is why the investigators in the recent probe issued a finding - that the contacts were not only a breach of ethics - but tantamount to an "abuse of power".

Specifically, the report noted the following.

"Sarah Palin knowingly - as the term is defined in the (ethics) statutes - permitted Todd Palin to use the Governor's office and the resources of the Governor's office, including access to State employees, to continue to contact subordinate State employees in an effort to find some way to get Trooper Wooten fired."

It is a matter of record that Todd Palin asked to review Wooten's personnel file, too!

Without doubt, Palin also crossed the line because the State Ethics Act holds that public officials have a duty of public trust that prevents them from attempting to benefit a personal or financial interest through official action.

Pursuant to State Law, twelve members of the Legislature's fourteen member Legislative Council, elected to deliberate on their findings in a closed-door session this past week.

After the better part of the day had elapsed, the Council voted unanimously to release the whopping 263 (!) page document to the public.

Curiously, the council is made up of 10 Republicans and 4 Democrats.

That kind of blows to smitherines the allegation by Palin that Democrats were strong-arming the proceedings against her, doesn't it?

Civil penalties for the offenses range from impeachment by the Legislature to a reprimand or fine in the sum of $5,000.00 by the State Personnel Board.

I can hear the protesters in the street crying out now.

Impeach! Impeach! Impeach!

If Palin has any conscience - or sense of decency - she'll bow out of the Presidential Race and give McCain the opportunity to dredge up an appropriate alternative candidate that won't try to hoodwink the American Voter - like Palin has tried to - since day one of her celebrated entrance onto the world stage.
