Sarah Palin...if Fidel Castro likes it? Queen of tea party attacks Obamacare...

What can I say?
(She gives me a boner)

At a rally today in Mesa (Arizona) feisty Queen of the Tea Party - Sarah Palin - stormed the stage and wasted no time launching full-frontal attacks on the "left", "the mainstream media", and even communist leader Fidel Castro!

It was either that time of the month, or Palin was - quite frankly - "mad as hell and not taking it anymore".

At the top of her speech - tirade? - the former gun-toting beauty Queen from the Great White North - didn't beat around the proverbial bush about the impact of the upstarts who have become known as the "Tea Party".

"It's a good thing," she hollered to a packed house of supporters (for the most part) who jumped to their feet and roared their approval.

At one point, when a heckler nearly pushed Sarah to the brink, she held back instead of lashing out and managed to avoid a nasty bit** fight.

After collecting her thoughts, she rustled up an invitation instead (tongue-in-cheek?).

"Stick around, Sir, You might learn something."

When the commotion persisted off-camera - and it appeared from Palin's reaction that supporters were interceding on her behalf in the bleachers - she huffed that it was okay for the individual to speak up.

"That's what America is all about, the right to protest."

I expect someone is cursing security in the aftermath of the embarrassing incident (in spite of the fact Sarah maintained her "cool").

The mere mention of "Obamacare" sent the audience into a tizzy.

Indeed, a loud groan signaled the disgust of tea party afficiandos in the auditorium.

"If Fidel Castro says it is a good thing, then something is wrong," she shouted out to supporters who responded with a raucous round of hoots and hollers.

At this juncture, a scuffle apparently broke out in the crowd, somewhere in front of the podium (off-camera).

"There you go again," she snipped with a touch of anger in her voice.

The incident was glaring enough to cause Palin to seize the opportunity to take pot-shots at the press.

"Now, if there was a fair mainstream media present that might be called violence."

In response to recent allegations over the past week that tea party members were engaged in violence she stressed that it was not the case.

"That's BS."

"We get involved," she added.

"We don't believe in violence."

She accused the Democrats of twisting and distoring the facts and "changing the focus".

Meanwile, John MCain stood behind Sarah Palin with a plastic look plastered all over his face.

Anxious to move on, Palin turned her thoughts to the candidate she was there to support in the upcoming primaries.

"John MCain spoke up. He didn't go with flow."

"Dead fish go with the flow," she quipped.

She's been killing them in Alaska for years, so she should know, eh?

"They say the tea party is the party of  'no'", she hissed.

"Party of 'no', what is wrong with that?"

In fact, she asserted in no uncertain terms, that John McCain was actually leading with "ideas".

"Become part of no?," she quizzed in an afterthought.

"How 'bout - "not just no" - but hell no!"

Sounded like a lot of do-do to me!

At this point, Sarah launched into her proud to be free, ra-ra America, mantra.

"We're not going to apologize for being American."

Before inviting McCain to the podium to address the supporters present, Palin compared the World War II Hero to Ronald Reagan and Barry Goldwater in what amounted to a glowing tribute.

At the mic John McCain gushed that Sarah Palin was simply magnificent.

To avoid the likelihood of throwing up all over the television I flipped the channel.

Talk about rhetoric!

Palin lip service!

Sarah Palin...racked up big bucks on shopping spree! Repubs paid through nose...

Republicans had designs on Palin!

She's gonna put us in the poor house!

When the scandal brought last year about Sarah Palin's celebrated make-over (courtesy of the party) - it was assumed that a fashion expert keen on the Republican "image" - rustled up a few select wardrobe pieces for the campaign trail (at which point the parcels were summarily delivered to her Hotet suite in NYC).

On the contrary!

According to John McCain's campaign Manager - Steve Schmidt - Palin was under the impression she was given carte blanche to zip around town to all the toniest boutiques and simply charge away at whim without any budget constraints.

"If Palin's spending on clothes had been  accurately reported during the campaign, the country would have been in an uproar," he sniped in so many words.

At a recent chi chi soiree at the Cut steakhouse( Beverly Hills Wilshire Hotel)  - where celebrated guests included Dolly Parton, Governor Schwarzenegger, Willie Brown and New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd - everyone was all ears when he spilled the beans on Palin on the heels of spiteful comments she made in her book about McCain's right-hand man.

According to Schmidt, her account of things was 100 percent fiction!

Maybe the former ice Queen should be penning dime-store novellas and purple prose?

"She would go into a store, buy everything in sight, and have the bill sent to the Republican National Committee.

"I stopped counting at $250,000.00."

If the clothes were "borrowed" (as the party claimed in their defense) - and turned over to a "charity" -  then some lucky street folks are looking pretty spiffy on the mean streets of the city these days, eh?

Lush scandal kept under wraps!

John McCain...Matt Lauer puts Senator on hot seat on Today Show! Sarah Palin vetting issue...

That John McCain is a piece of work!

On the heels of the announcement that Sarah Palin has been signed on to be a commentator on Fox News, Matt Lauer put John McCain on the hot seat this morning in respect to allegations set forth in Harry Reid's (Senate Majority leader) just-published book that accuses the Senator of failing miserably in respect to the vetting of the VP hopeful.

The interchange became particularly hostile when Lauer pointedly inferred that Senator McCain didn't even bother to properly research Palin's background before selecting her as a running-mate.

When quizzed about the specifics, John McCain tried to weasle out of the dilemma, by flatly denying any knowledge of any action his staff may have taken in that regard.

"I wouldn't know," he shrugged, as he shifted uncomfortably in his perch on the set.

Lauer was so taken aback by the response, that he was inclined to probe further for additional answers.

"I am surprised," Lauer quipped.

"You were the presidential candidate."

In so many words, McCain proceeded to assert for the record that the former beauty Queen allegedly energized the party.

In addition, he beamed that he was not only proud of Sarah Palin, but proud of the campaign they waged.

In a bold-faced attempt to shut down the line of questioning, McCain was quite adamant that he wasn't going to Sunday morning quarterback at this juncture.

"I have no intention of looking back over what happened a year ago," he smugly retorted.

"I'm sorry, you'll have to get others to comment on it."

Maybe Lauer can dial in to Fox's "O'Reilly Factor" tonight and ask Palin directly, when she makes her first appearance as a news commentator for the controversial Fox network.

Sarah Palin...owes back taxes! Told 'ya so...

When Sarah Palin first breezed into Washington during the highly volatile presidential race last year, bloggers rubbed their hands with glee!

The frigid Alaskan's stance on the environment, gay marriage - and a myriad of political issues - were so off-the-wall that the wild fodder was inclined to fuel enough tawdry tales to spin into the blogosphere ad nauseam until the next political fool sauntered into the Republican landscape.

At that time, I noted in one post that - in addition to gracing her lithe little beauty Queen bod with fashions funded from her political party coffers - that it was alleged, too, that the wily broad wrongfully billed the Government for expenses with the specific aim of pinching a greenback or two here and there.

Well, contrary to the cries of foul from her supporters, it has just been announced that the little spitfire engine - that couldn't - did cheat on her taxes at the expense of the public purse.

In a nutshell, Palin must pay back taxes on expenses she charged the state while living in her home outside of Anchorage instead of at the state capital.

According to state policy and federal tax laws, per diem payments must be treated as income.

Palin conveniently failed to acknowledge this glaring fact when she filed her return.

Commissioner Annette Kreitzer (Department of Administration) has confirmed the Vice Presidential hopeful's unscrupulous attempt to avoid payment of tax.

Emphasis on "Vice".

The feisty little upstart from the frozen north collected nearly $17,000.00 in per diem payments before she was named McCain's running mate in the 2008 political race.

The expenses were racked up when Palin spent three hundred nights at her home in Wasilla (with the 1st Dude, presumably) - and commuted forty miles each day to her Anchorage office - instead of taking advantage of living quarters provided for in the Governor's Mansion in Juneau.

Don't feel too badly, Sarah!

There's an Obama administration pick on Capital Hill right now who got caught neglecting to fork over scads of bucks to Uncle Sam, too.

Maybe you should have warmed up to old big ears instead of that war-monger born with the silver spoon in his mouth.

'Ya live and 'ya learn, eh?

George Bush...regrets Iraq intelligence data incorrect!

Now that the George Bush presidency has started to wind down, the feisty Texan has had the opportunity to reflect a little on his term in office, as he prepares to pack his saddle bags and mosey on back to the ranch.

In an interview with Charlie Gibson on ABC News, the oft-criticized political leader startled viewers around the country when he fessed up about one blunder in particular.

Iraq.

On the highly-rated night-time news show, Bush noted for the record - when asked about his legacy - that his biggest regret was getting the intelligence wrong in Iraq.

"I think I was unprepared for War," he admitted without shame.

Funny that.

In a conversation with a friend the other day, I pointed out that when Bush took office, he was dealt a bad hand.

If you recall, shortly after he took office, 9/ll - an terrorist attack unprecedented in U.S. History - fell in his lap out of the clear blue sky one day.

Bush was inclined to argue further.

"I didn't anticipate War. One of the things about the modern presidency is that the unexpected will happen."

In sum, Bush noted that he didn't campaign with the promise that if the American people voted for him he'd be able to handle an attack.

Fortunately.

John McCain sought votes on that premise and he lost the election!

Bill Cosby...got votes in Presidential race! Will run in 2012?

Well, sure Bill, I'll vote for 'ya...

A few weeks ago, I penned a post on the heels of an e-mail a friend forwarded to me, in which the originator claimed to be Bill Cosby and a write-in candidate for the Presidential election.

In that cheeky post, Bill (?) recited his campaign promises.

After the post was published, it continued to receive quite a few hits as the campaign antics of - McCain, Obama, Biden, and Palin - played out around the country.

In fact, there was an ongoing controversy.

Was Bill Cosby going to be a sign-in candidate, for real?

Or, was it a hoax?

Well, I laughed-out-loud today, when a woman by the name of "Shannon" hastily noted on my blogsite that she did the dastardly deed.

I DID VOTE FOR BILL COSBY AND PROUD OF IT!!!

Do you suppose that when that vote was cast, John McCain began to have his first doubts?

Barack barrels ahead with a predicted Ohio win by major news outlets! Can McCain stop the run-away-train?

Has Barack sealed his fate...

At approximately 7 o'clock (PST) Barack Obama allegedly took hold of the reins of the Presidential race with a landmark win in Ohio.

In sum, the Senator from Illinois appears to be trouncing his opponent, John McCain

Without doubt - the Ohio victory has blown open a trouble spot for McCain - and widened the gap in his bid for the Oval Office.

In an effort to support their theories that McCain may be on the edge of a major slide into oblivion - pundits have reached into the past and pointed to a reality that amounts to the writing on the wall.

No Republican has ever managed to seize the day without capturing the flag in Ohio.

Apparently, crowds are starting to take to the streets in some parts of the country to outwardly express their joy.

At long last, the "change" they have pined for, is slowly but surely coming about?

News flashes continue!

Barack Obama scores big with 5 States...hunkers down for the long haul across the Nation!

Just a few minutes ago, it was reported from reliable sources that Obama has won Wisconsin, New York, Michigan, Minnesota and Rhode Island.

McCain is loping behind with two new prizes: Wyoming, and Alabama.

Those in-the-know are predicting that it will be a swift kill for McCain in North Dakota - as he continues to keep his sights on Florida - a must-win state for the former military man.

News flashes continue!

Obama projected to win Pennsylvania...has won New Hampshire! McCain to take Arkansas?

Although the night is young, as they say, two major networks are projecting that Obama will grab the brass ring in Pennsylvania with all electoral votes.

Without hestitation, though, Obama has been declared a surefire winner in New Hampshire.

On the other hand, the three majors - ABC, CBS, and FOX - are in accord with a victory for McCain in Arkansas.

News flashes continue!

Obama wins Vermont...while McCain is victorious in Kentucky! Women voting Barack's way & a sign of what's to come?

News reports are filtering in now.

Barack Obama has taken Vermont as the voting continues around the Nation.

Meanwhile, John McCain is all smiles with a victory in Kentucky.

Thus far, it appears that six out of ten women have been casting ballots Obama's way, according to reliable sources.

Will the trend continue where Obama has a strong foothold in key states?

Contrary to what voters were saying on record months ago, it appears that about half the caucasians counted so far, have been stumping in McCain's corner with a loud rallying cry.

An early tally on a Nationwide popular vote proved to be this-close with one percent of the ballots counted.

51% for Obama and 48% for McCain at last count.

Stay tuned for news flashes!

Two Thumbs up...it's a hit for someone!

Sarah Palin...image on Internet controlled by invisible hand?

If you're like me, you probably do a search on one of the political candidates now and then - and conduct a quick peruse of "images" - to determine how each is being perceived, represented - and quite frankly - being made fun of in the public arena.

For weeks now, I have noticed somethin' mighty curious!

Although there are scads of doctored stills - and cartoons - taking cracks at John McCain, Joe Biden, and Barack Obama - there are a precious few to take a gander at of Sarah Palin.

In view of all the negative press she's been garnering - regarding ethics lapses, deceitfully billing the state for family expenses, and so forth and so on - I find this highly suspicious.

Is someone monitoring the Internet and surreptitiously "pulling" any image of Palin in the blogosphere that negatively reflects on the Vice Presidential candidate?

If you're going to offer up an argument like - well, she's a woman - sorry!

That one won't hold water.

When Hillary was in the running - there were oodles of unflattering, rude, and insulting images of her all over the Internet - which no one had qualms about chortling over.

Does anyone on the world-wide-web have that kind of power?

Scary thought!

Sarah Palin...shopping scandal! Off with her elephant head...

Last night I was trekking down a side alley heading home just after nightfall when a SUV unexpectedly backed in from the street oblivious to me.

I side-stepped the vehicle just in the nick of time - and waited patiently to one side - for the driver to either continue backing down the lane or surge forward into the street after another automobile passed.

Nada!

The vehicle just sat there - so I was forced to step around it - and venture on to my destination as best I could in spite of the glaring obstacle in my path.

As I maneuvered my way to the front of the vehicle I spied the driver - a woman - applying lipstick in a small pocket-size mirror in the mostly dark interior.

Ah, the female sex. A rare breed, aren't they?

The incident got me to thinking about a screaming headline I caught on the Internet, just before logging off.

Another Palin scandal, of course!

Word leaked out yesterday that the Republicans tossed a staggering $150,000 into a special wardrobe kitty - so that the VP hopeful (and husband Tom and the kiddies) - could wrap their fresh-from-the frozen north bods in designer duds with the specific aim of wowing America with their stately presences.

Golly, am I missing something here?

In defense of the outrageous shopping spree - at the expense of the Republican party - McCain supporter Christy Harbor of Omaha asserted the splurge on high-end fashions was necessary.

"If she had worn crappy clothes, then everyone would have made fun of her."

Gosh, I thought stumping on the campaign trail was about values - not appearances - honey!

Notwithstanding, clothes do not "make" the woman.

Although the Republicans would have you believe they're in touch with the common "Joe", their actions reflect a different reality.

Indeed, the whole vulgar scenario amounts to a slap in the face to most Americans, in view of the financial hardships that have been foisted on them in recent days with the banks and stock markets failing.

It's a sad commentary on the likes of McCain and Palin, too.

What was it that Marie Antoinette cried out just before they cut off her head?

"Let them eat cake."

Yes, history repeats itself.

Vulgar indulgence not in Vogue, Sarah...

John McCain...has doubts about winning Presidential Race!

John McCain inadvertantly revealed, yesterday, that he's not confident he's going to win the Presidential Race when the ballots are tallied in November.

At a rally a scant few hours ago, the doubts became evident, when the presidential hopeful was inclined to preface a promise with four little ominous words: "If I become President".

Before he could venture forth with the rest of his speech, he was interrupted by boisterous supporters, who asserted that he must have misspoke.

"When you become President", they assailed him, in the event he'd lost his grip.

Curious!

Is the former soldier boy just slipping - or is the deep-rooted thought of losing so entrenched in his "being" - that he is unable to wear a mask effectively to the world?

Joe the Plumber...American voters down to "basic plumbing". Who has the best tools of the trade?

All the brouhaha last week about "Joe the Plumber" pretty much said it all.

For the American people, it all gets down to basic plumbing!

As I mulled over the issues, I suddenly recalled an old joke.

This regular "Joe" (no relation to the plumber guy) was on the job one day working around some heavy-duty mechanical equipment when a band of metal snapped off the machine and sliced off his penis.

Well, his fellow workers got him to the hospital faster than you could blink an eye.

Although his life was saved, he lost his much-loved man tool.

While he was recuperating in the hospital, a good buddy stopped in to cheer him up.

"Heh dude, when you're feeling your oats again, I'll take you to a specialist who can implant a fabricated organ that works just like the real thing."

The dude waved him off - and essentially - pooh-poohed the idea.

But, the pal was persistent.

One day - when his friend was out of the hospital and contentedly back at work - an idea hit him like a bolt of lightning.

He'd just take the guy by the hand one day (without revealing their destination) and hoodwink him into meeting with the doctor.

The planned worked.

However, as he sat and twiddled his thumbs in an easy chair in the clinic, he stammered for the words to express how he was feeling about the issue.

"Don't say a thing," the doctor cautioned him.

"I just want you to take a look at something."

At this juncture, the physician pulled open a drawer and revealed a fake eight-inch penis lovingly packed in a plastic wrapper inside.

The dude's eyes lit up.

He was about to say - "yes, let's do it" - when the doc held him back.

"Hold on a sec. Feast your eyes on this."

The doctor opened a second compartment where a ten-inch fake co** beckoned from inside in all its fabulous glory.

"Yes," they guy cried out as he excitedly struggled to get to his feet.

"Hold your horses," the doctor instructed.

"Inspect this here super-duper model."

He then unveiled a twelve-inch man-made male organ.

The worker jumped up ecstatically and shouted out his approval.

"I'll take it. I'll take it. Have you got it in white?"

Sarah Palin...Todd a rat fu**er doing her evil bidding?

Last week - when Sarah Palin barked out at a rally that Obama was a disreputable candidate because he allegedly hung out with known "terrorists" - the old you-know-what hit the fan!

The shocking behaviour gave many the distinct impression - that Palin was no better than a low-class piece of white trash - of the ilk and nature often guesting on the Jerry Springer Show.

Palin must have reeled in shock when the heavens fell down on her head later.

Angry reactions to her ugly campaign tactics - deceitfully conjured up in a bold-faced effort to discredit the leading candidate - were swift and severe.

But, it was a curious incident in the aftermath, that nabbed my attention.

At the tail end of week - a few alleged supporters back East - shouted out a a slew of hateful remarks anonymously from the raucous crowd at a McCain rally.

"Barack is an Arab," one cried out in an accusatory fashion.

On the heels of that shocking outburst, another faceless individual in the crowd, hurled another shocking leveller.

"Barack is a terrorist."

John McCain was quick to quash the ugly accusations, but nonetheless, the whole sorry scenario appeared highly suspect to me.

It was not until Sarah Palin came out on the airwaves - and cast Barack as a candidate with "terrorist" leanings - that any of this vulgar nonsense every hit the campaign trail.

Then, it suddenly hit me, like a bolt of lightning.

Just maybe, Todd Palin was behind it!

If any of you screened the film - "All the President's Men" - then you'll no doubt recall that one of "tricky Dick's henchmen" noted on-screen that his team of nasty rebel rousers (acting on the politician's behalf) often engaged in nefarious tactics to wreck havoc - and ultimately - disrupt the "enemy" camp.

"We rat fu**ked 'em," he laughed gleefully to Robert Redford's character in the film.

In view of the revelations about Todd Palin's questionable conduct in recent days - dredged up by virtue of an in-depth investigation that was held to determine the extent of Sarah's "abuse of power" (and subsequent vindictive nature) - it strikes me he would be the likely ne'er do well to foist this kind of revolting slur on unsuspecting voters around the country.

Sure - I just betcha - the 1st Dude hired a couple of his Alaskan red-neck friends to mingle in the crowd - and shut out the wild falsehoods - to effect damage control.

After all - didn't the Palin folks need to convince the American public that Sarah was not the only one that felt Obama had terrorist ties worthy being leery of - after her foot-in-the-mouth blunder last week?

And, the covert maneuver - if carried out with military-style perfection - would surely rustle up additional accolades for McCain, too.

By stepping in - and denouncing the unsubstantiated accusations of the ugly mob - McCain would end up looking a promising "Commander-in-Chief" with all the right stuff.

Think about it!

Sarah Palin...guilty of "Abuse of Power". Yup, I feel vindicated...

Lethal dose of Kryptonite (truth) topples Palin...

Yesterday, Fox lodged an in-depth report on the Palin "incident" on their website - and consequently - a post I penned on the Sarah Palin probe based on allegations of "abuse of power" was linked to the Fox Network site.

As a result, there was a big surge in traffic to my blog at wordpress yesterday, as intrigued voters sought out clues on the Sarah Palin fiasco.

One whacko Palin supporter zipped off a message to me - obviously triggered by the fact he was angry with my searing criticism of the VP hopeful - and asserted in that communication that because Palin's camp rushed forward this past week (when all else failed to block the investigation) to conduct their own analysis of the events - that somehow - this established Palin was eager to resolve the issues.

"Don't you feel foolish now?" he snidely remarked in his skitzo communication.

Boy, does that guy need his head examined!

Especially in view of the facts that have unfolded.

On the contrary sir, I feel vindicated.

Since day one, I have been following the Palin story.

Weeks ago, I reported that Palin initially agreed to cooperate with the Legislature's investigation into the matter, until John McCain plucked her out of obscurity to be his running mate.

At that juncture - the stakes got higher - so Palin was obviously forced to re-think her tenuous position.

Then, Palin maneuvered her first flip-flop.

On the grounds that the investigation was turning into a political witch-hunt - manipulated by a handful of democrats with their own agenda - Palin began to vigorously resist the investigation.

When her aides - and husband Todd, too - were served with subpoenas to testify, for instance, they thumbed their noses at the proceedings and defiantly refused to obey the legally-binding court orders.

Desperate - her legal eagles scurried to file a lawsuit in Superior Court in the State of Alaska - in a bold-faced effort to block the proceedings.

Unfortunately (and no doubt due to the glaring facts in evidence) things went seriously awry for Sarah, thereafter.

For starters, the court dismissed the legal action filed by the stalwart Republicans, on the grounds that the Legislature was vested with full jurisdiction to carry out their probe on Palin.

On the heels of this ruling, investigators vowed to surge on with their fact-finding mission, interviews with key witnesses, and what have you.

Yes - it was made crystal clear to the Palin camp - that the investigation would go forward in spite of Palin's deceitful efforts to conceal facts and evidence - with the specific aim of saving her political reputation.

Today, it comes as no surprise, to hear that Palin has been found guilty on all the charges of "Abuse of Power."

First, it should be noted for the record, that investigators acknowledged that Ms. Palin had the authority (as Governor) to fire a State employee.

But, that was never the issue.

However, Palin supporters will put their own spin on that in the next few days, in an underhanded effort to effect damage control.

Ignore it, 'cause it amounts to a lot of smoke and mirrors.

No, it was the manner in which the "firing" was handled, the specious grounds on which the dismissal was undertaken, and the attempted cover-up afterwards that is the real crux of it all.

Right off-the-bat, it's obvious that Palin was guilty of distorting and misrepresenting the facts, in a dishonest ploy to validate her inappropriate unprofessional (illegal) conduct.

For example, from the get-go, Palin plied the bald-faced excuse that the Trooper was ripe for firing because he shot a female Moose without a license.

The investigators determined, however, that Palin did not disclose all the facts regarding the incident.

Palin neglected to point out that the Trooper was in the presence of his wife (who held a license)when the Moose was shot.

One of the investigators noted for the record - that if the Trooper was guilty of some illegal act on that occasion - his wife would be, too.

But, the woman in question was Palin's sister, so the Gov conveniently witheld the information.

That is just the tip of the iceberg, as they say in Alaska, when it comes to the kind of hypocrisy Palin is inclined to daily engage in at whim.

The former beauty Queen often utilized snatches of information to sway public opinion, but often held back on pertinent facts that would clearly establish the opposition's allegations of wrongdoing to be true.

For example, Palin was on-the-rag a lot over the Trooper's alleged misconduct, and gave the impression his wild unpredictable behaviour warranted a "firing".

On this premise, Palin took a leap, and asserted no wrongdoing for her attempted intervention.

However - the nervy little broad neglected to note for the record - that the Trooper had already been investigated - and summarily - disciplined.

In a nutshell, the issues she raised were neither here nor there in the grand scheme of things.

Notwithstanding the foregoing mind-boggling deceits - it was also determined by virtue of the full-scale investigation into the events - that Palin deliberately partook in actions officials warned were illegal.

For instance, Palin installed her husband (Todd Palin) to handle communications over the State Trooper matter, in spite of the fact a State Official made no bones about the fact Todd's dubious involvement was unethical.

That is why the investigators in the recent probe issued a finding - that the contacts were not only a breach of ethics - but tantamount to an "abuse of power".

Specifically, the report noted the following.

"Sarah Palin knowingly - as the term is defined in the (ethics) statutes - permitted Todd Palin to use the Governor's office and the resources of the Governor's office, including access to State employees, to continue to contact subordinate State employees in an effort to find some way to get Trooper Wooten fired."

It is a matter of record that Todd Palin asked to review Wooten's personnel file, too!

Without doubt, Palin also crossed the line because the State Ethics Act holds that public officials have a duty of public trust that prevents them from attempting to benefit a personal or financial interest through official action.

Pursuant to State Law, twelve members of the Legislature's fourteen member Legislative Council, elected to deliberate on their findings in a closed-door session this past week.

After the better part of the day had elapsed, the Council voted unanimously to release the whopping 263 (!) page document to the public.

Curiously, the council is made up of 10 Republicans and 4 Democrats.

That kind of blows to smitherines the allegation by Palin that Democrats were strong-arming the proceedings against her, doesn't it?

Civil penalties for the offenses range from impeachment by the Legislature to a reprimand or fine in the sum of $5,000.00 by the State Personnel Board.

I can hear the protesters in the street crying out now.

Impeach! Impeach! Impeach!

If Palin has any conscience - or sense of decency - she'll bow out of the Presidential Race and give McCain the opportunity to dredge up an appropriate alternative candidate that won't try to hoodwink the American Voter - like Palin has tried to - since day one of her celebrated entrance onto the world stage.

Center for Media Democracy...launches new web site! A safeguard for U.S. Elections...

The non-profit non-partisan Center for Media and Democracy (CMD) has launched a spanking-new website.

According to its Executive Director (John Stauber) - in an e-mail communication this afternoon - CMD has breathed life into the online forum to "safeguard the fairness and integrity of US elections by using the power of citizen journalism."

What Mr. Stauber and his staff describe as an "Election Protection Wiki" is now online for web surfers to take a gander at.

The organizers assert that the ultimate goal is to ensure that citizens, journalists and government officials are able to actively monitor the electoral process in all fifty states and the District of Columbia in the upcoming election.

CMD (Center for Media Democracy) and its community of volunteer editors will continue to improve, expand and update the welcome new offering beyond election day on November 4th.

The Election Protection "Wiki" is part of CMD's award-winning SourceWatch.org website and operates on wiki software which allows anyone who registers on the website to participate in creating and updating articles.

SourceWatch contains in-depth articles on every member of (and most candidates for) the US Congress at one of their sites (Congresspedia.org).

CMD has employed both professional and volunteer editors to ensure articles are accurate, fully documented and fair.

According to sources, CMD is not affiliated with any political party.

On record, though, CMD has not pretended to lack opinions or a point of view.

For example, the organizers have openly stated their opposition to "the barriers and distortions of the modern information environment that stem from government and corporate-dominated hierarchical media."

Sources confirm that CMD favors "grassroots citizen activism that promotes public health, economic justice, ecological sustainability and human rights."

Allegedly CMD does not accept corporate, labor union or government grants and maintains a lists of financial supporters on its website.

One vocal critic, ActivistCash.com (a website run by the Center for Consumer Freedom) describes the Center for Media and Democracy as "a counterculture public relations effort disguised as an independent media organization.

On the other hand, CMD has labelled - activistCash.com - "a front group for the restaurant, alcohol and tobacco industries."

In their news release, CMD asserts that it was prompted undertake the current task because past elections have been rife with upsets that have sparked controversies and disputes which have given rise to voter discontent.

Since that time, however, scores of individuals have been working tirelessly to reform US elections. Part of the exhaustive process has been to issue in-depth reports and information relevant to the issues on topics such as electronic voting machines, voter suppression campaigns and student voting rights.

However - because the information has oftentimes been spread across a myriad of websites, news sources and databases - CMD elected to take it upon themselves to launch the new site to unite forces in one fell swoop.

In sum, the "Election Protection Wiki" hopes to provide a single web portal for accessing data - that is promised to be - straightforward, comprehensive, reliable, and unbiased in content.

Because the information is non-partisan and factual - anyone of any political persuasion will be able to access the data - or use it to protect the rights of American voters in the future, CMD contends.

Check it out!

John McCain...Top Gun! Not. Cocky Pilot? Uh-huh...

Cocky young Maverick flew by seat of pants...

As the reports filter in about John McCain's days as a fighter pilot, the reminisces start to sound a lot like a page or two out of the feature film script - "Top Gun" - which starred Cruise and Kilmer a couple of years back.

There's a lot of talk that Johnny was a real cocky son-of-a-bit**.

Like the character Maverick - in the film - McCain was inclined to push the envelope, fly by the seat of his pants, and take uncalculated risks.

Oftentimes, just like Cruise's character, McCain went down in flames.

And, that is the subject of some debate, now.

In his biography, McCain would prefer to look back - not in anger - but through rose-colored glasses.

But, frankly - to some - his recall of events is shameless.

Or, is he just having a Senior moment?

For instance, the presidential candidate's recollection of events surrounding one hairy airplane mishap, was way out-of-whack.

"The engine quit while I was practising landings," he noted matter-of-fact, on the written parchment.

At least O.J. Simpson was clever enough to try to determine if there were any witnesses to the events before he opened his mouth in defense when his latest fiasco with the law went down in Las Vegas.

In this instant case - an investigator who witnessed the events - is quite adamant there wasn't any inexplicable engine failure as alleged by the wrinkly old dude.

In fact, investigators came to the conclusion that McCain wasn't on the ball.

In the opinion of the experts, the accident occurred because the power setting on the instrument panel was too low to maintain level flight in a turn.

Well, every Maverick is capable of running some interference, now and then.

But three times, you say?

According to informed sources in the Navy, that number is accurate.

In each instance, investigative teams faulted McCain for error in judgment.

It has taken wild horses to drag the facts out of him, though.

In one stinky incident - silly clowning around while operating expensive Government equipment - resulted in a near calamity.

Should American voters give him a crack at Air Force 1?

In a Skyraider aircraft in Southern Spain, for instance, he flew into electrical wires which caused a black-out.

A miscalculation caused a T-2 trainer jet in Virginia to crash, in another incident he downplayed, too.

By Naval standards - the three nail-biting incidents were cause for concern - according to a former air force pilot, Michael L. Barr.

Mr. Barr is an Internationally-known aviation safety expert who teaches at the USC Aviation and Safety Security Program today with 137 combat missions in Vietnam under his belt.

In the case of any pilot - three troubling mishaps - would definitely signal sloppy flying skills and a lack of sound judgement, for sure.

In large part - the problem stemmed from a tendency on the part of McCain - to be overconfident, cocky, and a fearless risk-taker at the Government's expense.

In the final analysis, the ballsy flyer over-estimated his limited skills.

Yup, a swinging di** got in the way.

But, high connections in the right places, prevented McCain from getting the axe.

Because McCain fell under a long line of Admirals in a family way, inestimable privileges were bestowed upon the handsome young buck.

The facts support the contention, today.

On occasion, for instance, McCain savored dalliances at the Captain's table, while fellow officers languished in cramped quarters below deck.

In another glorious Kodak moment, McCain was handed the prestigious task of maneuvering a commemorative landing on the deck of the Enterprise.

Fortunately, he didn't have to bail out last minute.

According to Maurice Rishel - who commanded McCain's VA-64 Squadron in early 1961 when it was deployed in the Mediterranean - the unit nick-named the kid "Ace McCain".

Although he was a spoiled brat (born with a silver spoon in his mouth) he did his job, Rishel confessed without any qualms.

Just like John Kerry before him, foes are getting out the hatchets to bury one in McCain's back, after-the-fact.

Uh-huh.

Where Eagles dare, heroes fall.

For McCain, though, ignorance is bliss.

He'll ride through it all unscathed, I just betcha.

After all, that soldier boys's got missiles up his a**.

Just like in the movies, John always got the girl..

Sarah Palin...photo of VP hopeful has negative impact according to Neuroscientists!

Cognitive neuroscience signals wrong message to send...

When I opened up the morning paper and spied a photograph of Sarah Palin supporters carrying placards displaying an image of the VP hopeful flexing her bicep, I laughed out loud.

Talk about synchronicity!

Just last night, I attended a lecture by Dr. Irving Biederman, the respected Harold W. Dornslife Professor of Neuroscience at USC.

The focus of the talk was on the neural basis for aesthetics.

During the course of the discussion, Dr. Beiderman displayed a handful of images on the screen which resulted in negative interpretable experiences for the subjects tested.

Curiously, a photograph that scored low on the test as a pleasurable experience, was the one that depicted a man flexing his bicep, and strikingly similar to the one Palin supporters are displaying on their placards!

Of course, the promotion is a take-off on "Rosie the Riveter".

Even still, I don't expect that the Palin camp is aware that the image they're touting is - undoubtedly, in view of the scientific research - turning off the voters they are trying to reach!

Again, it appears that John McCain and his handlers, failed to do their homework.

"Never underestimate the power of stupid people to do stupid things in large groups."

Not a lipstick pig by any stretch of the imagination!

Sarah Palin...the Devil according to a Gelson shopper. Tom - um - Todd inconsequential!

Butch cohorts ready to tattle on Sarah's locker room indiscretions...

Last night as I headed to the cash register at Gelson's, a middle-aged blond woman was in a tirade at the check-out stand.

"She's the Devil," she rasped to a thin fey man next to her in line.

I stopped and asked her dead-pan,

"Are you kibitzing about Sarah Palin?"

"Yes," she shouted gleefully in response.

"See, you didn't even have to reveal her name and I knew who you were talking about."

All the shoppers within earshot roared!

Although voters may be gushing over the VP hopeful in some republican quarters around the country- in this neck of the woods - Palin's pretty much a party joke.

Meanwhile, husband Tom is viewed somewhat tepidly.

Yeah, I know hubby's name is actually Todd.

In a post yesterday, I referred to him as Tom to subtly infer just how inconsequential he is, but the joke went over a few people's heads.

Voters just can't seem to remember what's-his-name.

Or, maybe they just can't be bothered making the effort?

However, Mr. Sarah did rankle a few jangled nerves, when it was learned that he often clicked open confidential e-mails meant for the salacious eyes of the Gov only.

Just stick to the Iron Man competition Tom - uh - Todd!

Or, whatever the strength endurance test is called up there in the great white north.

Most importantly, though, keep your hand out of the Government cookie jar.

Only one freeloader per household, got it?
