Sarah Palin...Judge orders injunction against Gawker Media! Book Excerpts a no-no!

No sneak previews of Sarah Palin's new book - America By Heart - if the feisty "Alaska" reality star has any say in it!

When Palin's handlers spied unauthorized excerpts of the her latest offering on a Gawker Media web site at the tail-end of this week, they were quick to petition the Court for a temporary restraining order to halt the material from being reviewed by curiosity-seekers on the Internet (sans pay).

U.S. Distict Judge Thomas P. Greisa found merit in the pleadings submitted to the bench and issued an injunction after Palin's publisher (HarperColins) filed a lawsuit for damages in Federal District Court.

In response - Gawker staffers countered that there was no wrongdoing on their part - pursuant to applicable fair use clauses under U.S. Copyright Law.

Notwithstanding, the Palin material went "poof" (disappeared from the site) for some inexplicable reason.

Jet Blue...$119.00 sale! Fly frigid skies with Sarah Palin!

Jet Blue officials have announced they'll be ceremoniously launching flights into Sarah Palin's frigid skies - auspicious by Hollywood standards - starting May 26th (2011).

As Ms. Palin throws-open her scandalous folksy back-woods-door to white trailer trash around the country - by virtue of a reality TV vehicle fathomed up by demon meister Mark Burnett - Jet Blue has opted to jump into the eye-of-the-icy-storm - too - with its bid to schedule routes to the great White North.

Now, Palin fans - hooked on the tawdry low-brow soap that is her scripted scatter-brained life - will probably venture forth on a tour under the Northern Lights (even plunk down some cash to go ice fishing, perhaps).

To rustle up interest in the spring thaw, Jet Blue is having a seat sale featuring one-way flights, for a paltry $119.00 a pop.

The limited offer takes off tomorrow/

I expect passengers will be sipping on tea tea - in flight - to keep their innards warm (though hot toddies sound pretty awesome to moi).

Ironically,  the Jet Blue birds jets out of Long Beach (where the Queen Mary Royally rests in harbour now) to Alaska where another Queen (of the Tea Party variety) holds court in the land of the Eskimo and big game hunting!

Although adventurers may have to pay through the nose, die-hard fans of the political upstart, will probably cough up the dough pronto.

You only live once, eh?

I expect there will be tours of the middle school she romanced the1st stud at, an up-close peak at the stage where she grabbed for the brass ring at an annual Beauty Pageant, in addition to action-packed sled treks through the winter wonderland.

To use one of her own best phrases, you betcha!

Sarah Palin...outrage over neighbour's spying prompts fence building...

Tough broad fights back!

Sarah Palin is on the warpath!

A relative calm prevailed over the woodsy community - where she presides in Alaska - until an unexpected stranger moved in to the cottage next door.

When the identity of the new tenant was revealed, Ms. Palin was inclined to spring into attack mode.

As it turns out, the mysterious tenant was none other than author Joe McGinniss who is currently penning an unauthorized biography on the former VP hopeful, Sarah Palin,

"He's invading my privacy," charged Palin, after capturing Mr. McGinnis on film gazing in the direction of her home.

Sarah hinted at foul play on her facebook page while  friends, fans, and supporters lent a sympathetic ear.

Mr. McGinniss's publisher assured members of the press that his client would be respectful of Ms. Palin's privacy.

When asked, a handful of the locals labeled McGinniss's behavior "creepy",

In response to the "intrusion", Palin's husband opted to go his own way to resolve the problem.

Early this morning, neighbours were greeted with a fence along the edge of the property, which has essentially blocked McGinniss's ability to "peep" in the future.

One reporter, anxious to hear the author's side of things, strolled up and knocked on the writer's door.

Although McGinniss was inclined to come to the door, he threatened in no uncertain terms that if the employess of the TV station didn't get off the property, he'd sick the local police on them.

The book is titled - "The Year of Living Dangerously - " which I find ironic since it appears to be starting out that way.

Isn't there an ordinance that restricts the height of fences in residential areas in Alaska?

Author McGinniss got eye on Sarah Palin!

Jay Leno...Sarah Palin (hilarious) quote of day!

In a one-on-one interview last night on cable, Jay Leno was free-wheeling - and had no qualms about fielding questions - in respect to his new career direction, family life, and plans for the future.

At one point, though, when he was asked his take on the Sarah Palin resignation, he paused a moment to reflect on the issue before responding.

First, he prefaced his response by noting that he didn't quite "get" her reasons for walking away early from her term as Governor of Alaska.

But, he saw light at the end of the tunnel in the event Palin intended to follow through on her aspirations to run for President in 2012.

"Sarah was a contestant in a pageant," Leno started off slowly.

"If she ran for President, it would be the first time a beauty Queen may have the opportunity to realize World Peace."

I nearly fell out of my bed laughing.

But, frankly, it's true!

Sarah Palin...a winkie wanker? Nah, it's neurosis, dude!

Much ta-do has been made in recent hours about a sly wink that Sarah Palin appears to be levelling across the uneven playing field in political jaunts around the country.

Just when voters are sure to get a bead on her meanderings - yup - thar she goes again!

Wink!

Is she on the make?

If it kicks off with a come hither look first, perhaps!

If so - does she have her sights set on anyone in particular - or is the 1st Dude's hubbie just out for a wild 'n crazy cluster fu**?

Years ago, Carol Burnett used to tug on one ear lobe.

And, it stirred up a hornet's nest of speculation with the viewers at home.

Was it a message to a secret beau that she'd saunter by later when the cast were out of sight?

Or, maybe TV's funny-lady was just checking to ensure that a snazzy diamond earring hadn't fallen into the front row without warning during some last-minute high-jinks on stage before the close of the popular variety show?

Turns out, the lobe stroke was a signal to her Mom at home!

In the instance of the VP hopeful, I expect she's just a winkie wanker.

What's a wanker?

The dictionary describes it this way:

Main Entry:

wank·er

1 chiefly British; usually vulgar: a person who masturbates

2 chiefly British; usually vulgar: jerk, contemptible, dolt

According to the dictionary, a wink means:

Main Entry:

1wink

1 to shut one eye briefly as a signal or in teasing

2 to close and open the eyelids quickly

3 to avoid seeing or noting something

4 to gleam or flash intermittently : twinkle winking in the sunlight

Anyone who wunks that often in a wicked crowd of wanton whirling dervishes - politicians, pollsters, and lobbyists (and the like) - is neurotic, though, if you ask me!

But, the winks could mean a couple of things, in view of the foregoing.

Perhaps she's signalling some masturbator that's she hot-to-trot.

Or, she's flashing a sly message to voters that she finds 'em contemptible.

Just maybe, on the other hand, she's subliminally letting people in the audience know she's got to twinkle, so they'd better move along with the debate.

Just put up your hand, Sarah, and ask if you can take a trek to the ladies room.

It's a good sign, actually.

When the phone rings at 3 a.m. in the morning in the White House, world leaders won't have to worry if they roused Sarah out of a funky slumber.

Yeah, they'll know the former Beauty Queen was up and down all night with a weak bladder.

Have you tried cranberry juice, Sarah?

Sarah Palin...the Devil according to a Gelson shopper. Tom - um - Todd inconsequential!

Butch cohorts ready to tattle on Sarah's locker room indiscretions...

Last night as I headed to the cash register at Gelson's, a middle-aged blond woman was in a tirade at the check-out stand.

"She's the Devil," she rasped to a thin fey man next to her in line.

I stopped and asked her dead-pan,

"Are you kibitzing about Sarah Palin?"

"Yes," she shouted gleefully in response.

"See, you didn't even have to reveal her name and I knew who you were talking about."

All the shoppers within earshot roared!

Although voters may be gushing over the VP hopeful in some republican quarters around the country- in this neck of the woods - Palin's pretty much a party joke.

Meanwhile, husband Tom is viewed somewhat tepidly.

Yeah, I know hubby's name is actually Todd.

In a post yesterday, I referred to him as Tom to subtly infer just how inconsequential he is, but the joke went over a few people's heads.

Voters just can't seem to remember what's-his-name.

Or, maybe they just can't be bothered making the effort?

However, Mr. Sarah did rankle a few jangled nerves, when it was learned that he often clicked open confidential e-mails meant for the salacious eyes of the Gov only.

Just stick to the Iron Man competition Tom - uh - Todd!

Or, whatever the strength endurance test is called up there in the great white north.

Most importantly, though, keep your hand out of the Government cookie jar.

Only one freeloader per household, got it?

Tipsy Todd toed Trooper's line...

Palin...Who's Sarah? Charlie Gibson to probe Ice Queen on ABC!

Gibson insightfully probes Reeves on acting techniques...

Shortly after McCain announced his pick for VP, the sh** hit the fan!

In fact - there was quite a furor on the Internet over the next few days - as a couple of scandals were uncovered and rivals reared their ugly heads - spilling the ice flows on the Vice Presidential hopeful's tawdry past.

Consequently - in the wake of the brouhaha - Sarah was quickly scuttled away from the prying eyes of the media (interviews with Larry King and others were squelched) and a protective (impenetrable) shield was erected around the top-heavy controversial candidate.

To many, it appeared that Palin's big "coming out" speech was carefully ghost-written to conjure up the images of a wholesome "hockey" mom, totally blemish-free.

Yup, Sarah's just one of a handful of regular folks, out to steadfastly pursue her civic duty.

But, the fact that her handlers were reticent about unleashing her to the media - without advisers and political coaches in tow - signalled trouble in Camelot.

Could Sarah be trusted to open her fat yap without destroying the stellar construct the republicans were rehabilitating for her to inhabit?

We'll know soon enough when Charles Gibson - at ABC News - interviews the elusive State Trooper-hater in just about a nano second.

Charles Gibson?

Is the aw-shucks good-guy newsie capable of crafting the kind of hard-hitting questions capable of wrestling the "goods" out of the effervescent gun-toting anti-abortionist charmer?

With that in mind, I've rustled up a handful of probing questions, sure to engender a quick reveal on the Palin mystique.

1. Are your ubiquitous specs for show or are you blind as a bat?
2. What does Caribou meat taste like in five native words or less?
3. Do you sleep in the buff?
4. What attracted you to Tom - personality, man tool, smarts?
5. Do you ever regret being uprooted to Icetown, USA?
6. Was son Tackle conceived on a fishing jaunt?
7. Your modus operandi in bed is self-control or out-of-control?
8. Where do you pack your pistol on the campaign trail?

I trust the answers will be forthcoming without need of a subpoena!

Is that a banana in your pocket, or are you happy to see me?

Sarah Palin...the lady is a c**t!

Now I have to go suck d**k...

When the news about Sarah Palin's pregnant daughter broke last week amid a hornet's nest of controversy, Barack Obama responded like a gentleman.

"Families are off-limits," he noted matter-of-fact to a gaggle of reporters anxious for a scoop.

The Democrat's presidential hopeful acted in good taste and refused to "go there".

In spite of the kindness, Palin took the stage in the two-faced - um - twin cities - and proceeded to take nasty pokes at the well-mannered Senator from Illinois.

She derided the publication of his two books, scorned the staging of his big speech at the Democratic National Convention in Denver last week - and likewise - tore into him on the pervading question of hands-on "experience" in the political arena.

Yes, that was the thanks tossed his way for displaying a modicum of decorum, in a crucial moment of support.

Let's face it, the lady (and I use the term loosely) is a c**t!

Although Barack's advisers have instructed that he handle his female opponent with kid gloves - for a myriad of reasons - I highly recommend the opposite.

In view of her bit**y behaviour at the National Convention - I wholly recommend Barack slip on a spritely-colored pair of boxing gloves - and deliver up a fatal knock-out punch pronto!

But - the upstart from icy Alaska - did not restrict her attacks to the Democrats.

She levelled her shotgun and took potshots at the media, too.

"Here's a little news flash for all those reporters and commentators," she chortled to the packed house of freeloaders in the convention hall.

"I'm not going to Washington to serve their good opinion. I'm going to Washington to serve the people of this great country."

For starters, would that be the one that she tried to secede from?

No matter.

In the intense glare of the spotlight, Palin established just how stupid she really is.

Although she may not be trying to curry good favor with the media, she should have been mindful of one important fact.

The republicans (especially Palin) are going to have to rely on those reporters and newsies - she looks askance at - to get the party message "out".

Yup - the waddling Walrus from the great white north - just stepped in another pile of Caribou dung.

And, I expect there are a handful of mischievous media rats, ready to rub her nose in it, too.

According to my sources, bright and early this morning, a hard-core battalion of journalists around the country have already taken their knives out.

Notwithstanding the foregoing, I laughed-out-loud this morning, when I noticed that a handful of the dailies were reporting that Palin was well-received under the big top.

Heh, guys!

She was thick in the republican camp.

Don't you think the wranglers and the handlers and the party lackeys - revved up the crowds prior to show-time -in a dazzling bold-faced effort to make a good show of it for Joe Public tuning in on the boob tube?

What a hollow effort!

Savvy voters are already keen to the fact that Palin's just a nasty pit bull tarted up with a smidgen of lipstick, a reformer when it comes to changing her mind on issues that don't fit well with her self-serving interests down-the-road, and a consummate pro when it comes to horse-whipping, spinning lies, conjuring up tall tales about her glory days up north, engaging in clandestine cover-ups, and so forth and so on.

In sum, she's just another corrupt politician in a party dress!

The party is over...

Sarah Palin...Gov's deceitful attempt to "hold over" investigation 'til after election!

Hold on to your seat belt, it's going to be a bumpy ride...

On the heels of scandalous news reports that Sarah Palin sought to have an Alaskan State Trooper fired - and that there is a pending investigation to determine the extent of wrongdoing on the Governor's part - republican hatchet-men have sprung into the fray in a deceitful effort to protect their Vice Presidential hopeful.

Palin's pit bulls have not only begun to fight the allegations tooth and nail - but have demonstrated in the past twenty-four hours - their willingness to pursue whatever dishonest tactic is necessary to thwart full disclosure prior to election night.

Yesterday, for instance, a Palin aide refused to give a deposition to a legislative investigator reviewing the circumstances around the Trooper "incident".

Is this the kind of dubious conduct an innocent witness (with nothing to hide) would normally engage in when facing a straightforward government probe out to seek the truth?

In my estimation, no.

Then, a Palin attorney not only proceeded to question the jurisdiction of the proceedings, but fired off a missive asking that the State suspend the Palin investigation until the jurisdictional issue could be resolved.

If the powers-that-be grant the the suspension - any findings regarding an abuse of power by Palin - would not be released until after the election.

The republicans are not only acting dishonestly - but, in the process - trying to pull a fast one on American voters.

If Palin has nothing to hide - and is not guilty of any wrongdoing - why doesn't she hasten the investigation so that any doubts the public may have about the issues in question may be quickly laid to rest?

The fact that - Palin, her handlers, and key players in the republican party - are seeking to stall and delay the proceedings - signals the obvious:

Palin hasn't come clean about her conduct in respect to the State Trooper.

And, she doesn't want the revelations to come to light until she's (hopefully) safely entrenched in her post at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

Does she think she's fooling anyone?

As Maureen Murphy once said,

"The reason there are so few female politicians is that it is too much trouble to put makeup on two faces."

Into the Wild...middle-of-the-road film entertains! Sean Penn directs...

When I was 17, I attended a "free college" where students were permitted to determine their own courses for their degree programs.

In addition, the housing for the experimental school was set up in an ashram situation, so that the students were thrown together in a community-style setting so that aspects of the day-to-day routine could be incorporated into the learning experience.

For its day, the concept was novel and forward-thinking, and did much to formulate a number of my vital ideas about society and the human condition.

One day, a visitor to the College sat down next to me in the common room, and we engaged in a long-winded philosophical talk.

At the end of our conversation the gentleman (about fifteen years older than myself) took out a pen and paper, jotted down a few words, and then handed over the note.

As he strode off chuckling, I glanced down at his comments and was struck dumb.

After a bit of meaningless rambling he remarked in a somewhat angry tone:

"You are a product of the petite bourgeoisie, and until you rid yourself of the sins of your capitalistic parents, your soul will know no rest."

I was thunderstruck!

The words often return to haunt me; subsequently, to this day I often reflect on their meaning.

So - when the opening scenes of "In the wild" (Sean Penn directed) unfolded on the screen - the origins of the emotions of the Chris McCandless character were easy to fathom.

An innocent seeking the answers, he was obviously troubled by the emphasis his parents placed on "things" material, and the importance of outward appearances.

Without doubt, the young lad (fresh out of College) was also troubled by the lies and half-truths that his parents engaged in and the gut-wrenching surrealness of their daily existence.

It is evident from the get-go that Chris felt their value system was twisted; so, he hankered to wash his hands of it.

Understandably, he made a quick exit one day in search of the answers, to the puzzlement of his parents.

After an unexpected flash-flood shakes him up a little in the desert - he abandons his beat up car, burns his money - and strikes out into the wilderness.

He seeks a life without the ties that bind.

During a brief stint of hitch-hiking, the young adventurer encounters a handful of intriguing characters.

For example, on one comical occasion, he stumbles on a commune for hippies as he is humbly encamped next to a nudist-colony in the wilderness while working at a local grainery.

After making a pact to realize his dream of habitating in the wilds of Alaska, McCandless hastens to line up a job or two to earn some money, so that he can embark on his plans without delay.

Eventually, he takes his first unsteady steps into the great white North, then promptly sets up a respite in an abandoned bus near a lush riverbank.

Within a few short eventful weeks, it appears McCandless will grasp the golden ring he's been achingly grasping for.

For example, he sups on his own wild-life catch daily, ever-mindful of the delicate balance of nature and the need for harmony.

But - due to a lack of experience, stupidity, or an unfortunate miscalculation - our conquering hero gets trapped in the wilderness without warning.

Without ready food on hand, McCandless (this is a true story) tries to find sustenance in nature; however, after mistakenly gobbling down a handful of poisonous berries, his sad demise unfolds miserably before us.

There is nothing earth-shattering or innovative about this tale.

In fact, thousands of teens - boys and girls alike - slip away quietly (or run) from unhappy homes every year in America with the insatiable desire to find a better life, some answers about the meaning of it, or quite simply to get their bearings in the great scheme of things.

Emile Hirsch turns in a stunning winning performance for the full-length of this overly-long - at times - draggy film.

Yes, the up-and-coming actor manages to sustain our interest and hold his own, much to his credit.

The breathtaking cinematography and raw footage of the wild is worth the price of admission alone.

But some of the material is well-travelled, cliche - and frankly - dated.

Since Penn struggled for ten years to secure the rights to the story, it's easy to fathom why the tale fails to resonate profoundly; indeed, had it been produced a decade or so ago the impact would have been more resounding.

Penn's attempts at gimmicks and storytelling tools - with the specific aim of Hollywood-izing the film - are misguided, too; ultimately, the awkward efforts take away from the natural sweetness and simple truths that lie at the tender heart of it.

However - "In the Wild" - is enjoyable family entertainment; albeit, nothing particularly outstanding.

Some would label it middle-of-the-road - a popcorn film - at best.
