Vice President Joe Biden...to snooze in Las Vegas! Paris Hotel hosts Teamster Union's Convention!

Though the White House has been a little vague about the specific details of the Vice President's stop-over in Las Vegas it's official.

President Obama's political sidekick is slated to deliver a speech on Friday July 1st at the Teamster Union's 28th International Convention at the Paris Hotel in the exotic desert oasis.

Unless the VP dozes off, the much-anticipated appearance is expected to go off without a hitch at approximately 11:15 a.m. at the convention center inside the trendy Hotel premises.

Do you suppose Mr. Biden will dare broach iffy issues such as the escalating deficit or illegal workers (and a backdoor Amnesty plan) if quizzed by the aggressive media?

Sarah Palin...image on Internet controlled by invisible hand?

If you're like me, you probably do a search on one of the political candidates now and then - and conduct a quick peruse of "images" - to determine how each is being perceived, represented - and quite frankly - being made fun of in the public arena.

For weeks now, I have noticed somethin' mighty curious!

Although there are scads of doctored stills - and cartoons - taking cracks at John McCain, Joe Biden, and Barack Obama - there are a precious few to take a gander at of Sarah Palin.

In view of all the negative press she's been garnering - regarding ethics lapses, deceitfully billing the state for family expenses, and so forth and so on - I find this highly suspicious.

Is someone monitoring the Internet and surreptitiously "pulling" any image of Palin in the blogosphere that negatively reflects on the Vice Presidential candidate?

If you're going to offer up an argument like - well, she's a woman - sorry!

That one won't hold water.

When Hillary was in the running - there were oodles of unflattering, rude, and insulting images of her all over the Internet - which no one had qualms about chortling over.

Does anyone on the world-wide-web have that kind of power?

Scary thought!

Joe Biden...take my wife, please!

Try a plug...

The Internet was all a-twitter overnight in response to an off-kilter remark Vice President hopeful Joe Biden uttered up at his "coming out" party yesterday afternoon at a rally with Barack Obama.

When he introduced his wife Jill - for instance - he joked that his better half had a doctorate which was a "problem".

Not for her, obviously!

I expect that when the two are head-to-head in an intellectual discussion - which she is winning due to her savvy maneuvers and overall smarts - Biden is probably inclined to give a nod to Roger Dangerfield and the comedian's oft-repeated phrase,

"Take my wife, please!"

While a handful of political analysts poohed poohed Biden's attempt at levity in respect to the issue of her brainier accomplishments, one pundit noted that it was "A-OK" for the candidate to gush about her looks.

While not all may have agreed with Biden's assessment - it is a known fact - that perceptions of reality are often colored by the eyes of love.

Especially, when it comes to spouses.

But, getting back to the comment about his wife's grey matter.

That sort of repartee is alright in the parlour room or around a card table with old friends.

But on the world podium, the "put down" was in poor taste.

Notwithstanding, it's a dangerous minefield to traverse over, even with the best of intentions.

A word of advice, Joe.

There are some blood-thirsty folks across the country ready to go for the jugular.

So, think before you speak.

Theophrastus once said,

"An orator without judgment is a horse without a bridle"

Nuff said!

With Biden, there will be a lot of finger pointing...

Barack Obama...Joe Biden. Salt & Pepper team to appear at rally!

Did you want honey on those grits?

The dailies are now on the uptake and reporting that Joe Biden has been selected as the Vice Presidential hopeful for the Democrats in the upcoming fall election.

In my own post last night, I gave my own nod of approval.

Excellent choice, considering the meager offerings, eh?

Voters can catch the "Salt & Pepper" team in action later today when the dynamic duo make a first-time appearance together at an upbeat rally in Springfield (Illinois) at the Old State Capitol.

Shortly after the formalities, it is expected the top dems will make a handful of strident appearances in key states, before the running mates descend on the Democratic throngs in Denver on Wednesday.

Pundits will be watching to see how the two personalities gel.

I anticipate that at some point on the campaign trail - as each candidate has splintered off to glad-hand prior to the big day - a few delightfully entertaining - "Good Cop" "Bad Cop" - scenarios may go down.

Can't be avoided, given the character traits of each hopeful.

In fact, as Americans head into the final stretch of the presidential elections, I predict that the landscape will get downright intriguing.

May you live in interesting times, Barack!
