Prince William & Kate Middleton...Hooray for Hollywood! David & Victoria Beckham play hosts!

With a lot of fanfare - and fresh off a well-received tour in Canada - the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are slated to touch down in the Golden State at the end of the week.

The Royal handlers have fessed up that the handsome couple are expected to hunker down at the ultra-chic Beverly Hills Hotel (known to locals as the "Pink Palace") on Sunset Boulevard.

Will the lovebirds select a secluded cottage to feather their nest for the three-day jaunt or spring for a sumptuous suite with a spectacular view of the picturesque upscale climbs of 90210 (and Bel Air beyond in the distance)?

One legendary film director - an eccentric multi-millionaire by the name of Howard Hughes - once kicked off his expensive loafers there and summarily proceeded to order up juicy hamburgers at whim 'til the cows (usually of the pretty starlet variety) came home!

Old violet eyes - Elizabeth Taylor - played with imaginary friends on the prestigious grounds in her youth while her father flogged paintings in the respected gallery he operated on the first floor.

Fans of pop star George Michael - of "Wham" fame - also got busted across the street in the mens bathroom at the well-manicured neighborhood park during an undercover sting.

The delicous scandal shocked the world at the height of his flourishing musical career.

The Polo Lounge is still a popular watering hole for Tinseltown's power-players out to land fame and fortune in the fickle realm of filmdom.

The inside scoop?

David and Victoria Beckham - long-time friends of the well-liked Royals - are expected to trot 'em 'round town to the delight of the chic elite anxious to curry favor with the future King of England!

In recent days, it has been widely reported that Kate Middleton tossed together the fabulous outfits she wowed fans with in Canada - and hence - it was speculated that she can manage on her own when it comes to fashion sensibilties (thank you very much!).

No matter.

Fashionistas - and Royal Watchers, too - are predicting that Victoria may subtly offer up a style tip or two (maybe even gift the pretty newlywed with a designer frock?).

Meanwhile, Polo enthusiasts are excited about attending a match in Santa Monica in which the Prince will participate.

Lovely Kate has been bestowed with the honor of presenting the trophy to the winners.

A highlight of the tour unfolds when Wills & Kate trek off to one of the major film production studios to mix-and-mingle with a posse of celebrated Hollywood creative types.

When John Travolta was asked if he would jump at the chance to stage a publicity still - like the one he was featured in for posterity's sake with Lady Diana years ago - he nodded in the affirmative.

But, is the Duchess a fan of the Saturday Night Fever star?

George Michael...hot single! Download free! Royal's Charitable Gift Fund!

When George Michael isn't stalled at traffic stops stooped over the wheel in a drug stupor, he's usually drumming up tunes in the recording studio for die-hard fans chomping-at-the-bit for whatever scrap of song he's inclined to toss their way.

Tonight, the sexy bad boy of Pop unveiled his latest musical musings, which will benefit a Charitable Gift Fund set up by Prince William - and his blushing bride-to-be - Kate Middleton.
George has invited music-lovers to download the just-released single, with a low-key plea that guests who snap up the generous offer, donate to the Royal couple's humanitarian fund-raising project.

Donation information

http://www.royalweddingcharityfund.org/

The Charitable Gift Fund has been set up to support five causes that are dear to the hearts of the winsome twosome about to trot to the altar at the end of the month amidst a swirl of media frenzy and a throng of well-wishers expected to pack the bustling streets of downtown London two-or-three-feet deep.

"I'm incredibly happy for William, incredibly happy for his partner, and I'm absolutely sure that Diana would have loved the whole thing. I really hope she would have loved this track," Michael gushed.

In contrast to the tired remake Elton John offered up at Lady Diana's funeral (the Pop Star raised eyebrows when he dedicated a flat rendition of a song he originally wrote for Marilyn Monroe) Michael has offered up a heartfelt soulful ballad in the romantic vein that touches.

On the Piers Morgan talk show tonight, George Michael appeared to be relaxed and at ease, and downright comfortable in his skin.

I laughed when I spied the horn-rimmed glasses on the end of his pretty snoz, though.

I wear a pair of specs that are similarly-styled.

But, when I am out at a cafe - or strolling down the street and catch sight of potential date heading in my direction - I quickly slip off the old-fashioned eyewear.

Vanity!

If the lyrics ring true, just maybe, George has stumbled on true love for once in his long-suffering troubled life, eh?

George Michael...divulges info on Men's room bust! Was going to be outed!

Rough Trade?

George Michael was remarkably candid the other evening about his bust for exposing himself in a Men's toilet in Beverly Hills.

"Didn't you have a nice beach house or something where you could take the dudes," one cynical News Reporter snidely quizzed in an interview with the former front man for WHAM!

Some studs are just into raunchy outdoors sex, I guess!

Michael confided that for a while during the stint with the band - before he sauntered out solo - he was hip to the fact from rumors circulating in media circles that he was going to be outed eventually (at a time when forcing gay celebrities out-of-the-closet was more rare than the norm).

In the cable broadcast - an exclusive on "Scandals" of the Stars - the ever--popular crooner noted that getting caught with his di** "hanging out" was probably the best thing that could have happened in the final analysis.

Although, Mr. Michael is a well-adjusted "out" gay man today, the talented musician appears to have a monkey on-his-back for some unknown reason to the press and his fans.

I mean, what's with all those car crashes in the middle of the night, eh?

Uh-huh!

Michael is way ahead of Charlie Sheen in that regard, alright!

Fountain Urinal...bizzare "head" features plumbing not so basic at Nevada border!

Lip Service!

Nature was calling

Uh-huh.

I needed to take a whiz.

I roared into a Shell station and dashed into the men's room to seek relief.

Suddenly, I was confronted with a “head” the likes of which I’ve never encountered in my decades-long life.

Before me stood the oddest toilet fixture with a plaque on is face which read:

The Fountain Urinal

In some respects, it was not unlike a stone fireplace in a country home.

Framing the top and sides of a wide “mouth” (about 5 feet wide and 6 feet high) rustic stones adorned the face.

And - at the bottom lip (?) - the urinal was edged in fancy brickwork in a decorative old-western-style.

The age-old tradition of the man-of-the-house taking a healthy crap on the “throne” in the privacy of his Castle had nothing on this baby.

There sure was a lot of p**ing room for those who with lousy aim and a tendency to slop over onto the rim of a normal toilet seat.

Just betcha kids have a field day in this “John“.

The mischievous ones probably engage in peeing contests, to see who can send their golden yellow streams the farthest (and widest), when their parents are looking the other way.

Who knows!

Needless to say - the "Fountain Urinal" - gets a highly-coveted  Golden Urinal Award for a myriad of obvious novel reasons!

George Michael...Roxanne DVD sensual! Fans can win artwork!

Tonight, I stumbled across the George Michael DVD featuring the ballad "Roxanne".

The ambitious release is titled:

George's Live in London DVD

A very sensual visual piece of work!

Some of the images verge on being vacuous, though; after all, a thin line has been drawn on the nature of Michael's tightrope performance.

Personally, I'd prefer a catchier upbeat tune, but maybe that's coming down the pike.

By the way, at the Official George Michael web site, handlers are offering up lots of goodies over the holiday season.

Fans have the opportunity to win signed artwork from Michael's hit the 'December Song'.

The music video site, MUZU.TV, has teamed up with George Michael to offer Michael-lovers the chance to win a unique piece of signed artwork from the - I Dreamed Of Christmas - video!

Enter the competition on the George Michael music video channel!

MUZU.TV.

Also, fans are invited to download 'December Song' and other new tracks!

George's new classic - I Dreamed Of Christmas - may be downloaded  @ the  iTunes Store, for instance.

Two select special digital packs are available!

CineVegas Film Festival...George Michael in Concert! Busted in Vegas, not!

As you head in from the desert, the picturesque rugged mountains that rim the valley fall out of view, and ahead the city of Las Vegas sits like a sparkling gem in the dazzling mid-day sun.

On the strip there is a buzz in the air.

Tourists gobble up the eye-candy as they snap photos furiously - all-the-while - caught up in a sort-of feeding frenzy.

Quaint gondolas glide by in front of the Venetian and a stunning water display delights in front of the Bellagio.

As snatches of French, German & Chinese fall on the ears, it's evident glitzy "Sin City" is a captivating concept to cultures around the globe.

Although I am in town to catch the CineVegas Film Festival - which has a satellite base at the Palms Casino - I'm inclined to go with the flo and explore the Boulevard and mix in with the crowd.

At MGM, I catch the tail end of the Lion Show.

In their confined habitat on the main floor of the Casino, the cubs act like playful puppies with their trainer. But when the mic picks up their mighty roar from within the walled enclosure, it is obvious why they are the King of the Jungle.

At MGM, gyrating images of George Michael flash on wide screens throughout the establishment exalting his concert slated for June 21st.

Expect a sell-out, thanks to old wham, fans

At Caesars Palace, the Big 3 - Sir Elton (John), Cher (Legendary), and Bette (Bugle girl) - were being promoted in anticipation of their grand entrances into the spotlight in coming weeks.

After the curtains fall on each - I wonder, will the pop icons sneak into one another's suites in their nighties and snack on delectable goodies - as they reminisce about the old days 'til the crack of dawn?

For this time of year, the sun was intense, and sent the mercury soaring to 107 most days.

Adidas and a handful of other smart shopkeepers installed "misters" outside on the street - so their customers could slip out of the intense rays of the big burn and breath a sight of relief - if only for a second or two.

Surprisingly, I chose to window-shop a bit among the throngs that were gathering by the minute in the exotic desert oasis.

I passed on a T-shirt that said:

"Property of Las Vegas County Jail".

After all, who wants to tempt fate?

Instead, I purchased one that showed off my torso, which brazenly shouted out on its face:

"Busted in Vegas".

A dollar sign etched on the front with a red circle and a slash running through it said it all.

Not!

I'm too practical when with money these days.

What little of it, I have, of course.

The humorous tank top elicited a number of smiles and chuckles throughout the day as I sauntered this way 'n that in the electric tourist mecca.

When I chatted up a handful of hotel employees, they were surprised to hear that the annual CineVegas Vegas Film Festival was opening later that day.

There's wasn't much in the way of local publicity advertising the event, I guess.

Many were clueless about the fact dozens of dazzling celebrities would be jetting in for the event.

Well - Anjelica Huston, James Caan, and Sam Rockwell - for starters; after all, they were attending a red-carpet premiere in honor of their acting chops.

Dennis Hopper - who became a sort-of goodwill Ambassador for the Festival - hosted a party at TAO on his birthday.

The trendy night spot was being promoted as a religious nightclub experience!

Actually, many of the Casinos were going for a younger market over the summer months.

MGM brazenly touts its club "Tabu" on the outside of the entertainment complex with sexually-implicit ads of a young stud offering up a cherry to a sexy lady-of-the-night in a reclining position.

A visually-appealing advert for the spa and pool played up the erotic image, too, with a sizzling publicity still of a lifeguard with perfect pecs and chiseled abs beckoning guests in.

Save my life any day, Bud!

On the evening I galloped into town, I got all gussied up and took in a red-carpet event for the premiere of - "The Rocker" - which kicked off the high-profile CineVegas Film Festival.

Last word from the organizers before I left Los Angeles was that "Get Smart" would be a sell out.

Wonder why?

But, the festival staff managed to squeeze me in, to my delight!

An eclectic mix of shorts films, documentaries, and locally produced features were being screened at the annual festival - in addition to - a handful of special celluloid boutique masterpieces.

I'll trot around the Vegas landscape until I'm ready to wilt away.

But, I'll be sure to sip a cocktail, play the slots, and loll by the pool at the Sahara for a few hours, if only to pep me up a bit before the round of party-hopping starts later this evening.

At a minimum, I should be able to not only rustle up a dollop of gossip, but kick up my heels a little, too.

Skoal!

George Michael...the Los Angeles tour! Wham! Bang! Thank you ma'am...

George Michael cruises the loo...

One morning a radio station was chatting with a call-in listener who lucked out and won tickets for a George Michael concert.

"How long have you been a fan?" the high-energy disc jockey asked with infectious enthusiasm.

"Oh, since George was whamming."

Ha! That conjured up curious images - and memories - as well.

Like, how about, "Wham Bam, thank you Ma'am?"

Yes, I know, that was a lyric from a David Bowie song.

I was referring to his private life, if you get the gist of my meaning!

I laughed to myself when I recalled the incident a few years ago when Mr. Michael (an oddity of terms, isn't it?) got caught with his - um - pants down in a men's rest room across the street from the prestigious Beverly Hills Hotel.

I thought it was admirable that George fessed up - quick as a wink - without any long drawn-out excuses.

But, with a top-notch lawyer he could have gotten off - so to speak - in my estimation.

Think about it.

Allegedly, he was standing at the urinal stroking his Johnson - no, not "Don Johnson" - his co**, peck** - whatever.

Without warning (gosh - the unexpected surprise could have sent him off half-co**ed - don't 'ya think?) an undercover agent apparently strolled in and spied the pop star in the act of - er - exposing himself in a crude intimate manner.

Or, however you want to posture it.

But, there weren't any other witnesses to shake a stick at.

Essentially, it was George Michael's word against that of the undercover dick (there's something erotic - yet foreboding-sounding - about that term, isn't there?) who proceeded to frisk him (betcha he was turned on by that) and haul his tight little a** to the slammer.

If you recall, straight off, George pleaded no contest.

Like the Michael Jackson scenario, was it possible that there was something so distinctive about his pen**, that he was sure the copper could identify it in open court, if necessary?

Is that why he begged off?

Personally, I figure that a high-powered attorney with some street smarts under his belt, could have put forth a compelling argument that George wasn't actually "playing" with his organ at all (yeah, all the innuendos are hilarious in this scenario) but - rather - shaking it a tad to cast off a few last dew drops of pi** from the end of it.

Ladies, it's a guy thing!

Ah, maybe that's it.

He didn't want to air his dirty underwear - um - laundry in public!

Remember what Oscar Wilde once said,

"Scandal is gossip made tedious by morality"
