Family Jewels...Gene Simmons & Shannon Tweed on the rocks?

"Family Jewels", the reality show, shifted gears last night - at which point - a flood of erratic emotions pulled the carpet out-from-under Rocker Gene Simmons.

Shocker!

After twenty-seven years of being lovey-dovey - and raising two darling kids - Shannon Tweed (a twitter pal) stormed out on her once-smug bed-mate with the crinkly "do".

"I'm going to a Hotel," Shannon managed to utter up, before she slipped out the door of the sumptuous mansion in a bit of a daze.

What triggered the split?

The groupies, according to Ms. Tweed, a former playboy model.

"He's obviously still trying to prove something. But, when will it end," she wondered to her sister, who took her in a scant few hours later when the startling news spread like wildfire in their circle of family and friends.

At one point, the pretty blond fessed up about her worst fears.

"I don't want to be replaced by a younger version of myself," she lamented.

Ouch!

Her children - and a sister - reacted angrily to the musician's selfish immature behavior by the way.

"Why don't you go to a Hotel," Tweed's sibling hissed at Simmons when she strode by him in the hall on her way to pack up a handful of Shannon's personal belongings.

"You suck right now," she angrily spouted off, almost as an afterthought, in he aftermath.

Cut to Gene Simmons down-in-the-dumps and face-to-face with his therapist solemnly discussing the sad unexpected turn-of-events.

"I hate losing control," he confided in the cool-headed blond guiding him through the emotional process.

"I guess because I am a big Rock Star - and rich - that I don't like to have to check in with anyone," he admitted at-long-last.

"Deep down, I know it is all nonsense."

The showdown with Shannon triggered deep-rooted fears and awful truths about himself.

Talk about a dark night of the soul!

"I need her," he finally acknowledged. But, it's difficult to admit."

His son, Nick, was also pissed with him for allowing the situation to escalate.

"You always called us up on things," he reminded Gene.

"Dad, if some guy hurt your mother, what should you do?"

"Confront the guy," Gene shot back.

"Something to think about," Nick mused, as he strode off to leave Simmons to mull over the dilemma.

In the end, Nick orchestrated an outing at a jazz bar, with the ultimate aim of hooking his parents up on the sly at the Nightclub.

What a manipulator, eh?

Once Gene caught sight of Shannon alone across the packed house, he sulked for a moment, then took charge of the situation.

The aging Lothario strode over to Shannon to make peace, you betcha!

In minutes, the lovebirds were hugging and making up?

Well, so Gene thought.

Until, the stilted couple returned to estate, where Shannon proceeded to trot upstairs.

"Where are you going," he quizzed.

"Upstairs to pack."

Without hesitation, Gene took her hand and pulled her into his loving arms.

"I built this home for you and the kids. You're going to stay here forever."

A bit cliche, I know.

And - most certainly - mushy!

The truth of the matter?

Most couples have to make a decision about the road they're going to travel - either with their chosen significant other - or alone in the alternative.

When the therapist asked Gene what he would do to get Shannon back, he replied in two words.

"Almost anything."

Almost?

Well, I guess their future as a couple hinges on that one word, eh?

Once Gene recognizes that refusing to give up his tom-catting (and groupies) may end his precious relationship, he'll have to decide which is more important.

Is it his freedom or a loving nurturing relationship?

If  I interpreted the signals right, at 61, Gene Simmons is about to finally grow up.

Otherwise, the over-the-hill rock star, may end up like Hugh Hefner.

Don't 'ya think?

Shannon Tweed...taxi quote of the day!

After nearly coming to blows with a stranger one day - while in hot pursuit of taxi-ride uptown in New York - voluptuous Shannon Tweed (former Playboy Model) - uttered up the quote of the day!

"In Calfornia - f you want a taxi - you call them up on the telephone and they arrive at your front door. In New York, you go into the street and have a fist fight over one!"

Amen!

Shannon Tweed...Gene Simmons content to live in sin? KISS tour explosive...

That Gene Simmons has quite an outspoken sense of humor!

In a recent interview - with long-time love Shannon Tweed by his side - the KISS front man laughed wickedly when a fan at home in the viewing audience pleaded with him to show his infamous tongue.

“I feel like a woman with big boobs,” he quipped.

“I would show it more often, but the floor is usually too dirty,” he mused.

As to the much-anticipated upcoming KISS tour?

“Oh, we have more pyrotechnics that a third world Nation.”

Politically incorrect?

Although Gene and Shannon have shared a bed (and home) for a handful of contented years, they haven’t bothered to traipse down the aisle, yet.

Perhaps the high-profile twosome enjoy living in sin?

When one fan asked if the key to a successful relationship in Hollywood hinged on not tying the knot, Shannon uttered up her own excuse which surprised viewers.

“He never asked me to marry him,” she stated point-blank.

With a tinge of sadness?

For the first time, Gene wasn't quick on the uptake.

A sore spot in their relationship?

Shannon Tweed...Autism Awareness Day!

I logged in to Twitter at the close of "Dancing with the Stars" last night when I spied a tweet that Shannon Tweed just posted (we follow each other) on the subject of Autism.

"Don't forget that April is Autism month."

Shannon also underscored that April 2nd (Friday) is World Autism Awareness Day.

The subject of Autism is close to Ms. Tweed's heart since one of her own children is autistic.

World Autism Awareness Day shines a bright light on autism as a growing global health crisis, according to the organizers.

WAAD activities help to increase and develop world knowledge of the autism epidemic and impart information regarding the importance of early diagnosis and early intervention.

Additionally, WAAD celebrates the unique talents and skills of persons with autism and is a day when individuals with autism are warmly welcomed and embraced in community events around the globe.

"By bringing together autism organizations all around the world, we will give a voice to the millions of individuals worldwide who are undiagnosed, misunderstood and looking for help" an official noted at the organization's web site.

Concerned inviduals are urged to join in the effort to inspire compassion inclusion and hope.

Twitter...Jimmy Fallon & guest chat about glitches! Celebrity identity theft...

Did you get that tweet, baby?

Last night, talk show host - Jimmy Fallon - and a guest were griping about glitches at Twitter which were a little unsettling.

What a relief to hear that I am not the only individual in the limelight who has encountered difficulties with respect to logging in, being recognized by the system, getting feedback from technical staff at Twitter, and so forth and so on.

Fallon's guest expressed frustration over the fact that if you're a celebrity - you can't just sign up and tweet up a storm - without getting a shake-down from Twitter staff first.

For instance, well-known actors have to go through a verification process.

Twitter will field various questions, and likewise - engage in a few histrionics to determine "you are who you say are" - for starters.

After all, what is to stop a wicked identity thief from suddenly jumping on the social hub, and misleading fellow tweet afficiandos into believing they are Johnny Depp, let's say.

There have to be some security measures in place, for sure.

A few  months ago, when I casually mentioned in the course of a conversation that Shannon Tweed was following me on Twitter, a friend quipped without hestitation.

"How do you know that it's really her?"

"Well," I fumbled for words, "It is."

I hestitated for a moment, then found myself snapping back to "he of little faith".

"Twitter wouldn't let that happen."

Would they?

In addition, Fallon and his guest, grumbled that even though they provided the right information in the "verification process", the problem was not resolved right away.

"My verification was denied," the actor snorted in disgust.

I feel their twitter pain!

One day, after I posted a tweet about a tribute to Johnny Cash on Facebook, I got locked out!

Every time I attempted to log in, a dialogue box popped up requesting that I try again.

After several failed log-in attempts, I finally tried the old twitter - "retrieve password" - function.

But, to no avail.

Each time I clicked on the link they provided in an e-mail - inputted a new secret password and attempted to log in - I was denied access.

At this juncture, I zipped off an e-mail to twitter and quizzed the technical staff.

"What gives?"

After about two days, the support team responded, and confirmed that somewhat was WRONG!

However, days passed, and no action was taken to alleviate the problem.

A follow-up e-mail failed to rustle up any response (or respect).
So, for about two weeks, I was unable to tweet!

Followers must have thought I dropped off the face of the earth or grown weary of twitter-ville!

Then, this past week, I thought I'd give the log-in the old college try!

Eureka, the magic twitter portal opened magically without explanation, and I was busy happily tweeting away once again!

Perplexing, eh?

Uh-huh!

Life is not always that tweet @ twitter.

Shannon Tweed tweets...Gene Simmons Family Jewels premieres June 7th!

A short while ago, Shannon noted in a tweet that Gene Simmons Family Jewels was picked up for a fifth season.

In-between tweets on house-shopping in Santa Barbara - and a confession now and then about a little pampering at chi chi day spas - there were occasional tidbits about shooting schedules as the popular show positioned itself to broadcast for the new season.

In an update yesterday, Shannon cheerfully announced that the premiere episode would be unveiled on June 7th on the A&E Channel (Sophie's Sweet Sixteen).

I cruised over to the A&E website and discovered that - prior to the big night - fans have the opportunity to toss their two cents worth in.

Yup, AETV.com is inviting viewers to vote on their favorite episode of Family Jewels.

Once the tally is complete, the top five episodes selected, will air on A&E on Sunday June 7th as a lead into the Season Four premiere of Gene Simmons Family Jewels.

The Fifteen "runner-up" episodes chosen will be streamed on AETV.com June 5 to June 7.

And, that's good news for die-hard fans, who will be treated to a full weekend of rip-roaring Gene Simmons Family Jewels entertainment.

Vote:

Shannon, thanks for that!

Shannon Tweed...tweets with me! Heh, don't tell Gene...

There's something about a woman with a cigar!

I was pleasantly surprised to receive an e-mail over the weekend informing me that statuesque beauty - Shannon Tweed - was now following me on Twitter!

A few weeks ago, our paths crossed at the Roosevelt Hotel, when Ms. Tweed & Gene Simmons appeared on the red carpet to show their support for a "Rally" to raise funds for the Los Angeles Children's Hospital.

In spite of the fact my new HD Video camera was fresh out-of-the-box that afternoon, and I was frantically trying to fathom how to operate the amazing gizmo, I managed to capture a handsome shot of the winsome twosome which I proudly posted on YouTube that night for the madding crowds to peruse.

By the way, eyes light up when I preview the clip for friends & acquaintances around town, so maybe I am on the right track creatively with my insightful "third" eye.

Of course, turn-about is fair play, so I cruised over to the Twitter home base of operations (and with the sweep of a deft finger) ceremoniously tapped Shannon's - um - "follow" button, too.

Now, I can keep track of Shannon's "tweets" without the need for a press release.

Thought I would get up to speed on the actresses' scuttlebutt, so I perused a couple of the latest updates.

I nearly fell out of my armchair when she noted in one post she'd just been in Las Vegas!

Golly, I just cruised back from "Sin" city bright and early yesterday morning.

Do you suppose we passed each other in traffic on Highway 15?

I was in a black SUV.

But, I expect that Ms. Tweed was in a sleek limousine.

A white one, just betcha!

I was really impressed when Gene's better-half casually mentioned she zipped in to say hi to "Hef" when she was in town.

I don't know many people - in fact, no one - on a first-name basis with the Playboy King!

However, I do have one small connection with the trail-blazing pioneer from yesteryear.

For example, I reported in a post a few months ago that one of the first modelling gigs I landed in Hollywood was through an agent at Playboy Models which was located on Sunset Boulevard in its early heyday.

Like me, it appears that Shannon is a bit of a "newbie" when it comes to tweeting.

In one update, she mused that she wasn't sure how to use the social tool effectively just yet, so she offered up the suggestion that followers could use the Twitter phenomenon to ask her questions about her life, career, what-have-you.

Great idea, for starters!

And, her reflection on the matter, triggered some thoughts of my own on the issue.

Twitter may be a potential substitute for a sort-of social register - or introduction service - for instance.

If you recall, years ago, folks - upper crust ones in particular - thought it very low class to chat a stranger up in an elevator, on a busy city street, or without a formal introduction by way of a trusted confidante, family member, or social contact.

In the wild & woolly world of today, it makes sense therefore to sign up with a social hub like Twitter, then casually "follow" an individual at a safe distance without any obligation until such time as there has been an opportunity to establish a sense of who the person is, determine what their hopes and dreams are in life - and ultimately - fathom if there is a place for that individual in the social, political and/or spiritual circles they travel in.

In the event the experiment doesn't pan out, well, no foul - eh?

Looking forward to more "tweets" Shannon; after all, they've been a joy thus far!

And, at least we have Vegas, right?

Laughter heals!

Children's Hospital is a leading International pediatrics children’s hospital that cures children and adolescents and helps their families navigate the dizzying medical health care system by providing a comprehensive understanding of childhood cancer and other blood disorders as well as effective methods for their treatment.

"I could tell you numerous statistics on the ever-growing number of young children getting this horrible disease but it means nothing. You, need to go to Children’s Hospital, look in their eyes and see the hope that they have when they look into ours."

Ms. DeRosa's navigator will be David Albert Pierce of the Pierce Law Group.

"The Qualifiers" Celebrity Draft Party May 1st (2009).

The track will be fuelled by an extraordinary schedule of pit stops at a handful of the most exclusive venues throughout the City of Los Angeles.

Once the flag goes down, rally drivers and their celebrity navigators will embark on a joy-ride of a lifetime, as they jaunt from one clue to the next or are required to perform a special task.

So, at each pit stop, the driver and celebrity will have to work together.

In one hilarious scenario, the race enthusiasts will have to warble with Smokey Robinson.

"The fact that nobody really knows what they’re doing (ahead of time) creates a lot of anticipation and electricity throughout the event," an official of the fundraiser chuckled.

"Fun and information is the call of the day", another fund-raiser quipped.

I guess thinking fast will get you across the finish line, eh?
