X Factor...sleazy Christina Aguilera tease causes uproar in England! Simon says...

Hell hath no fury like a prudish English bloke scorned!

Just ask the tattlers at the fleet street tabloids across the big pond.

Ofcom, the British watchdog that regulates the airwaves in normally-jolly old England, has announced that they will conduct an investigation stemming from a raucous incident which scandalized Brits in recent days on snooty Simon Cowell's popular telly entertainment Show (X-Factor).

And - you thought that Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake - boobed the light-fantastic a moon or two ago - eh?

Ha!

According to sources, Christina Aguilera is in the hot seat for stripping down to sexy sweet-nothings impromptu - in front of approximately 14 million viewers.

To some - a heart-pumping-performance of two tunes from the soundtrack of her new flick (meant to evoke the raunchy appeal of pole dancing while boosting potential Burlesque ticket sales) - was "too orgasmic" for the dinner hour between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. in the evening.

In fact, a daily rag published out of London, labelled the daring show-stoppers featuring Aguilera (and Rihanna) an outright "storm of sleaze".

In fact, one journalist lamented:
"The message it sends out to a young and impressionable audience is so debasing and depressing."

Although a spokesperson for X-Factor swore up-and-down that the titillating gyrations were "appropriate" - a hail of angry tirades from viewers - tended to infer in the ugly mud-slinging aftermath it was simply not the case.

Ofcome was allegedly inundated with a flood of complaints - 2,750 - to be exact.

And, ITV - which aired the dirty laundry cum bill-of-fare - received 1500 protests criticizing the racy sexually implicit rant.

At this juncture, the meaning of "X" in the show's title, must be painfully obvious by now.

Simon should re-title the hit - "The Bump 'N Grind Effect" - eh?

Paula Abdul...the X-Factor! Turns down 1 cool million...

How about a Latino Drag Show?

The scuttlebutt streaking like lightning around the newswires today is that Paula Abdul has dug in her heels and lamented pouty-lipped:

No way, Jose!

Abdul announced that she will not be showing up for judging duties on - So You Think You can Dance? - when the popular Fox entertainment show strikes up the band next season (in spite of a carrot or two dangled up front from Fox Execs strings-free).

Fox has allegedly offered Paula a cool million in cash to have first dibs on her boob tube persona to stave off the alleged (?) competition waiting in the wings (but even that tempting offer has been turned down by the dizzy hostess with the mostest with nary a fleeting doubter).

Insiders whisper that Paula has her keen eye on teaming up with Simon Cowell when he revs up with his spanking new show X-Factor at Fox next year.

Something tells me, though, that Paula does not have enough "X" quotient to factor in!

Brand X and Verizon Wireless...present Movies @ Santa Monica Pier!

Bueller screens on October 2nd at pier!

For the past couple of weeks, Brand X and Verizon Wireless have been sponsoring a delightful event on the pier in Santa Monica (CA).

Unfortunately, like all good things in life, the series is about to draw to a close!

In the event a night outdoors (with a mate, family member, or close friend)  is up your entertainment alley, then take a jaunt down to Santa Monica Beach and catch a documentary - FUEL - which won the best audience award at Sundance Film Festival this past year.

Some critics hailed the insightful thought-provoking film as:

"The most hopeful movie of the year"

If docs are not your style - and remind you of education industrials you were once forced to take a gander at in the sweaty old gym in high school - I guarantee that next week's offering will screen to a packed house!

Ferris Beuller's Day off - directed by John Hughes (who recently passed to spirit) - is a hilarious comedy which stars a mischievous young Matthew Broderick, a candy-apple red Ferrari, and - the ultimate old fart of a school principal - sure to burn in hell.

Free popcorn and bottled water will be handed out to guests who drop by the Verizon tent.

Well, there has to be a promo in there somewhere, eh?

Enjoy!

GATES OPEN @ 7 P.M.
MOVIES START AT DUSK
CHAIRS BLANKETS AND KIDS WELCOME
NO ALCOHOL

FUEL screens on September 25th!
