Lindsay Lohan...@ Millions of Milkshakes! Paparazzi frenzy means $$$...

When Lindsay Lohan strode into "Millions of Milkshakes" (the local Celebrity hang-out) in WeHo the other evening - paparazzi, as usual - were in hot pursuit.

A media frenzy errupted in gay gulch @ Santa Monica & San Vicente as celebrity stalkers jockeyed for position.

One naive young dude shook his head, later.

"I don't get it, Crazy. Why do they stand outside the window taking her picture?"

I laughed.

Obviously, the kid was not in the topsy-turvy business.

I noted that Lindsay was the center of a media storm - right now - partly because of her unexpected witching-hour antics.

"She just got canned from a movie project. Is apparently in debt. And, some say, on the edge of a mental and emotional breakdown."

Also, because of Linday's tendency to fall down and go boom, the paparazzi wants to be there to catch it on film and reap the rewards.

"Huh," he stuttered.

"Well, recently she fell into a cactus bush. The photographer who caught that quirky moment on camera  probably nabbed some big bucks for the shot if it was the best "capture" any of the paparazzi submitted to the news agencies," I added.

"They're probably hoping she'll trip and spill a goey celebrity milkshake all over her cocktail dress."

"Oh," he chuckled.

"Or," I mused, "Spill one on her to get the shot."

Then, was it my imagination, or did it appear that a light bulb went off inside the dude's calculating little brain?

Uh-huh, just betcha, he's going to dash out and buy a camera.

Next week, I expect I'll spy him shoving his way into the pack of wolves for a lion's share of the profits.

Millions of Milkshakes has become quite the hot spot, in WeHo, anyway.

Inside, the atmosphere is quite upbeat and visually stimulating.

Throughout the day, clips of celebrities concocting their own shakes on the premises, are featured on  wide screens dotted about the ice-cream outlet.

There is even a Celebrity GPS tracker to follow the where-abouts of  high-profile stars!

Of course, die-hard fans can also plunk down a few hard-earned bucks, to sip on one of their favorite milkshakes, too.

See 'ya there!

Pssst!

Pam Anderson can oft be spotted at Millions of Shakes on Santa Monica.
Her vegan Milkshake is on tap, so give it a whirl!

Dancing with the Stars...Pam Anderson wows! Kate Gosselin raises stink...

As "Dancing with the Stars" burst on the screen for its second week into the new season, the emphasis appeared to be on glamour, fast fancy footwork, and a mad dash for the brass ring as contestants worked up a sweat in rehearsal and sought to showcase their talent on the big night with dazzling finesse.

Mad, was the key word, alright.

In fact, tensions ran so high on occasion that one judge quipped:

"Show up. Step up. And, shut up."

Kate Gosselin - the money-grubbing reality-show star (?) - stirred up controversy when a temper tantrum trigged her instructor to yell at her - I quit - just before storming off in a huff.

There were quite a few hits, amidst the misses (and bad manners), though.

Along the way, entertaining quips from the judges, kept the audience in side-splitting laughter.

For instance, when Pamela Anderson wafted onto the stage the spitting image of screen icon - Marilyn Monroe - one judge chortled that he just spied a limo packed with Kennedys careen up to the curb outside.

The impromptu spats - which underscored that a couple of  the dancers (male & female) were testy prima donnas - kept audiences on the edge-of-their seats shaking their heads in disgust (but begging for more juicy moments of classless low-brow entertainment).

For example, in one frustrating moment Kate Gosselin confronted her partner - pro dancer Tony Dovolani - because she couldn't cut (or keep up with) the fast pace.

In a shame-faced bid for sympathy, Gosselin played the damsel in distress.

"He feels like I undermined him as a teacher and I didn't. I'm not qualified to teach, but I am qualified to know how it is that I want something to be shown to me," Kate said to camera.

"Like, I just want to learn, like show me, so I can get it."

A handful in the audience were inclined to cluck.

Meanwhile, Tony was under the impression Kate was criticizing his instruction.

"I am a successful dance instructor. No one has ever treated me like this," he wined as he slunk off with his tail between his legs.

Eventually, the dismal twosome patched up their differences and moved on.

Whew!

Pamela Anderson added a lot of sizzle to the show last night when she went old Hollywood.

When she floated across the stage as Marilyn Monroe - in a sparkly body-fitting gown, white gloves, and short-cropped fifties-style "do" - the rapt audience was knocked out (as were the judges) by a performance that was sensual, precise, and classy.

One judge felt she needed to stand taller, find her center, and - uh-huh - refrain from the tendency to lead with her boobs.

Those judges say the darndest things, don't they?

Later on a talk show around the midnight hour, host Tom Bergeron joked:

"Pam excited me tonight. Then, she danced."

Her partner was dashing in a morning coat with tails, elegant cravat, tasteful pocket puff, and stylish shoes to match.

The performance rustled up a standing ovation for the beaming dancers!

There were precarious moments, though.

In a rehearsal, Pam fell back (with partner in tow) into a mirrored wall and went boom.

"I already said, there's no way I'm going down in a fox trot," she laughed as she struggled to regain her balance (and composure).

The former V.I.P star was praised for "getting into the moment" - and likewise - channeling Marilyn Monroe so expertly.

"I'm happy do something so much fun at this point in career," she chirped to one of the hosts as she waited for the scores to ripple off the cue cards.

"It had an elegance about it... a cheeky charm," Len gushed.

"It was a well executed delicious tribute to the original blonde bombshell, Marilyn Monroe," Bruno enthused.
Meanwhile, bad girl - Shannon Doherty - expressed quite a bit of frustration during rehearsal with her patient partner who was sensitive to her needs, fortunately.

Doherty expressed doubts about being able to remember the complicated routine.

"There is so much to learn."

Her instructor was steadfast in pushing her to the limits.

Although  TV's popular soap girl appeared a bit dumpy in the rehearsal hall (pleasingly plump?) the still-sexy brunette cleaned up good later.

In fact, the winsome twosome were dazzling in their glittery black & white outfits ( hers sparked up with  eye-catching heels and his with a stand-out string tie).

Their high-spirited number, though electric, was a bit flawed.

Len Goodman thought the performance was fast, fun, and energetic.

"A mean jive that engaged the audience," he raved.

"You need more control with the feet, though, Shannon," he added as an afterthought.

Trusting her partner - Mark - paid off well.

Evan (Gold Medalist)) was smartly turned out in tight jeans and vinyl leather jacket teamed with pink socks and ubiquitous sneakers.

"Suprise moves and interesting steps," applauded Len, who was prone to criticize Evan's legs on the grounds that they "went everywhere" in his estimation.

"The connection with the audience and your partner was there."

"Like greased lightning tonight, spot on. Don't go wobbly now."

Niecy added a dollop of humor - and a flourish of color - to the show.

The hefty likeable dancer wore a large flower in her hair to add a touch of romance to the sparkly outfit that accented her generous fleshy curves.

The effervescent gal expressed concerns that there were communication problems with her partner, who was describing the moves in such way, that they  diffficult to fathom (in her opinion).

When Louie mentioned he was reaching for a performance that was smooth as butter, she lit up, though.

"Now you're speaking my language. Cause I love food!"

In spite of her loud big demeanour, Judges hailed her fox trot as effortness.

Graceful?

Who would of thunk it?

I didn't warm up to her gown - a nightmare in pink - somewhat reminiscent of a Supremes cast off.

A judge compared it to a frothy pink milkshake (mistake?).

There were a couple of glaring incidents when flowing gowns triggered potential disasters on stage.

For example, fabric often swept up between the legs of  male partners, without warning.

Whoa nellie!

Because Niecy was such a big Mamma, I speculated earlier on there would not be any lifts in her dance future, though.

My prediction was right on the money as  both bods continued to hug the stage floor throughout the routine.

Two other dancers who fought openly - Jake & Chelsie - caused me to wonder to myself.

Are they in love, but don't know it yet?

He retorted at one point that he felt silly about the routine.

"I react like a porcupine. It's my defense mechanism," he apologized later with an obvious stick still up his pretty little butt.

Chelsie was adamant that she was not asking - but telling him in no uncertain terms - that there were hitches that still needed to be worked out.

When he lamented he couldn't get into a specific position - she remarked off-handed almost under her breath -  that he was bull-legged.

Ouch.

He wouldn't cave in, though.

"I tend to take up the challenge, tackle, then try to  nail it," he noted earnestly to the camera.

A studlly macho guy rife with attitude.

I like!

Jake cut a fine swath on the dance floor, too, decked out in black boots, white socks (or was he wearing spats?), dress slacks, and stylish checked jacket.

At one point, when he unexpected offered up three deep  thrusts from the groin area, it became obvious he was definitely stripper material.

Her black cocktail with torquoise fringe flattered her figure.

Judges noted they were a joy to watch, although Jake needed to be lighter on his feet.

"You have to trust your partner," one judge stressed amid nods from others on panel.

Chelsie described her realtionshilp with Jake to that of  "brother & sister".

Was it my imagination, or did that assessment of their relationship upset him?

BUZZ Aldrin continued on valiantly.

One judge thought the former astronaut was dancing with trepidation.

"You look like you're afraid to step on her toes."

In spite of comments like - tender, charming, tugs at heartstrings - scores were quite low.

I expect the moon-walker will not be tripping-the-light fantastic much longer on Dancing with Stars.

One cutting criticism?

"On the moon, you go this way 'n that to avoid craters. Here, it may be a good idea to go in a straight line on occasion," Len sniped.

Pussy Cat doll Nicole-  and partner Derek - were enthusiastic and full of energy.

Instead of a 50's classic tune they were pining for, the Judges nudged music for a contemporary song under their noses come rehearsal day.

Initially, both were annoyed with the turn of events, they didn't anticipate.

In spite of the disappointment, the attractive couple managed to choreograph an upbeat, fast-paced routine, loved by the normally-picky judges

One judge was totally wowed.

"You reinvented the jive!"

Maks and Erin bowled the judges over, too.

In rehearsal, Erin laughed about the fact she was such a Tom Boy - and lamented to anyone within earshot - that she  doubted her dance instructor would be able to draw the inner princess out.

"Maks works hard. He screams and drives me crazy."

The concentrated effort paid off.

Judges raved, after all, that she was a natural.

"Like a duck taking to water."

"Stunning", "lyrical", "flexible" were some of the superlatives used.

Sadly, Chad and Cherly were compared to a snow storm.

"You're glad when it's over," Len sniped heartlessly.

So were we!

Tonight, the first round of eliminations on ABC.

Dancing with the Stars...Pam Anderson sexually-charged! Kate Gossellin nervous as colt!

Hunk mugged for camera!

Light on feet though top-heavy!

A young male hunk mugged for the camera, a busty overweight trooper cried the blues when the verdict came down, and Buzz Aldrin - first man on the moon - danced his way to near oblivion.

Dancing with the Stars (Premier Event) roared into living-rooms around the Nation full of spunk and glitz mid-evening during the family hour tonight.

Sexpot Pamela Anderson - teetering on spiked heels - dazzled in a hot pink cocktail dress (with sensual lipstick to match) and wild mane of sexy hair that obviously turned on studs on-the-edge of their seats in the packed house.

One judge applauded Pam for being so "engaged" during her performance.

"Whew," a female jurist exclaimed, as she tossed her own head around once or twice in a sly effort to poke fun at the high-profile VIP TV star.

"That was hot," she gushed  as she fanned her pretty face to cool down a tad.

A lipstick lesbo on the Fox panel?

When it was announced that Pamela (who is the most downloaded blond bombshell on the Internet) signed on for the season - some speculated - that she was too (um) top heavy to trip-the-light fantastic.

"I don't have any rhythm. And, I am tone death," she giggled as millions of viewers gazed on from around the heartland.

With tongues hanging out no doubt!

Years ago I worked alongside Pamela on "Home Improvement" when she was the original tool-time girl before moving on.

Believe it or not, Ms. Anderson is quite shy off-camera.

An elderly gent, front center, lamented that the high-energy number was all sex!  sex!  sex!

Virile men below the footlights lapped it up, though, go figure!

Who was that old fart anyway?

Reality show personality - Kate Gossellin (!) - trotted on to the stage, too, to take her place in showbiz shame.

"But, Mommy, you can't dance," her daughter lamented when the TV appearance was announced on tabloid gossip shows.

Actually, Kate cleans up good!

The woman - with a knack for choosing the wrong man - was pretty, coiffed, and as a nervous as a colt first time out to pasture.

The critics were a bit unkind, but honest nonetheless.

"You weren't into it," one criticized.

"You need to relax," piped in another.

She'd appeared to be crestfallen.

The Cinderella fairy tale didn't pan out.

Get thee home by midnight, Kate, before your coach turns into a rotten pumpkin!

Edyta Sliwinska & soap hunk - Aiden Turner - did the Cha-Cha to an upbeat pop rock tune.

Unlike most buffed studs, the handsome serial actor didn't appear to do any stretching exerices to limber up beforehand, because - in the final analysis - his body movements were a bit forced and unnatural.

"No groin," complained the young male judge (obviously gay) in disgust.

A cha-cha without calculated crotch thrusts?  Unthinkable.

His partner sparked up their stage presence, by virtue of a chic racey slip-of-a-dress (studded with sequins and beads which caught the light this way 'n that) which didn't leave much to the imagination.

Aging gas bag, Buzz Aldrin, was a contestant also.

Buzz played the part to the hilt.

In the spirit of Latin Lovers, the American hero turned out in dark sparkly suit - teamed with a blood-red dress shirt - raring to take his partner for a spin (as his pretty blond wife cheered him on).

"Looks like you left the moon boots on," snickered a younger male judge who thought the performance wooden, and lacking in style and grace.

A tribute to Michael Jackson perhaps?

All the judges conceded that Buzz was a great American hero, but that aside, concluded his two-stepping failed miserably to lift off.

When the hammer came down on the astronaut, he held his head high & rolled with the punches.

"Was that a moonwalk," the pretty female panelist quizzed with a touch of incredulity in her voice.

Uh-huh.

The former astronaut was stiff, and robot-like, but what do you expect from a senior with eighty golden years under his belt?

I'm considerably younger, and already feeling a few creaks in the ankles, knees, and elbows!

Fortunately, I haven't suffered any loss of blood flow where it counts.

George Burns once said that you know you're getting old when you drop somenthing on the floor - and when you stoop over to pick it up - you check to see if there is anything else to pluck up while you're down there!

Two contestants - Evan Lysacek & gorgeous dancer Nicole Scherzwigger (Pussy Cat Dolls) - were well-received by two of the judges.

"You pulled that off with startling finesse," the astounded judge gushed.

It was a general consensus that the bar had been set.

"The performance was emotional, passionate, and touched the audience with its striking elements of light and shade."

It was a great routine out of the gate, lauded another.

'Til next week!

Pam Anderson...say what?

Oftentimes I arrive at the movie house early.

As I sit idly in my plush, comfy seat, I have the option to twiddle my thumbs or gobble up my treats before the main attraction fires up on the screen.

Now that many Theaters are offering up trivia games prior to the big show to wile the minutes away, personally, I am inclined to play along.

Usually, the brain-teasers are about current films; for example, what name actor, currently starring in a comedy, is married to Kirk Douglas' son?

Any takers?

Of course, the answer is...

Now managers are offering up famous quotes by actors on the wide screen; after all, aren't we all just waiting with bated breath to hear what our favorite star has to say about the state of the world?

I must have been in an off-the-wall mood last night at the Regency 'cause a number of the quotes hit my funny bone real hard in a nonsensical way...

For instance, Beyonce Knowles was quoted as having said,

"I make records like I speak."

Oh, so that's the problem!

Then there's the profound one by Carmen Electra,

"Life is not worth living unless there's a camera around."

Ah, another Kodak moment!

Some of the misconceptions may have arisen due to a lack of articulation by the artists.

For example, when Jared Leto contributed this gem - "I'm rarely proud of what I've done" - I surmise that what he meant to say was that he isn't too proud of his acting chops on screen.

Actually, Jared, your performance in "Requiem for a Dream " wasn't half bad.

Then, there's the comment by Amanda Peet:

"I think you have to fall in love a little with your co-star."

If you don't, will someone twist your arm?

The one by Lindsay Lohan caused the audience to roar:

"I am the hardest working person I know", she allegedly said straight-faced.

I wonder, was that a misquote? Did she actually say,

"I am the hardest two-fisted drinker I know"?

Some are downright silly.

There are the philosophical words of wisdom by Pam Anderson,

"A little pain is good for you."

Or the cerebral message from Natalie Portman:

"I'd rather be smart than a movie star".

It caused me to wonder, is it not possible to be both?

Will Ferrell noted that when people engage in inappropriate behaviour that he laughs.

How refreshing, most would turn up their nose in disgust.

From Jennifer Lopez, this little ditty:

"I need 8 hours of sleep or I go out of my mind".

Gosh, Ben could have told us that!

Finally, there's this from Sandra Bullock:

"Success comes in a prickly package".

In view of her favourable press to date - it causes me to ponder - who pricked her?

Undoubtedly, it's because of fluff like this, that celebrities are prone to be chaste when it comes to probing interviews.

It's bad enough to be misquoted, but worse yet to be caught in an outrageous moment of stupidity.

Remember: to err is human, to forgive Divine.

As Salvador Dali said:

"Have no fear of perfection- you'll never reach it."
