Anderson Cooper...Kim Kardashian's ass! Serious journalist? Or, slow news day!

Pint-sized News Anchor - Anderson Cooper - obviously takes pride in the fact that he is known as a - um - respected journalist to be taken seriously.

If that is the case, then why did he open a segment of his top-rated broadcast last night with a fluff piece on Kim Kardashian's "ass"?

Was it a slow news day or was Coop's "eye" on potential ratings?

Anderson Cooper...Broadway debut! Daniel Radcliffe takes bow in classic!

Studly Coop debuts on Broadway!

That Silver Fox - Anderson Cooper - is launching a stage-acting debut on Broadway in a revival of the classic Broadway hit:

"How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying"

Well, not exactly in the flesh.

Though, fans of the pint-size News Anchor, get all hot and bothered at the thought!

Mr. Cooper recorded the Book "Voice" for an advice-giving narrator (a character who is actually never seen on stage) which starts previews at the Big Apple's Al Hirschfield Theatre in the next few weeks.

Coop was quick to underscore that his "night job" on CNN keeps him out of the loop for the most part - when it comes to acting - that is (dudes at the gym may offer up a bone of contention on that issue and will tattle otherwise if the rumor-mills are true).

So, this nifty assignment dove-tailed nicely with his work load.

I expect - that a handful of fans (hot-to-trot) were disappointed when they caught sight of Cooper in an interview with Piers Morgan recently - though.

In that one-on-one sizzler (yawn!) the camera-man made the mistake of taking a two-shot from the side which ended up dwarfing Gloria Vanderbilt's son (yeah, he was born into big bucks) next to TV's new super-star interviewer of the month.

The musical stars another notable by the name of Daniel Radcliffe.

Uh-huh!

I expect that the Harry Potter star will sell out the box-office, eh?

More later!

Terrorist Babies...Anderson Cooper goes off deep-end! CNN credibility in dumper!

Silver fox brooding alot these days!

I shook my head in disblief when I caught the Anderson Cooper report on "terrorist babies" on CNN the other night..

Coop must be either desperate for controversial issues to chase down to keep the ratings revving up - or, just maybe - he's heading toward a melt down.

His tenacious full-frontal attack on the subject was baffling!

Frankly, the wild notion should have been "dropped" like a hot potato, because it can't help but taint the name and reputation of anyone who chooses to pursue the looney-tunes scenario that's been drummed by unknown individuals to add to the hysteria about illegal immigrants and their alleged intentions.

If 'ya missed the bizarre in-depth probe (!) by Anderson, here's what went down in a nutshell.

When it came to Cooper's attention that Texas State Rep. Debbie Riddle (R-Tomball) was alleging to all within earshot that there was a plot involving pregnant women to have their unborn children delivered in U.S. hospitals to lay the ground-work for future terrorist attacks - instead of letting common sense prevail - Cooper dove in full-throttle.

For example, when it was obvious early on that Debbie Riddle was not a credible witness, he should have moved on.

In the segment, Riddle was not only evasive in respect to many of her responses, but prone to hide behind so-called un-named former FBI contacts, in order to bolster her bizarre allegations when pushed against the wall by pit-bull reporter Anderson Cooper.

It should have been obvious to Coop that Riddle was full of sh**, too, when she withrew her cooperation on-camera on the grounds that she was not informed in preliminary preparations for the report that Anderson Cooper was going to "grill" her so vigorously on air (in spite of the "fact" her office was still in the process of investigating the details).

Hooey!

From my perch here, Riddle's conduct was pretty suspect.

Only a fool would have pursued the matter further, but Anderson Coooper chose to plow on, and just about went down with the ship in the process in my estimation.

Cooper, the whole idea of a woman having a child in a U.S. hospital - with the specific intent of spirting the young one to foreign soil to be raised as a terrorist (then, installed in a cell twenty years later to attack the Nation from inside) is patently ridiculous on its face.

In the final analysis, Anderson obviously needs therapy for shell shock, because he's totally lost it!

BP...shocking revelations about Oil Giants! Dead people offered advice!

The allegations were pretty startling to say the least!

Shortly after the President signed off on his hum-drum speech to his fellow Americans, news began breaking around the country that at least three of the major oil companies (BP included) relied on the same celebrated scientist for input on the Gulf  crisis.

There was one glaring problem, however.

The expert in the oil industry field died years ago!

But, that wasn't the only revelation that triggered a shockwave on news wires at dusk this evening.

Upon close scrutiny, investigators - hot on the oil spill scandal - spotted other telling irregularities in respect to researched materials (allegedly backed up by legitimate thorough studies by academics) that the industry brass relied on to monitor and maintain their facilities.

With the exception of a phrase or two altered here and there, the exalted reports were almost carbon copies of each other, informed sources revealed.

As tongues began to wag, inquisitive truth seekers reflected on the phenomenon - and likewise - offered up their thoughts on the bizarre coincidence.

"Perhaps one consulting firm was hired (and duly paid) to compile the manual book initially," one astute news hound speculated.

Down the road, when another industry giant sought reference material on the same subject, clearly an unscrupuolous (lazy) employee at the firm had enough larceny in them to just alter a few words in the original report with an eye on racking in a wad of cash for a similar version without much effort.

Who knows!

Just maybe, a clever devil "cut & paste" the material right off the Internet.

As one anchor pointed out, in the event management at either of the big three had ventured beyond the eye-catching cover page, they have have spied embarrassing errors just beyond the first page.

For example, in at least one chapter, the author's factual data is way off-base.

What a hoot!

As was the case with the controversial Immigration Reform Law in Arizona, I just betcha a fiver, that the President hasn't even cracked open the cover to that ambitious  historical tome.

Bet he's familiar with the criteria for submitting a candidate for a Nobel Peace Prize, though.

San Francisco...prying eyes! A get-a-way not that for blogger!

I didn't even have to rent a billboard!

With my heart set on a quiet get-a-way - I steered my SUV north on Hwy 101 - in the direction of the lofty climbs of the romantic city by the bay (San Francisco).

Unlike LA LA LAND - where a mushroom cloud of nasty smog hovers overhead daily - fresh prevailing winds off the ocean breeze in - and in the process - effect therapeutic healing properties.

Within hours, my sinuses dried up, and I was able to breathe contentedly once again!

In Frisco, getting around the picturesque downtown core is a snap, too.

On the first starry night in town - I parked the car, tossed the ignition keys on a dresser in my hotel suite, and proceeded to piece together an ambitious game-plan designed to track down the rich  historical remains of the unique city's golden past.

But, reality sunk in, when I ventured out for a steaming hot cup of Java & morning snack at the crack of dawn the following day.

Within minutes of biting into my scrumptous bagel slathered with high-protein gobs of peanut butter, I suddenly felt like that there were a thousand eyes on me!

As I turned and gazed up from my cozy perch at the side counter running the length of a sparkling-clean picture window that framed the bustling world floating by, I spied a handful of tourists, businessmen, and locals staring at me transfixed!

OMG!

Surprisingly, my mug appeared to be just as recognizable to strangers on the streets of San Francisco, as it is in my own neck-of-the-wood.

In fact, over the next few days, I was literally astounded by the reactions I encountered everywhere where I turned!

If I walked down a bustling street in the business district, for instance, passers-by zeroed in on me like flies on sh**.

Within seconds, they were nudging their pals in the ribs, or straining to alert their companions (with mouths awkwardly twisted half-closed in a surreptitious effort to conceal their whispers) that I was in their midst.

They reminded me of ventriloguists!

Some came to halt on the sidewalk, acted like they were checking their pocket for something, then proceeded to gaze after me as I headed down the street (as I pretended that I wasn't aware of the riot of emotions unfolding all around me).

In retail stores - faces froze, clerks chatted in hushed tones, and shoppers magically became glued to the polished parquette floors beneath their feet now burdensome dead-weights.

In clothing stores, stylists paid keen attention to the outfits on display that I scrutizined, and appeared to take mental notes.

In diners and variety stores, customers in line ahead of me, tended to step aside to allow me to go first.

Of course, I pooh-poohed the notion that I should get special treatment, and instructed those thoughtful few to "go ahead" as I ushered up a little bow of thanks (a gesture of respect Buddha-style).

On the one occasion that I drove to one location, I suddenly realized - too late - that I couldn't turn right on a red light on the downtown street.

To prevent myself from jutting out in front of traffic and pedestrians with the right-of-way, I put the gear in reverse, and backed up a few feet out of harm's way.

Wouldn't 'ya know it, passers-by spotted me in the driver's seat right away, and proceded to poke their friends and business associates as they gave me the old hairy eyeball.

I expect that in spite of the fact I have a perfect driving record (amazing considering how many years I have been behind the wheel of about eight different vehicles I have owned at one time or another) folks will be tittering (twittering, too) that I'm a dizzy driver.

Honest, I'm not.

But, don't worry, when the big bucks start rolling in, I'll hire a swanky limo to chauffeur me around!

Frankly, these days I am a bit overwhelmed by the instant fame, if you can call it that.

It's as if a major network has been broadcasting my photo over the airwaves - 24/7 - that's how recognizable I have become (the thought of which even stuns me).

If you want to become famous on sight, there are two ways to accomplish it.

Get on the nightly news or pen a high-profile controversial blog!

Why the nightly news?

Because I have experienced that phenomenon first hand.

Years ago, I was strolling down Santa Monica Boulevard, when I was witness to a drive-by shooting (a rare occurence in WeHo, believe me).

Shortly after the incident, I was chatting with a friend about what I witnessed, when a reporter from a local TV station approached me.

"You saw what happened?"

When I responded in the affirmative, he asked if I would agree to talk on camera about the incident.

"Sure, what the heck!"

Within minutes, the interview wrapped up, and I headed home to tuck in for the evening.

The next morning, when I pulled up to a pump at a gas station to fill up my tank, two Sheriff's driving by in a squad card gave me a thumbs up!

At first, I was startled by the gesture.

What the?

I looked over my shoulder to determine if they were waving to someone else behind me.

At this juncture, they laughed.

"We saw you on the news last night. Good job!"

Throughout the morning, everywhere I went, people would smile and blurt out:

"Heh, you're the guy from the news!"

Gosh, overnight, I had become a celebrity.

Why?

Because I was on the news, natch!

Apparently, CNN picked up the story, and it was being broadcast on the Network every thirty minutes or so throughout the evening.

Oy veh!

My current fame?

Well, it's decidedly more intense - so much so -  that I'm afraid to pick my nose in public or walk out the door unshaved or without running a brush through my curly locks first.

Ubiquitous dark glasses don't help.

I'm ready for my close-up, Mr. DeMille!

Anderson Cooper...Silver Fox to seek lair @ CBS! Rumors persist...

On the airwaves this morning, disc jockeys were chatting each other up over an alleged insider "tip" that Anderson Cooper - a mainstay over at CNN for a handful of years now - may fly the coop!

Was the initial invite for Anderson Cooper to contribute to 60 Minutes (the CBS flagship ratings-getter) a sly overture to pave the way for the "Silver Fox" to transition his way over to the competing network?

Some say, yes!

According to pulse-takers and media watchdogs, CBS News executives have their sights set on the handsome bachelor, who has an apparent festish for work-out gyms and wet spandex tightie-whities.

Post:  06/06/08

http://ijulian.blogspot.com/2008/06/anderson-cooperunderwear-fetish-gay.html

With a foot in the door now, it's just a matter of time before Anderson may choose to casually seque into a full-fledged role shaping the news format at CBS by way of an anchor post.

Some astute observers have noted over the past twenty-four hours that Katie Couric’s contract expires in a year or so - and that the time is ripe - to approach the rising media star stirring up ratings at CNN.

His high-profile coverage of the Haiti disaster hasn't been anything to sniff at, for starters.

Although a meeting allegedly took place months ago, some naysayers are pooh-poohing the notion that there is a behind-the-scenes play for Anderson to sign on the dotted line.

Some sources are boldly conjecturing that CBS Executives are pining for Mr. Cooper to replace Ms. Couric.

That sword works both ways for CBS.

Even if Cooper is not interested in jumping ship - any activity (surreptitious or otherwise) that hints negotiations are underway - may force Katie Couric's hand!

Meanwhile, CNN appears to be putting out fires in the wake of the media storm.

"The rumors that Cooper recently met with CBS News regarding an anchor position are false," a spokesperson at CNN asserted in so many words at the beginning of the week.

"He is not engaged in any additional conversations with them (CBS) beyond those necessary for his continuing role on 60 Minutes," he added with finality.

Will the grey-haired wonder utter up a comment or two to set the record straight?

Barack Obama...double-talk with Anderson Cooper signals slick Barry typical politician!

A large number of Americans tuned in the other night to 360 on CNN to catch the one-on-one historical interview Anderson Cooper conducted with the Prez on his jaunt overseas to Ghana.

On that auspicious occasion, many voters may have caught Barack Obama transform into a bona fide politician right before their eyes, as Cooper tried to pin the Commander-in-Chief down on key issues.

But, it proved to be a slippery task, even for the political-savvy news reporter!

For example, when Cooper (a gay man) queried (no pun intended) Obama about the "Don't Ask Don't Tell" policy in the Military - and his subsequent promise to end that antiquated stance on homosexuality in the ranks - Barack responded in true political style.

"Because the policy was enacted into law," Obama hedged, "I can't very well ask the Military not to enforce it."

At this juncture, the camera panned to a blank stare on Anderson's face.

Then, there was a deafening silence for a moment or two.

With a few carefully chosen words Barack managed to pick up the slack.

"Of course, I intend to take some action on that issue later on," he noted for the record or in words to that effect.

Ironically, his response was just as "on the fence" as the policy itself.

Yup.

Just like a true politician, Barack is now trying to appease both sides.

Consequently, the popular Prez is forced to talk out both sides of his mouth.

In the final analysis, Barack has blossomed into a full-fledged corrupt politician!

In fact, his wishy-washy maneuverings have started to smack a lot like those of slick Willy before him.

Slick Barry?

Has a nice ring to it, doesn't it?

Next, I expect the candidate for change will be saying he's never inhaled.

'Til now - Obama has managed to keep his di** in his pants - though.

With those of the female persuasion, at least.

Meanwhile, another issue rears its ugly - um - head!

How long is the Prez going to refuse to respond to the gay rumors running rampant on the blogosphere?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Just ask the "Globe".

Larry King..tries to trap Depak Chopra and place blame for Michael Jackson tragedy!

It should have been obvious to the keen observer last night that Larry King was clearly laying a trap for the New Age self-proclaimed Guru - Depak Chopra - or at a minimum was pining to toss a little of the blame for Michael Jackson 's untimely demise in his direction.

Was Depak one of the much-scorned inner circle enablers responsible for Michael Jackson's death now shrouded with mystery and intrigue?

According to Depak?

No.

The soft-spoken articulate man was inclined to offer up a handful of scenarios for the viewing audience to digest.

In one instance - when Depak mentioned that children who were abused were often susceptible to various disorders in their adult years - King was quick to interrupt and underscore that a news report released earlier that day stressed there was no evidence supporting that theory or line of thinking.

Ah, King was obviously laying in wait for unsuspecting Chopra!

Without doubt, the scandal-chasing talk-show host tried to seize the moment to discredit Depak on the air, without fair warning.

But, the Spiritual leader was quick on his feet and managed to out-fox the mouthy late-night talkpiece with the penchant for loud tasteless ties!

In fact, Depak not only adeptly sidestepped King's deceitful maneuvers, but managed to score points when he proceeded to clarify for the record that one respected journal just published an article on the issue in support of the theory based on a research project conducted with a handful of qualified subjects.

Without skipping a beat, King pounced.

"Are you saying they're wrong?"

"They're obviously not up on the literature," the best-selling author responded coolly.

Obviously miffed at failing to snare his prey, King sprang into the attack mode on a different front to save face.

"Some say (he didn't specify who) that you tarnished Michael's reputation," he retorted with an accusing tone in his voice.

In his defense, Depak noted in so many words that he simply refused to gloss over the facts.

Depak admitted on air last night, for example, that on occasion he spied an IV Drip in Jackson's bedroom.

In addition, he also witnessed the presence of pharmaceutical paraphernalia out-of-place in a home environment setting without medical supervision.

Michael knew that Depak had a license to write prescriptions for narcotics and tried to trade off of their friendship for access to drugs he felt he needed to alleviate his pain, according to Chopra.

"I refused to write the prescriptions, " Depak noted for the record without blinking an eye.

"Did Michael get angry?" King probed further.

"Yes."

On the heels of this admission, Depak added that Michael was quite a manipulative individual.

And, he added as an afterthought, Michael was difficult to refuse, on occasion.

"That is the problem with celebrity. Doctors are afraid to say no."

The sentiment echoed those expressed by a Jackson attorney on a talk show earlier.

"Michael begged me. He said - 'that machine runs the business' - so, I have to have it," the lawyer fessed up to the interviewer.

Based on that curious argument, the Pop Icon also demanded a doctor be hired 24/7 to administer the drugs at his home at his whim.

So, the handler complied with the request.

In the final analysis, Depak Chopra - in spite of what Larry King may think - is an honest individual who meant well.

In fact, Chopra is exalted in some quarters for a spiritual slant on the natural order of things, which some find quite insightful.

The truth of the matter?

In essence, his new age musings are just watered-down interpretations of the teachings of wise old masters, presented in a palpable new way.

Sadly, his quick-fix solutions were too flimsy to provide a lifeline for Jackson.

Clearly, it was the fault of handlers - business associates, superficial friends, doctors (even Jackson family members afraid to engage in tough love for fear of losing favor with Michael who held the purse strings) - that are responsible for his death.

In due time, the truth shall be revealed.

Barack Obama...National Prayer Service for the elite?

When I flipped on the boob tube bright and early this morning, CNN was in the midst of broadcasting a prayer being offered up to - Barack Obama, his wife Michelle, and their children - in a Church ceremony rife with a lot of pomp and circumstance.

At one point, I was startled to spy a caption at the bottom of the screen which read in plain script:

"National Prayer Service is by invitation only."

Oh, God is exclusionary now?

Well, at least Reverend Jeremiah Wright, Jr. wasn't entertaining the masses with one of his wild and woolley Sermons!

Praise the Lord for that, at least!

Anderson Cooper...underwear fetish? Weekend Gay Pride special...

Spies gossip that Anderson Cooper takes a shower at the gym in a pair of tight white form-fitting spandex boxer-style shorts.

Do you suppose he has a kinky fetish for silky wet fabric against the naked flesh?

Or, is he concerned that if he goes in the buff some sly gym bunny might surreptitiously nab a 360 degree image of the shower scene and stream the video onto the Internet for prying eyes to screen?

Barack Obama...seeks cash from Abercrombie & Fitch flesh?

There was a lot of brouhaha in the press over the past twenty-four hours over a pride of Abercrombie & Fitch models that turned up in back of Barack Obama when he chatted last night in Evansville, Indiana.

At the rally, a campaign volunteer allegedly approached the fellas to queue up behind Obama during the speech.

Pretty up the background? I wonder.

Because their T-shirts were scrawled with the A & F logo on their face, many wondered if Obama was rustling up a bid for some campaign cash from the high-profile retailer, or just lookin' to spruce up the Presidential hopefuls GQ-inspired man-about-town image.

Was it shrewd product placement or just a fluke?

Or, is the Senator going full steam ahead for the gay vote?

Fortunately, the young dudes didn't climb on stage, toss their T's, and show a little naked butt.

That stunt nearly landed Abercrombie & Fitch up on obscenity charges in another part of the Country in recent days.

Do you suppose Obama wears Calvin Klein underwear, too?
