Barack Obama...jets into San Francisco! Horns of dilemma!

Once again, President Obama is jetting into the picturesque bay area to lock "horns" with the captains of Industry on the West Coast.

Actually, on the heels of a controversy over the President's reluctance to engage in a little show-and-tell by coughing up his elusive long-form birth certificate - stirred up by irascible White House hopeful Donald Trump - Obama has reiterated once again for the record that he doesn't have any horns!

"And, I became a man in Chicago," he quipped at the podium last week on the heels of the "birthing" issue which was recently resurrected - ironically - during the sacred Easter holiday season.

However, Governor Brewer nixed all that when she got cold feet and vetoed a bill to force the President's claw - er - hand.

Did Brewer back down for political reasons (with an eye to the future) or because she just doesn't have the balls anymore to fight with the big boys on the hill in Washington?

Meanwhile, the President will rub elbows with enterprising Facebook owner - Mark Zuckerberg  - and other technology leaders shortly after he touches down on the tarmac.

The spirited talks - mostly behind-closed-doors - are expected to put the spotlight on Government investments in research and development, education, and clean energy," according to Barack's handlers.

The president is slated to arrive Thursday evening, then fly out of San Francisco International Airport on Friday morning, on a precise no-nonesense time-table.

Will Barack dawdle a moment-or-two at SFO to take a gander at dazzling spanking-new Terminal 2, which was recently transformed into a jet-setter's hop-over paradise?

By the way, the President has invited fascinated voters to get involved virtually - on the Internet this intriguing time-around.

Barack is now utilizing the potent power of the world-wide-web (and its ubiquitous presence) to rustle up - a younger, hipper, more technologically-advanced demographic - which will undoubtedly help him land the election in 2012.

While the White House insists that the President is only trying to reach out to Americans who would not generally turn to traditional media sources for information, Facebook has been exploiting the situation in a sly bold-faced effort to play a major role in President Obama's political campaign next year.

It's good for business, after all.

The heck with the country, eh?

Do you suppose the hornless one owns stock in the popular social hub?

Only the Winklevoss twins - and Mark Zuckerberg - know for sure.

Charlie Sheen...winning streak ends! In words of Donald Trump...

In response to Charlie Sheen's laments over the weekend that the brass at the Network failed to return his telephone calls regarding the production of - "Two and a half Men" - the execs at Warner Brothers finally ended the suspense.

Instead of a jolt in the arm, the suits delivered a lethal blow.

Uh-huh!

In the words of the immortal Donald Trump, they were inclined to utter up:

"You're fired!"

Since the fate of the show is still up-in-the-air, pundits have been quick to drag long-in-the-tooth actor John Stamos into the frey (a possible replacement) to underscore a Hollywood reality.

Everyone can be replaced!

That's usually a given, when disputes arise with tempermental talents on the creative end, and especially rings true when troubles arise with vain egotistical actors starring in the hit shows.

Except with one notable exception in recent years.

If you recall - the cast of "Friends" were able to hold out - and achieve their big buck demands.

Why, pray tell?

Because all of the actors held their ground and stood together in the good fight.

In retrospect?

Charlie Sheen should have reached out to the other one-and-a-half men on the popular TV sitcom.

Is a reality show in the wings for Sheen now?

Julian Ayrs 3rd Annual Best/Worst Dressed...Men & Women on alert!

Oh, I can't believe it is just about that time again!

As December rolls around, I will start compiling my Best & Worst Dressed lists - with a focus on the Men & Women who sashay into the sizzling glare of the daily spotlight in glitzy Film & TV Entertainment circles, the staid Political arena, provocative Music industry - you name it!

Uh-huh!

I will be scouring the red carpet, perusing the supermarket tabloids - and surreptiously taking an up-close gander at publicity stills caught on the fly by the ravenous International paparazzi - in a bold-faced searing effort to crown the chic fashionistas - and likewise - banish the stylish flops who turned-out pathetically (as ugly swans) this past year!

If you recall - last December - Lady GaGa garnered her own special category:

Best-Dressed / Worst-Dressed Pop Diva

Unfortunately, there is no category for "meat" this year, so the Pop Temptress may be SOL!

Meanwhile, celebrities like - Cher, Emma Thompson and Barbra Streisand - may wash out once again once I start to rustle up the run-down for the worst-dressed of 2010.

A posse of dudes held up well under close scrutiny the last time out - Blair Underwood (actor), Brian Williams (TV news anchor), and President Barack Obama - to name a few.

At a screening the other evening - a fan of Johnny Mathis - put in a plug for the crooner with the golden pipes who still has the uncanny ability to make the ladies (and dudes) swoon!

"He's 75 years old, but he still looks sharp in his turtle necks, and classy suits," she gushed!

Uh-huh!

We'll see, dahlink!

If you have any suggestions, do pass 'em along, eh?

The fashion appraisal - with a nod to Mr. Blackwell - is due out on New Year's Eve.

Miss Universe...Miss Mexico nabs Crown! Brett Michaels hosts Trump snake-oil pitch!

Expensive fabrics draped the toned bodies of pretty contestants dripping  with dazzling gems, Hotelier Donald Trump urged television viewers to stay tuned because - after all - it was a live show (and “anything might happen“) - and a celebrity panel of well heeled Judges (which included one of the Baldwin boys, actress Jane Seymour, and ice-skater Evan Lysacek) struggled with the tough task ahead.

Selecting a candidate to be crowned Ms. Universe 2010 was not going to be an easy assignment - especially in view of the bevy of breath-taking beauties who turned out - in a bold-faced effort to snatch up the coveted title.

The telecast broadcast from glitzy Las Vegas was a splashy entertaining extravaganza which occasionally crossed the line and became a two hour commercial touting hair products, luxury resorts, and a surreal superficial dream that smacked of crass commercialism (though attainable).

What do you expect from "The Donald" - who co-host Brett Michaels referred to as - the Rock Star of real estate development?

The pageant contestants - who were little more than glorified Ambassadors of beauty for a host of Nations - strutted the stage in chic designer threads, bared their souls in backstage confessions, and ultimately fought tooth-and-nail underneath thick skin for a shot at a Diamond Nexus Crown and a swag bag that included a designer wardrobe, a year's supply of hair products, a closet-full of shoes, you name it.

In a dramatic moment - geared towards uncovering the stuff each model was made of - five of the finalists selected a question from a glass jar (transparency is important now-a-days in view of past scandals) to expound their lofty thoughts on.

One young woman noted that she wasn’t opposed to body scans at airports if it was going to save lives.

Another gorgeous gal appeared to miss the point when she objected to Government laws that enforced codes of dress in public, social, or work environs.

"Women should be able to wear what they want," she quipped without batting a make-up-laden eye-lash.

The root of the issue - religious considerations, for example - totally escaped her.

Did a government have a right to bar a modern woman from observing her cultural leanings or religious faith?

One sly gal asserted there were no incidents in her past to be concerned about - then confidently - gushed to the Judges that there was nothing she would do differently in her short life to date as a consequence.

Someone will probably drag out erotic nude photos of her nubile young bod in the near future, just betcha!

At this juncture, the gracious entrant thanked her family and friends for their loving support.

Brett Michaels was okay as a co-host and managed to pull off the task without any hitches.

I guess Ryan Seacrest wasn't available.

Brett was impeccably turned-out in an elegant black tux which featured satin flourishes on the lapels, shoulders and pockets, velvet button-down vest, and dress shirt open at the collar.

A silly necklace - and ubiquitous bandanna - turned the look into a fashion disaster in the final analysis, though.

Was he covering up a receding hairline, thinning hair, or what?

The fashion parade of designer gowns modelled by the beauty Queens was a visual delight.

As John Fever tickled the ivories - and belted out a ballad - the stunning models floated across the stage and  wowed the captive packed house below the footlights who excitedly broke into raucous rounds of applause throughout the heady evening.

The outfits ran the gamut from elegant and chic to dowdy and overdone.

Miss Ireland's necklace competed with a gown that - on its own - may have survived close scrutiny otherwise.

The contestant from Albania was stunning, on the other hand, in an open-backed diamond-studded gown accessorized with tasteful jewellery.

The gown worn by Ms. Philippines bellowed a big bow and long train which turned out to be a lot of excess baggage that bogged her look down (in my estimation).

The aqua number by Miss Jamaica was downright tacky - mainly due to the fact - there was too much design effort at the chest and waistline that distracted and weighed the outfit down.

The red flowing designer piece - with ruby button flourishes setting off a neckline - was a winner worn by Miss Mexico

In essence, the Pageant was all about knock-out female beauties, their heavenly charms, and the swirl of perfumed air they waft on.

The Miss Universe broadcast included product breaks backstage - where reps from the sponsors of hair pricey products such as CHI - shared techniques in hair styling.
,
Tips, that required the use of the house brands provided by the sponsors, naturally.

Donald Trump - that rascal - took advantage of the broadcast to give Las Vegas and Nevada tourist hot spots a pushy plug.

Well-crafted video clips of Lake Mead (reservoir), Seven Sisters, and the Grand Canyon appealed to the senses - as far as contrived fluff goes - anyhoo.

The ladies demonstrated they were unselfish caring individuals when it was revealed that a part of the pageant activities included a drive to raise funds for a Nevada cancer charity.

The MGM Grand, the Mirage, Mandalay Bay (who hosted the pageant in their luxurious banquet room) and the Monte Carlo Resort were also featured in a larger-than-life promo that stressed how tactless a snake-oil-salesman Trump can be when given the chance.

One highlight of the night was a number - featuring five or six Elvis look-a-likes - performing a number from the sold out Cirque du Soleil live stage show titled Viva Las Vegas.

Male viewers were probably on the edge of their seats at home, panting over the swim suit segment, which was sizzling hot.

Models - perky, sensual, flirty - slipped into flimsy sexy bikinis (and heels) and walked-the-walk confidently as they savored their moment in the International sun.

Amidst the strains of "Hunka Burning Love", the girls paraded by, all flawless skin and lustrous "do's".

The set - crafted in grey metal - was too austere, though.

Cold, emotionless, too corporate.

Like the Ms.Universe competition?

Ms. Australia was chosen by her peers to take honors for Ms. Congeniality.

The TV viewing audience was given the opportunity to vote on the most photogenic model and best costume, to their delight.

In both instances, the fans chose Ms. Thailand.

When it came to the climatic moment to crown the new Ms. Universe there weren't any surprises.

1st runner up was Ms. Jamaica (who had been received well by the wild enthusiastic audience all evening).

But, a classic Latino beauty - with wide dark eyes and flawless skin - nabbed the Crown.

In view of all the illegal Mexican immigrant ink running rampant in recent days, I expect the honor boosted the country's pride in their homeland last night and on these troubled political shores.

In a heartfelt moment, the losing contestants swarmed the shy winner, and offered up congratulations like they really meant it.

Oh, there probably wasn't a dry eye in the house.

Yeah, I'm a sucker for schmaltz, too.

Excuse me while I go grab a hankie and blow my nose.

Til next year!

Tara Conner...Miss USA's cocaine use! Lesbo indescretions! Trump firing!

Amidst a swirl of - late-night partying, alleged cocaine abuse, and flagrant dalliances with the love that "once" dare not speak its name - Donald Trump struggled to come to grips with the dilemma.

Did Tara's misbehavin' - under the glare of the public spotlight - constitute grounds for a fall from Grace and the loss of her once sparkly Crown?

As ambitious tabloid reporters scrambled for all the juicy tidbits, one source of information turned out to be pretty reliable.

A doorman at Trump Place confirmed to a couple of fast-thinking snoops that gorgeous Miss USA - Tara Conner - was turfed out of a suite generously provided by - um - pageant management since spring.

I trust the "Donald" gave proper legal notice to vacate.

If not, in the alternative, I expect there was a handky-panky clause conjured up to expedite the movement of  "trash".

For Conner, it was obvious her days were numbered under the Trump banner, when a committee swept into action to determine if a wild debauched lifestyle was interferring with her performance (and morals) contract.

Gossips tittered - and tweeted, too - that Miss USA was caught up in a swirl of late-night club-hopping ( that even Lindsay Lohan would be envious of), flaunted underage drinking, and was careless in respect to a sexy in-your-face lifestyle that bordered on the scandalous.

Inside sources insist that Tara's sudden departure was due the fact she tested positive for cocaine use.

In spite of  NYC's reputation for being an "anything goes" kind-of-town, tongues wagged over sexually-stimulating dance routines she engaged in with Katie Blair (Miss Teen USA) with gay abandon.

And, what of those deep passionate kisses, the envy of Al Gore?

A mere peck on the cheek, darlink!

'She has a really bad drug problem," a source close to the pageant whispered in one reporter's ear.

Can the little cutie lick it?

The monkey on her back, silly!

Donald Trump...green-eyed monster takes swipe at Vegas CityCenter! "Do" worse catastrophe...

The "Donald" - self-proclaimed developer extraordinaire - has been taking swipes at the spanking-new CityCenter here in Las Vegas which is scheduled to unveil one of its sumptuous centerpieces - the Aria Hotel - amid a lot of hoopla and fanfare tonight just shy of the witching hourt.

Say it ain't so!

The complex is a stunning architectural delight  literally transforming the Vegas skyline before our very eyes.

On Larry King Live! - the ever-pompous, slightly-stuffy, full-of-himself  know-it-all - labelled the dazzling complex an "absolute catastrophe".

Did I tune in a little late and miss something?

Surely it was his "do" that he was referring to!

On the heels of bad-mouthing the project on CNN, Trump - known for erecting monuments to his ego - was so possessed by the green-eyed monster that he found it necessary to call up one of the local gossip mavens and expand on his acid-tongued criticisms.

In today's "Vegas Confidential" column - published in the Las Vegas Review Journal - a columnist known-locally as "Norm" quoted Trump verbatim.

"The biggest problem is it costs so much," Trump lamented (as if it was any of his business!)

"It costs billions more (!) than anticipated and it's going to be hard to recover from that."

Hogwash!

A vulgar man with taste up the wazoo - and  a tendency to over-decorate - Trump has some nerve criticizing a handful of developers who have already proven their aesthetic capabilities (and fiscal responsibility) by virtue of the dazzling "greeen" gem that now rests in the "heart" of the city.

In all reality, Trump is just a migraine in a nerve center down the street, who'd be wise to shut his yap.

Vegas has been pining for a jump start - of the kind that CityCenter can deliver up right now - provided selfish mouthy a**holes like Trump don't screw it up.

The man should be strung up by the ba**s.

Unfortunately, he doesn't have any.

All mouth, and no potatoes, if you ask me!

Donald Trump...the chump in Beauty Queen fiasco! Aging Lothario led around by end of di**...

"Good pu**y is hard to find," says the "Donald"

One pundit put it quite succinctly yesterday on one of the dizzying array of network new shows blitzing the airwaves with updates on the Donald Trump beauty Queen fiasco that has unfolded in the last twenty-four hours.

"When men view half-naked photographs of sexy women, they get stupid."

A case in point.

In spite of the fact a handful of revealing photographs of Ms. California were circulating the Internet and stirring up a controversy, Trump opt to pooh-pooh the critics and look the other way.

To many, the aging letch simply succumbed to the animal side of his male nature.

"Trump's being led around by the end of his di**," some are lamenting.

Many reporters are also irked by the arrogance of the man and his bold-faced efforts to sweep the truth under his - um - rug.

For example, when Ms. California was asked a pointed question about the nude photographs - and whether or not she lied to pageant officials - Trump stopped the line of questioning short.

"That's an unfair question."

Hogwash!

News anchors - and gossip mongers alike - were stunned by Trump's flagrant disregard for the truth.

Although Ms. California lost her tarnished crown earlier in the week - rightly so, in my opinion - Trump chose to reinstate the statuesque flake yesterday.

The "Donald" is owner of the Miss Universe and USA Pageant system and - yes, choke on this - final arbitrator on all such matters.

So, the co** teaser gets off scott-free.

But, the intrigues don't stop there!

One celebrity gossip alleged in one updated news flash yesterday that the whole "gay marriage" controversy was a set-up from the get-go.

"Pageant officials instructed Perez Hilton to pose that question," one insider alleged matter-of-fact as jaws dropped in the newsroom.

Then, there is the question of ethics.

Allegedly, the pageant paid for Ms. California's "boob job".

In the final analysis, Trump had to protect his investment, eh?

And, what did the lounge lizard get in return?

News at 11.

A hard-on for blonds!

The Apprentice...you're fired? Not!

Well, the "Donald" trumped my wildest expectations this week on the NBC reality show - "The Apprentice" - by virtue of a charitable decision he rendered in the boardroom.

For the first time ever, the "boss" was reluctant to level his bushy eyebrows, point a liver-warted finger at an aspiring exec, and snarl - "You're fired!"

We wuz robbed, too!

And one lucky devil escaped the axe.

But, I sort-of saw it comin'; couldn't blame the mercurial entrepreneur for his surprising change of heart, one bit!

The whole sorry scenario started when a couple of team members started sluggin' it out early on in last week's segment.

"Touch me and I'll punch you," hissed a young African-American female contestant to the project manager (rather a fuss-budget himself) just shortly on the heels of "firing her a**.

And, when the naughty nitty spat out derogatory remarks about her rival - and dragged his kids into the fray, wouldn't 'ya know it - the Brit was truly "hot to trot".

Quite a shameless boob-tube moment, even as far as reality TV shows go.

Out on the public turf - the two hurled biting insults at each other - as a throng of startled tourists and other hangers-on watched from the sidelines perplexed and choking on disbelief.

In fact, the incident caused a prize fighter - also competing for the big charity bucks on Trump's titillating show - to utter in disgust,

"She was nasty. That was ghetto stuff."

Ouch!

In the boardroom, when asked to recall the day's events, the project manager at the center of the dispute let into the sulking woman.

"She's low-life trash," he lamented adamantly.

From there, the sh** spiraled downhill fast!

Surely the "Donald" must have peeked at the reels of footage shot earlier in the day at Central Park?

If so, what a poker face he wears as a mask to the world!

Unfortunately, bad behavin' aside, Trump was forced to take a look at the tally sheets first (from the day's challenge) before rendering a decision about who to fire off the show.

As fate would have it, the spastic troubled apprentice ship scored so high, Trump was forced to pass on firing a "rotten to-the-core" person who warranted a reprisal from the big honcho in the Executive Suite.

So, the kingpin of high finance in control of his own monopoly empire, was faced with a difficult task.

How to fire an individual from a team when all of its members had been respectful of each other? Why, the gang even steered away from the usual bad-mouthing and the cutting-of throats that is generally requisite game-play on the Apprentice.

They don't say - "nice guys finish last" - for no good reason!

In fact, when given the opportunity to save their own skins, no one on the motley crew dared point an accusing finger at a fellow task master, either.

Indeed, no one was inclined to sink this shiperoonie, mate!

When each was offered a simple solution - the opportunity to resign, for instance - and avoid unpleasantness with little ado, all held fast.

It was nay on all fronts. Each stuck to his or her gun.

All for one and one for all!

The world stood still for a moment for the irascible Mr. Trump.

Suddenly, and without warning, he softly informed the anxious team,

"No one is getting fired tonight."

Yeah, the Corporate world shuddered for a moment or two.

Then it was business, as usual. See 'ya next week!

You know, I used to think Mr. Trump was a real jacka**. And, I've never been a fan of his "do", either.

No more!

In one shining moment - by virtue of one charitable act - the man displayed remarkable wisdom, humanity, and compassion at the drop of a hat.

Good on you, Mr. Trump.

Now, if you could just fathom a way to overhaul a couple of those gaudy, over-decorated Hotels you own...
