Oh-Land...live performance @ Abbey a hit with locals! Copenhagen beauty's star on rise!

On the rounds of WeHo last night, I stumbled onto a very special live performance by Copenhagen beauty with an unusual name - Oh-Land - at the ever-popular Abbey.

The fresh-faced talent has a captivating stage presence and a great sound!

Surprisingly - in spite of the limited acoustics and small ill-equipped stage at the Robertson Blvd hang-out - the sexy pop singer managed to turn out a set that was vastly entertaining.

Oh-land was definitely a crowd-pleaser!

When she gazed into the audience, even the jaded locals who frequent the trendy watering hole, melted away.

Once Oh-Land began to rock the stage, the house was up - dancing & clapping - and cheering the sensual chanteuse on.

One of her handlers, who introduced her last night to the enthusiastic pub crawlers, noted that an album will debut in March.

And, it was also announced that Oh-Land has already managed to snag the eye of talent scouts around the country.

No wonder!

In the near future, Oh-Land (who graciously spelled out her name to me backstage amidst a throng of delighted fans) is expected to appear on a handful of the top-rated talk shows on Network TV in the near future.

I expect that her career will zoom into the stratosphere once America is introduced to this gorgeous talented young woman.

Oh-Land may give Lady Gaga a run for her money!

Justin Bieber...shifts fashion gears! Style conscious now...

Pop flavor to Bieber's style!

OMG!

Justin has broken the "Bieber" heartthrob mold!

On the TODAY show this morning, for instance, the chart-topper gyrated to a different fashion beat!

Until now, Bieber has been pretty predictable when it came to the kind of star threads he chose to enhance his sexy boy-toy persona on stage!

Chic leather jacket! Designer Jeans! Snazzy signature sneakers!

Today, there was an unexpected switcheroo!

At the crack of dawn, Bieber trotted out in a luxurious-looking white sweater, chic black designer scarf - draped just so - at the neck, dress slacks in slate grey, and matching high-top sneakers.

Has Ermenegeldo Zegna being giving the  Pop Idol pointers on style?

Ting Tings...drummer hot! Lead vocalist crankin' out catchy sound...

On Saturday Night Live the "Ting Tings" kicked up a musical storm that entertained thoroughly.

The Ting Tings is a Grammy-nominated English Indie pop duo comprised of Jules De Martino (drums, lead guitar, vocals, piano) and Katie White (vocals, guitar, bass drums, bass guitar, and cow bells).

For a lone two-man band - the rising musical pop stars - pack quite a whallop!

They're not hard to gaze at, either.

The front woman, Katie White, strutted the stage leather-clad, hip, and pretty.

Meanwhile, the studly hard-driving drummer drove home the raw novel sound with a strident catchy beat.

A youthful exuberance the "Tings" exhibited in their live performance was downright contagious.

Originally from Hackney (London), the two charismatic musicians formed the Ting Tings in December of 2007 while they were hunkered down at Islington Mill Artist Studios in Salford recording.

Stand-out performances at the Mod Club Theatre (March/2009) triggered a buzz in industry circles, and there has been no looking back for the dazzling duo since.

Their musical influences appear to flow from pop rock, Indie pop, and dance punk.

The band's debut album - "We Started Nothing" - was officially released on the 19th of May (2008).

However, because the recordings were leaked onto the Internet on May 13th (a week earlier), the single - "That's Not My Name" - managed to leap to No. 1 on the UK Singles Charts almost overnight.

A bullet, alright!

A high-profile performance at a i Tunes Live London Festival (held in the KoKo nightclub on July 9th/2008) was released as a downloadable EP in the iTunes store (and quickly streamed into  private music collections of fans around the globe).

Their influence has reached out into the mainstream of Pop Culture, too.

For example, their singles = "Shut Up and Let Me Go" and "We Started Nothing" - were featured on the ratings-getter Gossip Girl.

"Be the One" was featured on the popular TV series "One Tree Hill".

Their single - "Great DJ" - was also laid into theatrical trailers for the Anna Faris comedy - "The House Bunny" - and the Oscar-winning Slumdog Millionaire.

The Ting Tings drove audiences wild on the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards when they performed small interludes consisting of remixes of past hits honored by the industry.

The band won a Best UK Video Award for their single "Shut Up and Let Me Go".

Justin Bieber...fans chase Pop Idol down London Streets!

In the wake of surge of frenzied fans descending on his motorcade as he exited a London Studio - Pop heart-throb Justin Bieber - was forced to tweet an urgent message to ecstatic fans.

"Don't bang on the car windows. Someone might get hurt," he cautioned from inside the comfy environs of a chauffered vehicle as a mob of anxious girls overtaken by emotion swarmed all around with the hope of catching a mere glimpse of the object of their desire.

Justin Bieber is the latest pop sensation to break onto the entertainment scene at the tender age of 16.

The cute singer - discovered on YouTube by a jaded music promoter (Scooter Braun) with a keen eye towards talent - soared into the lofty teeny-bopper stratosphere shortly after an audition with USHER resulted in a recording contract with Island records which struck chart-topping gold.

Subsequently, Bieber is currently taking the world by storm.

The 1st part of a two-part debut album titled - "My World" - has been well-received by music critics, too.

A handful of the original tunes - "One Time", "One Less Lonely Girl", "Love Me", and "Favorite Girl" - took off like a bullet and landed in the top 15 slot on the Canada's Hot 100 and Top 40 hits on the Billboard Hot 100.

Bieber is the only musician in Billboard history to have four singles from a debut album chart in the Top 40 of the Hot 100 before an album's actual release.

In the first week after its initial splash onto the music scene, Bieber was able to boast that 137,000 copies flew off the shelves, no problem..

In fact, "My World" debuted at #1 on the Canadian Albums Chart and went Gold in a week.

In less than a month the album was certified Platinum in Canada.

Bieber became the first artist to have all songs from a single album to chart in the U.S. Hot 100, too.

"I sing about girls," he confessed ruefully to one reporter in a recent interview after admitting pretty young ladies turned him on.

Because of his own crush on Beyonce - who he met recently amid a lot of fanfare - he understands the need to give his fans a bit of up-close personal attention whenever possible.

"I give them a hug. Sign autographs, that sort-of-thing," he beamed.

Of late, Bieber has been a mainstay on popular shows on the TV circuit such as Lopez Tonight, the Ellen DeGeneres Show, Chelsea Lately, and Good Morning America (to name a few), which has heightened his International image somewhat.

The likeable musical phenomenon sang for the President and the 1st lady recently at a White House Christmas celebration which was a televised event to benefit the National Children's Medical Center.

High-profile events such as these have caused many to tout Bieber as a positive influence on North American youth.

Just prior to a recent trek on stage to perform, the singer huddled with his devoted handlers for a moment of prayer, which also sat well with the squeaky clean image he savors.

But, every day on the concert trail is not all that rosy, though.

At a scheduled concert in Long Island, for instance, a near riot broke out due to a crowd control problem which got out of hand.

Allegedly - after a fan screamed out that Bieber was in a local Abercrombie Kids store - mayhem broke out as concert-goers swarmed the retail outlet.

Police feared that the crowd (cramming the mall's upstairs corridor) would force a metal-and-glass railing to snap and possible send hundreds of girls tumbling to the lower level.

Therefore, the police denied entry to Bieber because of the potential danger.

"It was so crazy that I couldn't get to even come in the building," the singer lamented later on a popular radio show.

No hoody purchases that day, folks!

"They basically threatened to put me in cuffs and send me away to jail."

Oh my Gosh!

The price of Pop Stardom, I guess!

American Idol...Pop Icon dames pitch-hit in Judge's hot seat! Abdul stewing...

Victoria Beckham (Posh) to spark ratings!

Well, 'ya know what they say in Hollywood, dude!

"Everyone is expendable"

In spite of the fact American Idol big-wigs in the executive suite pooh-poohed any notion that the Paula Abdul switcheroo in the eleventh hour wouldn't hurt the perky little sexpot's chances for a second grab at the brass ring at Fox - they've definitely moved on - to bask in the glow of a different musical beat.

Starting the seventh week into the highly-rated talent showcase, a bevy of Pop Icon Superstars (of the glamorous female persuasion) will take up the celebrated task of judging the aspiring singers each week on Fox.

Victoria Beckham, trophy wife of soccer stud David Beckham, will grace the Idol stage when it revs up in January, for starters.

It'll be a ratings double-whammy for Fox if studly Becks trots in on the chanteuse's bejewelled arm, eh?

Producers have scooped up Katy Perry, too.

So much for Paula Abdul.

Who?

Winston Churchill once quipped:

"Everyone has his day and some last longer than others.
