Hillary Clinton...Dick Morris quote on Secretary of State!

Dick Morris appeared on Bill O’Reilly's gab best this afternoon and the lively discussion turned to a comment that the Secretary of State uttered up on 60 minutes this past Sunday.

O'Reilly was eager to know - Morris being a friend of Hillary’s after all - if the best-selling author knew why the self-serving politician made a statement about the economy being pulled into the ditch.

Was Hillary taking a swipe at her boss - Barack Obama - or laying the groundwork for her own presidential bid a couple of years down the campaign trail (he wondered aloud).

“Was it just a spontaneous remark, Dick?"

Dick Morris laughed and quipped with nary a thought of repercussion.

“There is nothing spontaneous about Hillary.”

Gosh, he got that right!

Bill O'Reilly...Factor host hails Tom Hanks a pin head! Pundits don't escape wrath...

Pin Head slight of day!

The other evening Fox's O'Reilly was quite adamant that Tom Hanks was a pin head.

Gosh, I've been wising folks up about the fact that life with the "Big" star is not a box of chocolates, whenever the puffy-looking dork takes the stage.

Frankly, Bill O'Reilly's jibes are more searing when he zeroes in on pundits he invites on the show to spout off about subjects they have failed to research or know little about.

O'Reilly doesn't take any prisoners in that regard.

Nope, without hesitation, he goes in for the kill.

For example, when an alleged female "analyst" appeared to discuss the pro's and con's of Barack Obama's Health Reform plan the other night, she goofed big time.

And, O'Reilly was there to jump on the gaffe, much to her chagrin.

When asked what were "three positive aspects" of the Health reform plan currently on tap, the twit stridently asserted that everyone would be forced to select a health plan.

What a ludicrous notion.

"It won't fly," O'Reilly stated matter-of-fact in so many words.

Oh it will, it will, she insisted as she arrogantly tossed back her head.

"It won't," he quipped, "because we have a U.S. Constitution."

The dizzy broad still didn't get it (and argued the point further to her detriment).

O'Reilly tried to explain that the government (even insurance companies) couldn't force people to buy a health plan (or participate in one).

In a nutshell, the whole concept was un-American, after all.

To save face, she quickly grappled with the dilemma, then offered up an off-point alternative.

"Well, they can't be denied insurance based on pre-exisitng medical conditions, then."

Typical of a handful of these big-mouthed "know-it-alls" - the dragon lady - was clueless.

The issues she was struggling to address, amounted to "oranges" and "apples", for heaven's sake.

Other guests faired just as poorly under the glare of O'Reilly's insightful spotlight.

Say what you will about O'Reilly, but the man has ba**s.

Tthat's why he's the King of the heap when it comes to getting to the nitty-gritty in the hardball realm of  dirty politics.

Bloggers...under "big tent" at Democratic National Convention!

Blogger keyboards at the ready...

Some have been grumbling at the Democratic National Convention that bloggers don't get any respect.

But, you've come a long way, newbie!

At the convention in 2004, those who loved to "post-it" in the blogosphere were issued press credentials, granted.

And, allowed to mingle with the elite in the mainstream media.

But, the relations were strained a tad.

At the Dems' big bash this year, illustrious bloggers have not only been given the "green light" for access to all the relevant (and not so relevant) political events, but given asylum - if you will - under a "big tent".

The grandiose digs herald a new dawn for Internet pundits who have gained momentum and power in recent days on the political landscape.

Just ask Obama and Clinton - who are still stinging from a spiteful blogger's word-stalking - on the campaign trail in recent days.

Although blogsters were required to cough up one hundred bucks for their credentials, the joyride include wi-fi access, free burritos, and never-ending kegs of beer to wash the high-protein snack down with.

Heh, they're making out like bandits in Denver.

I'd better hop on a plane, pronto, and join the fray!

But, there have been some glitches in communication - in spite of the state-of-the-art presence of gizmos provided by two generous sponsors - Google and Digg.

When MSNBC tried to hand over the reigns to a newsie in-the-field for coverage on the blog presence at the Democratic Convention this morning, a number of technical difficulties delayed broadcast of the reports.

The anchor man joked,

"This is all the way from the Bloggers' camp in the Ukraine, so the feed is slow."

In view of the way some of the legit high-powered media types treat 'em, they may as well be!

All kidding aside, the bloggers appear to be happy as clams in their comfy digs.

One web writer noted on-camera that the free-standing canvas facility provided an independent base for their cerebral musings to emanate freely from.

No, sir!

This savvy blogster didn't intend to be influenced - nor did he plan to kow-tow to - the Democratic machine spinning their own wheels just outside the tent flaps.

Google and Digg sponsored the 8,000 square foot facility which includes a theatre, lots of leading-edge gizmos, and all the blogger interaction you could imagine in your wildest web-surfing dreams.

But, what will the talking heads produce, I wonder.

I'll be cruising the net this evening to take a gander.

Let's hope what Barbara Ehrenreich once opined is not true:

"We who officially value freedom of speech above life itself seem to have nothing to talk about but the weather."

Tom Brokaw...quote of the day! Was Hillary pushed out of race?

I had a dream!

Well, if you're like me, you woke up this week and suddenly realized there was no one left to kick around in the Democratic party.

Talk about a vacuum!

When queried on the issue, one top newsman was inclined to access the situation this way:

"It was inappropriate for journalists especially to try to cut the process short," Brokaw quipped from the sidelines.

"It was an appropriate issue for people to report on, in context, but there was an awful lot of commentary disguised as reporting that gave the impression that people were trying to shove her out of the race."

Is he kidding?

Of course, we were!

Tim Russert...lands big Marlin; "fin-is" for Clinton!

This past week, pundit Tim Russert was touted for landing the big Marlin...

Throughout the debates the affable political-savvy interviewer tried to pin down Hillary Clinton in respect to her vote on the Military presence in Iraq.

But, wily Hillary continued to deftly elude the probing journalist here and there throughout; until, he posed a particularly appealing question,

"Is there anything you'd like to take back?" he pointedly asked Hillary.

Lo and behold...the heavens opened, the trumpets sounded, and Hillary lamented at long last,

"Yes, that vote (on Iraq)..."

As a fellow pundit astutely noted, "Well, she floundered in the boat a bit. But you reeled her in. Tim, you landed the big Marlin!"

It was tough, but the prettiest lure finally snared her...

Now, about those tax records...

Ronald Reagan...political contributions, according to pundits!

On a talk show this past week, when Ronald Reagan's name popped up in the conversation, Tom Brokaw noted that the former president made a distinct contribution with regard to party lines.

"He created a new class of voters...the Republican-Democrat," the newsman laughed.

Democrats...2 1/2 candidates, according to Today Show pundit!

When Matt Lauer asked a pundit - Tim Russert - appearing on the Today show as a guest, how the field was shaping up for both the Republicans and the Democrats after underdog Mitt Romney's big "Win Tuesday", he opined,

"The Republicans have about 3 or 4 potential candidates. And, the Democrats have about 2 1/2 or 3."

A half? - Lauer quizzically responded...

So, who was the pint-sized candidate Russert was referring to, when he "misspoke"?

John Edwards losing muscle?

George Bush...too late to abort! Voter disapproval up!

Last night, a newsman interviewing George Bush one-on-one, noted that the President's popularity was at an all-time low in the United States.

In response to the reporter's query about how he felt about that, Mr. Bush responded,

"Well, I'm not going to bend over into the fetal position because of it," he laughed somewhat maniacally.

No, George, it's a little too late to abort.
