Rihanna...hosts sizzling hot after-party at Nikki Beach tonight! Perez Hilton to scoff up scoop?

In a bid to turn Nikki Beach into a sizzling-hot player on the Vegas Strip the savvy brass at the Tropicana Hotel scored big this 4th of July weekend.

Rihanna was lured to host a chi-chi after-party for the fickle trendy set tonight.

Expect a sell-out packed gang of party-heartiers!

The flaming red-head (!) is expected to saunter in around the witching hour to toast the town that recently welcomed her with open arms.

Say, Perez Hilton was in Sin City last night to kick-off his own brand of 4th of July celebrations, at the Bellagio.

Do you expect he'll sashay in tonight to sniff out all the scoop, gossip, and poop?

Britney Spears...to sashay into Nikki Beach Par-tay! "Circus Girl" the toast of Vegas!

The last time I spied Britney Spears poolside in the desert oasis was a couple of years ago when I attended the local film festival - CineVegas - at a handful of venues around town.

I was interviewing celebs on the red carpet when I happened to strike up a rapport with a couple of the local paparazzi who plied me with juicy inside tidbits about Ms. Spears.

Uh-huh!

Scandal-ridden Brit was suffering from the blues when she jetted in to town for a respite from it all that week.

"Britney is hunkered down in a Condo upstairs," one of the professional snoops confided in me.

"She's a good friend of the Hotel owner, George Maloof," he underscored, as an afterthought.

I was quite familiar with the scuttlebutt.

Ms. Spear's musical persona was in the dumper and rumors abounded that Maloof was going to sign her to a contract with the specific aim of raising up her wobbling career like a Phoenix from the ashes.

The two outgoing down-to-earth dudes were hanging out downstairs anxious to get a "money shot" before she skipped town.

"Good luck," I chuckled, as I headed off to a chic soiree I was invited to on the pool deck.

Shortly after I sauntered in, there was as definite buzz in the air.

Yup!

Although Britney made a quiet entrance into the par-tay through a side-door, the news swept through the upscale party guests quicker than the speed of lightning, that the scandal-ridden Pop Queen was in their midst!

I reported on the event at the time.

By the way, I couldn't resist strolling by the vicinity where she was holding court, to get a gander myself.

OMG!

Britney and I actually exchanged glances!

Now, her handlers have announced that Britney will be attending the Grand Opening of Nikki Beach at the newly-renovated Tropicana Hotel on the weekend, after she performs live! on stage in a much-anticipated Las Vegas concert. (which I expect will be a sell-out).

No doubt, long queues will form at the glittering Hotel on that celebrated evening, when the young DIVA makes her grand entrance into the frenzied swirl of Las Vegas social life!

Las Vegas...butt-crack cleavage the rage! Fashion Police, please!

Now that pool parties are in vogue, style-setters are upping the stakes when they take a splash in Vegas this summer.

Bodacious babes are tossing on itty-bitty bikini bottoms that expose a lot of titillating "butt cleavage" (a term coined by a local reporter at one of the dailies) to gain a competitive edge in the fleshy marketplace.

Of course, the trend begs the question.

Are Hoteliers going to rustle up the assistance of the Fashion Place to curb the tendency for a few die-hards to go over the deep end?

I recall that last year Abercrombie & Fitch ran into a bit of interference with the Vice squad when they launched a promotion featuring a bevy of beautiful boys with their ass cracks hanging out in plain view.

In spite of the outrage around the country, the retailer prevailed in court, however.

Law enforcements claimed that the ads bordered on the obscene, but an open-minded Judge, tossed the allegations out of court.

Even still, one has to wonder if Management at the local hot spots may be keeping their eye out after midnight when all the hanky-panky goes down around the hot tubs!

Well, they don't call Vegas "Sin City" for no good reason!

If you want to get in on the action, check out spanking-new swank Nikki Beach (Tropicana Hotel) or Encore Beach at the Wynn Hotel.

Tropicana Hotel in Vegas...Nikki Beach party kicks-off new image! Facelift appealing!

One of the grand old Hotels in Las Vegas has been gussied up just in time for the upcoming Memorial Day weekend.

To the tune of a $180 million-dollar in renovation costs according to my reliable sources!

Later today, the freshly-minted - Nikki Beach - will toss a chic White Party to celebrate the "opening" which is expected to attract quite a star-studded crowd of elite party-crashers bent on getting down and boogeying into the wee hours of the night in the trendy desert oasis.

When you first stroll up the strip, you can't help but notice the new "whitewash" on the front facade of the Tropicana, with the stand-out eye-catching blood red lettering!

At night, tourists actually stand on the overpass and video-tape a swirl of images that are projected onto the side of the landmark Hotel, which are - not only visually dazzling - but downright entertaining to take a gander at.

But, the real appeal, is to be found tucked away in the actual environs of the Hotel.

Once tourists stroll inside the front doors, the white marble inlays on the floor - and the highly-polished brass fixtures - are inclined to soothe guests right off-the-bat and put 'em in a positive upbeat mood.

In fact, the whole first floor is a sight to behold, even for someone with a very discerning discriminating eye.

I was particularly drawn to a beautiful "stick" wall hanging near a back entrance which was simply exquisite.

The decorators tied in wood inlays in the floor which echo the heme beautifully, too.

I expect that this week-end the Tropicana will be the place to hang out, sip an exotic cocktail, take a splash in the pool, and what-have-you.

By the way, Ms. Gladys Knight is appearing at the Hotel right now, so you may want to snatch up a ticket or two for that much-ballyhooed live concert gig!

See 'ya there!

Wild Wild West...cocktail waitresses gone by way of Dinosaur! Vegas Gamblers die of thirst...

If you're heading over to the Wild Wild West watering hole and Casino on Tropicana Boulevard (3300 Block) in Las Vegas, it may be wise to pack a flask of whiskey in your well-tooled boot.

Unless, you don't mind dying of thirst in the desert oasis, that is.

A couple of out-of-towners hankering to par-tay hearty grumbled to their buddies later that they were chomping at the bit for a shot or two for about a half-an-hour or so before they packed up their kit 'n kaboodle and strode into a bar down the strip run by the competition (where the liquor flowed and the good times rolled).

Uh-huh!

It looks like cocktail waitresses - and bar service on the Casino floor at the Wild Wild West - has gone by way of the Dinosaur.

Management at the tired old bar needs to get hip to the fact - that when rugged dudes are out for a round of poker-playing on a boys-night-out - that they're inclined to chase it down with a smoke, a shot or two of whiskey, and thirst-quenching ice cold beer.

Even an uptown tourist savors an exotic cocktail or two when they try their luck at the slots.

Dudes at the (Yawn) Wild Wild West need to get real!

McDonalds...bimbo blimp @ Tropicana Blvd outlet a loser! Personality of a slug...

McDonald's already has one clown, Miss!

Today, when I cruised into a McDonald's fast-foot outlet on Tropicana Boulevard just across from the Wild Wild West, I was forced to do a double-take when I caught sight of a screwball employee - waiting on customers with her back turned away from the cash register - as she selfishly kibitzed with co-workers about her personal affairs while on paid duty.

The dizzy broad - with all the personality and intelligence of a worm - was clueless.

At a time when it was just announced that Wynn's Encore just laid off approximately 200 employees, you'd think this bimbo blimp would get her lard a** in gear, and also count her blessings.

If you ask me, her skills (!) are better suited for scrubbing floors and washing out toilets.

In contrast, an elderly female employee at her side served her customers in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner.

You know what they say!

Too bad youth is wasted on the pimply-faced young.

Wild Wild West...comfy affordable suites! Free WiFi! Pool! Cafe gratis!

Surprisingly, the Wild Wild West's "Days Inn" suites in Vegas, turned out to be a great deal!

Just across the bridge from the glitzy strip - on Tropicana - the little hide-a-way is affordably-priced, boasts a few perks (such as free 24-hour WiFi access & sparkling lagoon-style pool), and within shouting distance of all the adrenalin-rushing night life.

By the way, if a tourist is quick and snaps up a suite overlooking the pool, the exotic-looking nightscape of Aria (@ the spanking new City Center Complex), New York New York, and the Luxor Pyramid will take your breath away under a starry night sky.

Although the parking lot is situated on a dicey part of Tropicana don't let that put you off when you drive up.

Once inside the compound, particularly poolside, the environs are quite restful and put the weary traveller at ease right away.

Nearby, there are a handful of fast-food outlets - McDonald's, Jack-in-the-Box, Wendy's - for folks on a limited budget unable to spring for extravagant buffets at the upscale Hotels on the main strip.

One of my favorite features at the Wild Wild West?

The one-way mirrored windows fronting each suite which allow the liberated guest to stretch back on their beds stark naked without any of the staff (or guests) strolling by on the walkway any the wiser.

I've turned into such a dirty old-man, I know!

By the way, there is a jacuzzi at one end of the pool, for dudes and gals on the prowl looking to hook up for a romantic dinner (or - what-have-you - as the Big Lebowski might quip), a dance, or cocktail or two at one of the watering holes uptown.

See 'ya there!

Las Vegas Mob Experience...Tropicana exhibit to feature Bugsy Siegel & Meyer Lansky!

The myths and legends of Las Vegas mobsters got a new boost on Tuesday when it was announced that the Tropicana Hotel is installing a tribute to a handful of underworld characters who once reined supreme in Sin City many moons ago.

The "Las Vegas Mob Experience" has the backing of relatives of the likes of - Meyer Lansky, Bugsy Siegel, and Sam Giancana - too.

In fact, thanks to their contributions, the much-anticipated chronicle of gangster-life in the early days will be fleshed out to include insightful home movies, one-of-a-kind photographs, and a treasure trove of memorabilia that organizers brag will throw the spotlight on a side of the mobsters never seen before.

One novel aspect of the exhibit is a series of spiritual ghost guides and radio-frequency chips to guide intrigued guests on their foray into the fascinating realm of gangsterdom.

And, state-of-the-art technology will also allow adventurous fans to interact by inputting choices, squealing to the fuzz, or just adding their own imaginative twist to the mix.

Some have wondered if the upcoming Tropicana project (created by Plainjoe Studios) may crowd the much-anticipated opening of the "Las Vegas Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement" which is scheduled to throw open its doors in the near future too.

The general consensus is “no”.

The Tropicana exhibit is backed wholeheartedly by the City of Las Vegas and the Mayor, his honor, Oscar Goodman.

And, the bevy of bodacious babes he usually has in tow, I expect.

Motel 6...Vegas lodgings at Tropicana suck! Staff prejudiced against whites!

The Motel 6 just down the road a hop-and-a-skip from the MGM Grand on Tropicana Boulevard is deceiving from the outside on the busy Vegas street.

When tourists drive by - or even take a gander at the publicity still on the Internet - the impression potential guests get is that the Motel is a comfy little Inn with a handful of quaint suites.

Not!

One tourist got the shock of their life when they made a reservation, and over forty-five minutes later, found themselves still stumbling around an asphalt lot on a sizzling hot day in the middle of a Vegas heat wave in search of what appeared to be a non-existent room!

When the exhausted dehydrated guest approached a couple of security guards for directions, they were clueless - too - about where the lodgings were located on the premises!

"There," one rotund uniformed guard beckoned, as he struggled to communicate in English.

Uh-huh!

A second nightmare began.

None of the maids, pool boys, or general staff, appeared to be able to speak English!

Subsequently, the frustrated guest was sent on wild-goose chases here-there-and-everywhere all around the sprawling motel property because of misguided fingers.

A legal immigrant is required to demonstrate a facility with the first language of the Nation, which - in this instant case - is English.

Am I to assume this workers are illegal and undocumented?

If so, send in ICE!

As it turns out, there are approximately 600 suites at the Motel 6 location, just off the strip on Tropicana Blvd.

In spite of that staggering detail, staff at the front desk persist with the silliest (stupidist) methods of directing the Hotel traffic.

For example, a staffer might instruct a guest to walk in a straight line down to Coco's along the Boulevard, pass two palm trees (!) - then, make a left - and head down to the designated building number which is usually obscured or not clearly marked.

To complicate matters, there was another mini-sized Motel - the American? - squeezed in-between the two Motel 6 properties.

The wacko staff differentiate the two by the color of the door (green or blue).

God forbid a tourist should trot back to the front desk and ask for an escort to locate the suite.

In fact, it has not escaped the attention of many, that the front desk clerks (mostly African-American) appear to be prejudiced against white folks!

If a lilly-white guest asks for a room fronting on the pool, the nasty clerks quickly note they just gave the last suite away, with a smirk on their face.

Although a middle-aged caucasion business-man was lost and frustrated, no one on duty showed much sympathy or compassion for the "paying guest".

And, forget about service with a smile!

It has gone by way of the dinosaur at Motel 6.

Finally, one Latino employee, offered to accompany the guest to their room - probably because the couldn't help but notice that the lodger was getting angrier by the moment - and about to blow his top.

A snotty young gal - about twenty-something - was quick to bill a credit card for an access fee for WiFi.

But, guess what?

After the guest trotted off to their room, and attempted to log on, he discovered she neglected (!) to provide the guest with the code!

Intentional?

Just betcha!

C**t!

Needless to say, Motel 6 on Tropicana Boulevard in Las Vegas - even if you're desperate and there is no room at the Inn elsewhere - should be avoided like the plague.

You'd be better off sleeping on a park bench!

Americans should put their foot down - especially in respect to racist attitudes among blacks - and just say "no".

Amen!

Wayne Newton...return resident engagement in Vegas! Fans overjoyed...

Happier Days @ the Flamingo!

The scuttlebutt around the strip at the crack of dawn?

Wayne Newton has agreed to sign on as a resident "long-term" stage performer at the Tropicana Hotel.

According to the rumors, along with a spanking-new contract, there will be a Wayne Newton "make-over" in the wings, too.

Gosh, I recall the days when Wayne appeared all fresh-faced (and innocent) on the Ed Sullivan show - softly blushing and gloriously belting out - Danke Schoen - with precise distinctive phrasing.

So, what's next?

Expect a "theatrical extravaganza", according to his handlers and insiders at the glitzy Tropicana.

Critics like Mike Weatherford, at the Las Vegas Review Journal, read beteen the notes and hazard a guess that this is a sure sign that Mr. Newton's pipes have bitten the proverbial dust.

Do rust & diamonds sell?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Wayne Newton...quietly negotiating with Tropicana for performance dates! Cost of cigars may figure in...

A few months ago, I reported on a special appearance by mega-star - Wayne Newton - when he returned to the Las Vegas stage to packed houses and was cheered on enthusiastically by adoring fans.

The rumor around the strip this week is that Newton started-up talks with the Tropicana about a possible upcoming longer-term engagement - but, for some inexplicable reason - the negotiations fell through.

Could it have been the root of all evil - the almighty buck - that stalled a potentially lucrative deal for the Casino?

The cost of cigars, stabling thoroughbred horses - and even hair gel - has sky-rocketed since Newton last appeared under contract on stage.

Will be bite the big one if the price is right?
